Distorted World: Rise Of The Black One - Volume 2 Chapter 51 10
Half a week after the first day of school…
Asher has been attending class, there’s been nothing but lectures lately because teachers are complied to give students proper knowledge before practical lessons, although the lectures only serve to remind Asher of what he already knows and they’re are only a few occasional interesting facts that he doesn’t know
Like for example they’re are 4 different form of casting magic and each comes with it’s own benefits
1st form: the usual form with chanting and magic formations: benefits: gives you better control of your magic and prevents your spells from being override by other people’s magic, drawback: it’s takes the longest to cast and requires you to remember the chant in your head
2nd form: having magic preemptively cast on an object (preferably a magic weapon): benefits: it’s very fast and easy to cast and cannot be overwritten by others, drawback: the magic imprinted on the item cannot be altered and can damage the user if he/she doesn’t have enough magicol to cast the spell
3rd form: using a Grimoire, benefits: magic can’t be overwritten, is fast to cast and easy to remember, drawbacks: users can grow dependent on their Grimoires and some Grimoires have very nasty personalities
4th form: using root magic (more professionally known as sorcery or mysticism), benefits: all of the above, drawbacks: this form has been lost to time, only people who’ve lived in the mage king’s era or people with inmate talent can use it
Asher sits in his seat completely bored out of his mind:
(As: I’ve been studying and practicing but so far nothing interesting has happened)
(As: Airi’s been getting on well with our classmates at least)
Asher thought looking at Airi having a conversation with some of the girls in class
(As: as for me, well…)
Asher realized just exactly how those time in university back on earth had failed to catch up with him
“Si: hey bro! Alone again today?”
Sieg asked sitting down next to Asher
“As: yeah, but honestly I didn’t expect much anyway so that’s fine”
Asher said
(As: I’ve been spending a lot of time with Sieg and from what I can tell he’s a good person, but I can’t help but feel that there’s an air of dread around him)
“E: you really should try to open up more you know?”
Elise said
“As: I could…but no thanks, life is easier when you’re alone”
Asher quotes
“E: then what about us? What are we to you”
Elise asked, suddenly the atmosphere becomes a little tense
“As: a rare instance of me needing company”
Asher explained
“Si: …well I’m glad you’re thinking about me”
Sieg said sweating
“E: ahh thanks…so you do care”
They said relieving the air once again
“As: whatever so have you decided on joining any clubs yet?”
Asher asked changing the subject
“E: no, not really I’ve been looking through some of the clubs but none of them interests me, also most of them have very restrictive rules, I prefer to have some freedom of choice”
“As: freedom…”
“Si: yeah me too, the subjects some of them study is cool and all but the conditions for joining sucks!”
Sieg exclaimed
“As: hmm…so you want to join a club that basically let’s you do whatever you want right?”
“Si: yeah, wouldn’t that be nice?”
“As: then why not just build your own club?”
Asher asked as if it was something obvious
“E&Si:!!!”
Sieg and Elise turned to Asher in surprise
