Discovering Something Special - Chapter 18 Sitting At The Round Table
At 8pm, my door bell went off. “It wouldn’t be her right?” Quincy thought to himself. He saw his little darling through the door cam monitor, and his eyes lit up instantly.
“I was gonna pick you up soon”
“I wanted to be the one to pick you up instead”. Seraphina was wearing an off-the-shoulder black lace knee length dress with tiny silver stones all over. She had on hoop earrings and her hair was styled into a messy bun.
“You look beautiful,” Quincy couldn’t help himself. He led her into his apartment and sat her down on the couch.
“Wait a moment. I’ll be done quick.”
She nodded as she watched him sprint to what should be his bedroom. She took the opportunity to look around the sitting area. ‘Quincy wasn’t joking when he said he liked blue’, she thought as she noticed the blue curtains, various paintings of the blue sea, blue vases containing blue silk roses.
He had a family portrait hanging on the wall; he’s his mother’s twin. Queen looked so pretty, she should be 12 in the picture.
As she heard the approaching footsteps, she turned around to see Quincy coming forward. His polo red scent filled the room; her dad uses the same one. He was wearing a simple black shirt with red rose embroidery running the whole length of his sleeves. His brown hair was ruffled, and 3 buttons were undone giving a peek into his muscular chest.
“You look beautiful.” She proceeded to getting two of his buttons done. “Only I can see what’s underneath,” she said as she patted his chest.
Quincy was taken aback, but he loved her possessiveness and smirked at her, “Yes ma’am”.
Looking at his teasing expression, Seraphina suddenly noticed.
“You have silver eyes. How did I just notice?”
She looked fascinatingly at him.
“I guess my other features caught your lovely brown eyes better”. He held her chin pettingly.
“Let’s head out now”
“Sure”.
They both made their way to the underground parking and got into Quincy’s black Jeep wrangler.
9pm at Jazz Bar
At the round table sat Flora and Frank, Claudia and Justin, Quincy and Seraphina, Jazz and Dave.
“I see why Hemsworth got abandoned,” Claudia reported as she broke the silence. Jazz and Quincy put on a confused look. Dave couldn’t resist, “I totally understand what you mean. He’s a hunk,” he whispered to Claudia in a not so low voice. The 3 amigos laughed while the guys scratched their heads searching for God knows what.
Jazz looked at Quincy and I, “I never thought your wife would be Summer. That’s a surprise.”
My girls and I were regular costumers at the bar and we’ve come across Jazz and Dave on numerous visits. Even though Flora and Claudia did all the drinking, we enjoyed the atmosphere at the bar.
“Wife?”
Quincy coughed awkwardly as I stared daggers at him.
‘Her nose crinkled. So freaking cute’ was what he thought in his mind.
Everyone else was spotting teasing smiles on each one of their faces.
“I came here a lot, but I never once saw her. That’s just weird. It doesn’t matter anymore, she’s mine now,” said Quincy as he held my hand underneath the table.
The guys cringed at his declaration while Dave and the girls made “WOOOOOOO” sounds.
The table was filled with laughter, and it was an overall relaxing atmosphere.
