Did Not Say Anything About My Feelings - Chapter 44. Where Should I Hide
Lin Ye suddenly froze, as if he recalled something. His heart started to beat rapidly and he pressed on the phone’s lock screen, turning around and trying to walk quietly further into the room, his expression anxious.
Jiang Lian walked over and glanced at him, looking at him, “Who’s knocking on the door?”
Lin Ye said lightly, “It’s probably the cameramen and the other staff members.”
Jiang Lian’s expression did not change, his tone calm, “I couldn’t find a bandaid.”
He raised his voice to respond to the people knocking when they knocked for the third time. Then, he glanced at Lin Ye, “Besides bandaids, we can use other things to cover it. But,” Jiang Lian gave Lin Ye the choice, “Do you want to hide, or appear with me?”
Lin Ye could clearly remember the last time he had been in the hostel room alone with Jiang Lian, where Wen Mian had suddenly led the cameramen and rushed in. Thus, Lin Ye did not hesitate to choose the first option, “Where should I hide? In the bathroom?”
Jiang Lian looked at him, then laughed quietly, “Go hide on the bed.”
Lin Ye’s heart, which was already beating quickly, skipped a beat. He was still feeling nervous, but it was a different kind of nervousness from when he heard the people talking outside the hostel room door. But Lin Ye could not put a finger on what was different about it.
The truth was, it was quite normal for trainees that were close to sit or lie on each other’s beds and play around in Lin Ye’s hostel.
Xia Dongchan slept on the lower bunk and Lin Ye would sit or lie on the other’s bed when he was feeling too lazy to climb the stairs. Qi Huan would often squeeze on the same bed as Cheng Chi for afternoon naps.
Besides Lin Ye, who knew the truth, the other people in their hostel room did not know a thing about their relationship, but never suspected anything between them and had never felt uncomfortable about how close they were.
Lin Ye felt that the bed that Jiang Lian slept in was slightly different from the bed Xia Dongchan slept in. The main reason was probably that he and Xia Dongchan had never done such things before, but he had done it with Jiang Lian. Although he was nervous, he was still rational. Lin Ye acted composed as he asked, “Whose bed?”
Jiang Lian crossed his arms and asked him, “Besides my bed, whose bed do you want to get into?”
Lin Ye nodded distractedly, turning around to look around the hostel room. From his current position, one bed was further away than the other.
He looked over at the bed that was closer, seeing Jiang Lian’s name pasted on the side of the bed. Thus, he headed over to that bed.
Jiang Lian reached out to pull on his waist, “Where are you going? My bed is behind you.”
Lin Ye’s expression was slightly awkward. He turned around and quickly climbed onto the upper bunk of Jiang Lian’s bed. Then, he moved the thick blanket away, removing his thick clothes as he turned his head towards the wall and buried himself in the blanket.
The familiar scent of shower gel surrounded him and Lin Ye hid his head under the blankets. The moment he was surrounded by darkness, he lifted his unclothed knee and moved about on the bed that Jiang Lian had slept in before.
The sounds of chatter by the door, the laughter, and the sounds of footsteps were all intertwined. He could hear the sounds clearly through the blanket covering him.
The staff members and the other trainees had entered.
Lin Ye was feeling very bored under the blankets. No one had noticed that besides Jiang Lian, there was someone else in the room. He slowly calmed down and since he did not know the password to the phone that he had brought with him, he could only quietly squeeze on the blanket and listen to what the others were saying.
The cameraman asked Jiang Lian why he took so long to open the door.
Jiang Lian smiled and answered, “I was showering.”
Ming Rang seemed to have returned. After Jiang Lian spoke, he acted like he suddenly understood everything and said, “I was wondering why no one came to open the door despite me knocking for so long. It turns out that you were showering.”
After they chatted for a while, they started to film.
“We’re basically filming your packing list for tomorrow, and the reasons you brought those things,” The cameraman explained the theme for the recording, “If you’re ready, let’s begin now.”
Jiang Lian suddenly interrupted the cameraman who was adjusting the camera, saying that he wanted to go to the washroom.
When the other left, the cameraman stood at the same spot, adjusting his camera. The trainees that had followed to watch started to talk to the cameraman.
Lin Ye was lying below the blankets, slowly listening to their conversation. However, there was a sudden notification sound by his ear.
His heart skipped a beat and he realized it was a sound that came from Jiang Lian’s phone. Jiang Lian had not set his phone to silent mode.
Lin Ye was frozen under the blankets, completely focused on listening to his surroundings, trying his best to hear what the reactions of the people that were below were.
The sound of conversation did not stop.
It was probably because the phone was under the blankets and was a distance away from those people, but no one heard the sudden notification sound.
Lin Ye relaxed slightly, reaching for the phone and turning on the screen. He glanced at the words on the text he had just received, quickly switching the phone to silent mode.
After he had set the phone to silent mode, his gaze once again landed on the phone screen and he saw the name of the sender— Ming Rang.
Lin Ye was slightly stunned.
The two of them were in the room, why did they need to text each other privately? Lin Ye found it strange but noticed that there was a button to display the message next to the notification.
Lin Ye hesitated for a moment but decided to reach out and press on it.
He could instantly see the complete message.
“The password is my birthday.”
Lin Ye held his breath, realizing that this was sent by Jiang Lian.
Then, he finally recalled that this was not the first time that the other had told him his phone password, which was very private.
