Dimensional Store System In Apocalypse - Chapter 395: Incoming Support (2)
“Landing crews, prepare everything onboard on the transport vessels and get ready for delivery! The big boss will be in touch with us again very soon!” the 008’s captain gave the order for all the ships to get into standby.
“As for the two of you, you’ll be moving independently until you’re absorbed into big Boss’ jurisdiction. Is there anything else?” the captain asked the two individuals.
Their standing itself seems to hold some significant position in Zhang Qin Feng’s Wind Base Group.
“There’s nothing else, captain. Thank you.” answered the two before they made their way back to their post.
From the look of their preparation so far, their formation seems to be more than just four patrol ships. It seems that their arrival to the frontline means something entirely else, as the delivery package appears to be more than just weaponry, ammunition, and supplies.
—–
About a day before the conversation above happened.
“Everyone move in and do not falter. Take the opportunity while the system is down to attack the inner circle!” Zhang Tianci said as he mustered all the firepower they had to strike the Tyrants.
Unlike the battle against the zombie horde, going against a group of Tyrants equals fighting the elite soldiers of an entire country on their own. It was absolutely a critical battle with only ten combatants, including himself, in this team of thirty-five people.
Even by relying on all the advanced technology in their hand, this was a difficult battle.
Each time the Tyrants retaliates by hurling all the projectiles outward, it would be like a rain of boulders and concretes coming to kill. If they weren’t protected by the Builder’s Frames going around to deliver some heavy firepower to assist, their number of death would definitely climb up.
And after battling alongside Zhang Qin Feng for a while, Zhang Tianci started to understand the importance of overwhelming victory.
Although this battle took them close to a day to finish, it was a victory without a single death. The beacon site was also secured without putting on more damage on the building itself.
They then took half more days to make ample preparation using the supplies brought out by Zhang Qin Feng.
“Boss, we’ve cleared the beacon site. As a precaution, the entire area was purified using a flamethrower to remove all possible viral or parasitic activities around us. We also poured a layer of non-porous solution concrete on the ground to create a stable base for any further expansion project.” an engineer said.
He’s precisely the leader of this engineering team Zhang Qin Feng appointed.
“Right now, the area within a hundred meters from the beacon site is disinfected. Are there any other instructions from you, Boss?” the head of engineering added.
“I have nothing else to add so far. Continue with what you think is essential to develop this area.” Zhang Qin Feng replied. He would prefer to let them proceed on their own since construction and base-building wasn’t his best trait.
But again, the precautionary measure they practiced seems to be quite effective, as the contaminants around this area are practically at 0.01% right now.
“Then, we’ll continue to build the required facility other department requested. If there’s anything you need me for, please let me know, Boss.” the engineer left without bothering Zhang Qin Feng any further.
“Sir, shall we start disassembling the beacon and study the construct right now?” another crew came to Zhang Qin Feng for his approval.
“Yes. Prepare a team to start examining the beacon and preserve as much information you can. While you’re extracting all the data from the construct, save another backup copy for me as reference.”
“As for now, focus on how to neutralize their jamming signal. We can talk about other things when we know how the signal jammer works,” said Zhang Qin Feng.
“Roger that, Boss. Please wait for our good news in deciphering the beacon and its functionality.” the crew immediately replied to him before leaving. But he wasn’t the last. The medical team, scouts, and even the vanguards came with a similar report.
The only difference is their focus on what’s essential varies from one another. And after giving the crews verbal permission to proceed, the disturbance finally stops.
Zhang Tianci soon came around evening when they were on their dinnertime. It seems that he had completely recovered from the wounds he got from battling against the Tyrant Variant.
“How are you doing?” Zhang Qin Feng gave half of the plant-based steak in his hand to Zhang Tianci, and the latter ate it without hesitation since Zhang Qin Feng was his creator.
“I’m doing fine. Next time when we meet, I’ll defeat that mutant for sure,” Zhang Tianci said as he took a deep bite. But no matter how much he tried to hide the hint of sourness in him, he failed.
As the creator of Zhang Tianci, it is clear that Zhang Qin Feng could see the feeling of disappointment in the clone for his failure to kill the mutant.
“Don’t worry. You might be losing to that bastard now. But that kind of advantageous situation won’t repeat itself on our third encounter. Let us get it head when it comes at us again next time.” Zhang Qin Feng said.
“I will. I won’t let it get away the next time we meet.” Zhang Tianci replied as he finished the steak given by his creator.
“That’s the spirit. For now, our concern is not hunting the virus carriers but settling our foundation around this place. This time, we won’t be taking this passively any longer.” Zhang Qin Feng changed the topic.
“Our objective now is no controlling their numbers, but more to spreading our influence around this continent. It will start from this part of the continent and extend further into the center,” he said.
“So… The creator’s intention is to capture this continent and turn the whole island into our base of operation?” Zhang Tianci guessed.
“Correct. The current shelter No: 213 is going to be too small for us soon. And right now, we have all the reason we need to annex this place and turn it into a part of our base of operation.” Zhang Qin Feng nodded.
From the look of it, he had made up his mind to shift their facility over here.
