Dimensional Store System In Apocalypse - Chapter 340
He immediately reached out for the report waiting on the table. But before he started to read it, the sound created from flipping the paper woke Valerian up from her nap.
“You’re awake, Feng? Do you want me to read the report for you while you eat?” Valerian approached Zhang Qin Feng unconsciously, like how Satella used to do. Perhaps she subconsciously prevented herself from repeating what Satella often did to Zhang Qin Feng, as it would make her look pretentious.
Her head was on Zhang Qin Feng’s chest as she patiently waited for his reply.
And since she already suggested, Zhang Qin Feng might as well go with it. The report was handed to Valerian while Zhang Qin Feng positioned himself before the plate of food prepared by Liam.
“Alright… I’ll begin,” said Valerian.
“From the report, the skeletal samples you brought back all had a similar genetic code. Based on what we had, there’s a total of 21 different DNA samples, which means there might be more than 30 Genetic-Base presents from these mountains of bones.”
“But apparently, these people seem to have a weak tolerance towards SCV virus. It looks like they only went through the first stage of infection so far and managed to temporarily prevent the virus from keep mutating.”
“Perhaps this is why their resistance towards the Blood Petrification Disease is weaker than us. These bones also contained no residue from the serum in their body. If my guesses were not wrong, their deaths were due to the lack of serum to control the disease from getting worst.” Valerian summarized what was in the report to Zhang Qin Feng.
And at the end of her report, it was stated that these people hardly survived over six months due to the Blood Petrification Disease. This could only mean one thing.
A hint of excitement appeared in his mind as Zhang Qin Feng communicated with Stein in private.
‘Stein, are you thinking the same thing as I do?’ Zhang Qin Feng asked. He wanted to know if the system had the same opinion as him.
[By putting the result from Valerian’s experiment report with what the system had deduced so far, the possibility of this place being an undisclosed shelter is exceptionally high. This finding would undoubtedly create more opportunities for the Wind Base’s development]
Zhang Qin Feng nodded all of his own after listening to Stein’s reply. It seems that the answer from Stein was about the same as his own.
“Valerian,” Zhang Qin Feng called her as he wrapped his arms around her waist. Before she could even respond to his sudden touch, Zhang Qin Fang had pulled her closer to him. Using her voluptuous chest to relieve some of his tension, Zhang Qin Feng buried his face into her cleavage with a hint of flowery musk fragrance.
“Good job,” he said. It was just simple praise, but that’s all he needed to say to make Valerian blushed. But instead of eating her right away in this room, Zhang Qin Feng gave her a kiss on her lips in exchange.
“Take a rest here for now. We’ll talk after I come back, alright?” Zhang Qin Feng smiled and placed Valerian on the bed. His stressed appearance is now replaced by a smile as Zhang Qin Feng grabbed his gears from the closet before leaving.
“Attention. Those from the Armed Forces will regroup at the first fast boat after you’re done putting your gears. You have ten minutes.” said Zhang Qin Feng after he tapped on his Luna Device. Two engineers with skills to operate the Builder’s Frame were also called to the fast boat this time.
And when the people finally gathered before the boat, Zhang Qin Feng started to brief them on what to do next.
“Listen well to what I’m going to tell you. Our objective over here will be to search for an entrance. And to be exact, it is a shelter’s entrance.” said Zhang Qin Feng. His words took some of the soldiers by surprise.
“S – Sir! Did you say shelter?” one of the twenty-something soldiers asked. As one of the members of Satella’s core team, he knew what does it mean.
“Yes. And to make it clear, this is an uncontaminated shelter. So the people we might see here could possibly be more dangerous than the Western Strand Division that destroyed us.” Zhang Qin Feng nodded at the soldier as he continued.
“You guys have to mark the boss’ words,” Victor added as he joined them in their meeting. There was only a tablet computer in his hand, but from the number of contents on the page he’s currently at, there should be quite a few things this department head wanted to say.
“What’s wrong?” Zhang Qin Feng asked with a curious expression.
“Good news for me, but bad news for you all. I’m afraid that you’ll be fighting with people capable of firing laser beams from their fists.” Victor said as he took the equipment out from the rucksack he had.
Surprisingly, the wrist bracelet-like trinket was actually a weapon. With the help of some adhesive and screws, Victor was somehow managed to reassemble this weapon together. Of course, it took him almost an hour from taking apart more than half of what Zhang Qin Feng brought back to barely repair this took.
“The one driving the Builder’s Frame. Toss a piece of steel into the air for me.” Victor ordered. The frame operator hesitates at first but eventually obeys what Victor asks after receiving a nod from Zhang Qin Feng.
The Builder’s Frame tossed a piece of steel about 25 kilograms in weight up into the air by relying on the advanced hydraulic motor.
Then, Victor acted.
Pointing his fist towards the flying piece of steel plate, he tightened his grip, which had a remote hidden in the middle of his palm. The remote-controlled weapon suddenly fired beam-powered bullets through the conversion of electricity into heat energy.
At first, his accuracy was all over the place. But it only took Victor a few seconds to adjust before all the attacks struck the steel plate.
After it returned to the ground, the Builder’s Frame operator quickly went to retrieve the piece of steel, which was now turned into a honeycomb from Victor’s half-assed attack.
“Fuck that, Victor. Do you think that all of them had one?” Zhang Qin Feng asked.
“Yeah… From the look of it.” Victor nodded. He hates to break this out to Zhang Qin Feng, but this weapon is dangerous.

Well, sorry for missing the update. As per told in my few previous chapters, my Father In Law passed away, so there’s quite a few things to do until the respected elder peacefully went on his way to the heaven. Please forgive me for failing the Win-Win contest for this October.
