Did Not Say Anything About My Feelings - Chapter 42. Borrowing The Shower
Not long after they returned to their hostel rooms upon finishing their shopping, it was dinner time. Lin Ye called his roommates to head to the canteen and have dinner together. A few of them were discussing at the table whether they should cancel the nighttime practice. After all, they needed to spend some time packing their bags.
They had yet to finish speaking when they heard the staff members from the production team announce through the public announcement system. The practice building would be closed today and all trainees had to cancel their nighttime practice. They were all to return to their hostels and prepare the things they needed to bring tomorrow. The cameramen would randomly enter the hostel rooms to film.
The trainees lowered their heads and increased their eating speed, wanting to rush back to the hostel room and shower before the cameramen came. They wanted to put on a face mask, do some natural makeup so that when they went on camera they would not be covered in sweat from practice.
The six people in the hostel room played a game of scissors-paper-stone to decide the order they were showering in again. Perhaps it was because the last time they played scissors-paper-stone, he had used up all his luck, but Lin Ye was unlucky and ended up being the sixth to shower.
Xia Dongchan, who was the winner, did not even finish eating before he returned to the hostel room alone. The remaining five thought about how long Xia Dongchan would take to shower and hence slowly ate the dishes on the table, returning to their hostel room thirty minutes later.
When the five of them opened the door and entered, Xia Dongchan had already finished showering, a towel placed over his head as he squatted in front of the cabinet to look for a hairdryer. Cheng Chi, who was second, did not even dare to waste a bit of time. With Qi Huan hurrying him, he looked for his clothes before entering the bathroom to take a shower.
Lin Ye and Qi Huan played poker on the sofa while their other two roommates were chatting randomly by their beds. Qi Huan and he would occasionally add on to the conversation.
Cheng Chi came out from the shower and Qi Huan put down the poker cards, standing up to head to the bathroom. Lin Ye then sat on the sofa alone, playing with his Rubik’s cube. A moment later, he remembered that he had yet to empty the trash. Thus, he took the trash bag, opening the door to go out and throw the rubbish.
After he threw the rubbish, he saw Ming Rang in the hallway. Ming Rang was just leaving the room.
Lin Ye’s expression was surprised, “Didn’t the production team say that they were coming to film in our hostel room tonight and not to go out?”
Ming Rang’s answer was direct, “I’m going to the convenience store to buy a pack of cigarettes.” After he said that, he looked at Lin Ye under the dim yellow light in the corridor, “We’re filming at night. Aren’t you going back to shower?”
Lin Ye said, “My roommate is showering.”
Ming Rang nodded, he said matter-of-factly, “You can come to our hostel room to shower. Jiang Lian and I are done showering.”
Lin Ye was stunned. He had not thought of that possibility.
Ming Rang hurried him, “Go on, it’s not like you’ve never showered there in the past.”
Lin Ye smiled and agreed.
Going to Jiang Lian’s hostel room to shower was indeed a good idea. It would save time and he did not need to wait for the other five to finish showering. The first time he had gone to Jiang Lian’s room to shower, he was not very familiar with Jiang Lian. Now, their relationship had changed greatly.
Lin Ye went to knock on the door opposite his room without any hesitation.
Jiang Lian opened the door, phone in hand. His phone screen was lit up and there was the soundtrack of a game playing. Jiang Lian’s gaze was lowered as he stared at his phone, his tone casual, “You didn’t bring your keys again?”
Lin Ye opened his mouth, half-jokingly saying, “I don’t have the keys to your hostel room.”
When Jiang Lian heard Lin Ye’s voice, he raised his head. When he saw that it was Lin Ye, his lips curved upwards slightly, “What’s the matter?”
Lin Ye said, “There are too many people in my hostel room, so I’m here to borrow your bathroom to shower.”
Jiang Lian let go of the door handle, slippers on his feet as he turned around and walked inwards, “Come in and close the door.”
Lin Ye carried his towel and clothes and entered the room. He first placed his things on the shelf in the bathroom. Then, he turned around to remove his down feather jacket.
The chair in front of Ming Rang’s bed was full of things, with things on the sofa as well. He instinctively wanted to place the down feather jacket on the empty chair next to Jiang Lian’s bed. Lin Ye had already walked to the chair but suddenly recalled that the last time he came here to shower, Jiang Lian had picked up the jacket he had placed on the back of his chair, his expression full of unhappiness.
Lin Ye turned around and carried his jacket to the chair that had clothes stacked on it.
Jiang Lian glanced at him, raising his eyebrows slightly, “There’s an empty chair for you to put your clothes on but you don’t want to. Why are you insisting on squeezing your clothes onto Ming Rang’s chair?”
When Lin Ye heard those words, he turned around and said meaningfully, “Isn’t it because someone refuses to let me put my clothes on their chair?”
“All I did was scold you once, why are you so good at holding grudges?” Jiang Lian’s expression was one that was barely smiling, “Put it there, I won’t scold you.”
Lin Ye put down his clothes. Before he entered the bathroom, he was stopped by Jiang Lian who called him from behind, “Do you know which two bottles are the shampoo and body soap?”
It had been quite a few days and Lin Ye could still remember the scent of Jiang Lian’s body soap, he definitely knew which ones they were. Although he thought that, he did not say it out, “There are so many bottles of shampoo and body soap, I can just pick any and use it, right?”
As if he was unsatisfied with Lin Ye’s answer, Jiang Lian narrowed his eyes and looked at him for a moment, raising his hand and signaling to him, “Come over here.”
Lin Ye hesitated for a moment, standing at his original spot and asking, “What’s the matter?”
Jiang Lian smiled, gaze landing on Lin Ye’s feet, “Are you intending on wearing that pair of slippers to shower?”
Lin Ye lowered his head to look and realized that he had forgotten to change his shoes when he came out. He was still wearing the bedroom slippers that he wore in his room. He glanced at Jiang Lian’s feet. The temperature in the room was very high and the other was not wearing warm bedroom slippers. Instead, he was wearing the anti-slip slippers that were meant for showering.
Jiang Lian asked, “Aren’t you coming over?”
Lin Ye walked to the other, “Lend me the slippers you’re wearing.”
Jiang Lian moved his legs away, “Come over and take it yourself.”
Jiang Lian bent down, reaching out to take the pair of slippers on the ground.
However, there was a sudden force on his hips. Jiang Lian, who was sitting on the sofa, had reached out an arm. Lin Ye’s center of gravity was suddenly lowered by Jiang Lian grabbing onto him, and he landed on Jiang Lian’s legs.
Jiang Lian hugged him with both arms, the nice-smelling shower gel surrounded Lin Ye from all directions.
Lin Ye was stunned. As Lin Ye lowered his head, he met Jiang Lian’s dark eyes.
The other said, “Have you smelled it?”
Lin Ye was a little slow, “What?”
Jiang Lian slowly opened his mouth, “The scent of the shower gel, have you smelled it?”
Lin Ye slowly returned to his senses, not understanding as he asked, “So?”
“So,” Jiang Lian loosened his grip, pushing Lin Ye up from his thighs, “Don’t take the wrong shampoo and shower gel,” His voice was low as he added, “When you come out, I’ll check the scent on your body.”
Lin Ye had not expected that he did not even have the chance to leave the bathroom.
He quickly finished washing his hair and body. He switched off the hot water, and just when he turned around to look for the towel he used to dry his hair on the shelf, he realized that he did not bring his towel in. He walked to the door, unlocking it. Then, he pushed the door open by a tiny bit, his voice at a medium volume as he called out Jiang Lian’s name.
Jiang Lian, who was on the sofa responded, with a sound.
Lin Ye said, “I forgot to bring the towel I use to dry my hair over. Lend me your towel.”
Jiang Lian stood up and walked to the balcony to retrieve his towel.
Through the door, Lin Ye could clearly hear the sounds of Jiang Lian’s footsteps as he walked past the door. A moment later, that sound slowly got closer as Jiang Lian approached the bathroom again, stopping outside the bathroom door.
Jiang Lian’s voice sounded, “Reach your hand out to take it.”
When Lin Ye heard Jiang Lian, he opened the door slightly more, poking his smooth arm out through the gap, his palm facing upwards.
Jiang Lian’s gaze slowly glanced past Lin Ye’s open palm, landing on his arm, which was completely bare because Lin Ye was not wearing anything.
It was probably because his arm had not seen the sun the whole winter, but Lin Ye’s arm was white and very pretty. Jiang Lian could see the veins on Lin Ye’s arm, but it was not thin and delicate like that of a young girl’s arm. Instead, it had a long bone structure that belonged to a young man.
He probably went to the gym occasionally, but not very often. His arm had defined muscles. Although it was only a thin layer of muscles and was quite slender, it had the aura of a young man that was not completely grown up yet.
Jiang Lian’s gaze landed on the place that joined his arm and his shoulder. Lin Ye had only reached out a hand, most of his body and shoulders were hidden behind the door.
He quietly took a step back, the emotions in his eyes becoming more intense but his tone was casual, “Extend your hand a little more.”
When he heard the other’s slightly cold voice, Lin Ye did not question him and instead extended his shoulder out a little more. With his movement, Jiang Lian could now see a small portion of Lin Ye’s bare shoulders.
Jiang Lian stared at Lin Ye’s shoulders for a while before he handed Lin Ye the towel.
Lin Ye felt a softness in his hand and he stopped waving his arm around, grabbing the towel as he thanked Jiang Lian through the door, intending on retracting his hand from outside the door.
However, the other end of the towel was held by Jiang Lian and when Lin Ye pulled it, he did not manage to move the towel.
He reminded Jiang Lian, “Loosen your hand.”
The hand that Jiang Lian was using to hold the towel moved slightly. However, he did not let go. Instead, he moved forward, grabbing onto Lin Ye’s wrist.
Perhaps it was because he had just showered, but the skin on Lin Ye’s wrist was smoother than usual. Jiang Lian bent his index finger, his heated fingertips rubbing Jiang Lian’s wrist.
Slight itchiness and numbness appeared from the areas that Lin Ye touched, the feeling extending upwards, causing him to have goosebumps.
Lin Ye froze, not moving at all. He seemed to be considering something, but he also seemed to be completely distracted.
It was completely quiet, and it was like time had stopped.
There were only the droplets of water that quietly rolled from the top of his head to the tips of his hair. After wavering slightly, they dripped down, lightly landing on his defined noses causing a little splash, that splattered towards his eyes and his lashes.
Lin Ye gently blinked, looking at Jiang Lian through the thick glass on the door.
Through the translucent glass, Lin Ye could only see a vague outline of the other’s face but for some reason, Lin Ye felt that Jiang Lian was looking at him too.
He licked his lips, raising his hand and slowly moving his hair that was still dripping water to the back of his head. However, there were a few strands of hair that did not listen, landing in front of his face the moment he let go of the hair.
Lin Ye was feeling a little irritated, raising his hand to pull the hair that fell forward back again. At the same time, he also prepared himself for those strands of hair falling forward for the third time.
However, those strands of hair did not fall forward again.
But the irritation that Lin Ye felt in his heart was not reduced at all. A moment later, Lin Ye finally realized that the problem did not lie in those strands of hair.
He turned away, no longer meeting Jiang Lian’s gaze through the door. Instead, he flipped his hand, silently grabbing Jiang Lian’s hand.
The next second, he opened the door that separated the two of them, pulling Jiang Lian in.
