Divine Beast Tamer - Chapter 16:Arisa Wendelford (1)
In a small house located at the northeast side of the Oakheart Village, a 15 year old young man was counting his money that was spread on his table, this young man was Ronald. Yesterday afternoon he had sold all the carcasses he had accumulated while he was raising his level in the forest.
He had sold all of them for 13 silvers, which is equivalent to 1300 copper coins. The carcass of the wolf itself was sold for 5 silver coins, this amount of money was the biggest amount he had received in his whole life, even all his savings only amounted to 400 copper coins.
Ronald had already counted it for a total of 14 times; 8 times yesterday evening, 6 times this early morning.
This action of his caused Freya’s confusion and Luna’s mocking laugh.
After counting it for the last time, Ronald looked at the money that was spread on his table and sighed, as of today, he planned to buy an armor for himself as he wanted to start hunting some savage beasts from the Everlast forest. Ronald was very saddened by this fact, this was his first earning after he finished his coming of age ceremony, but he needed to use it to buy a good armor for himself, which had a minimum cost of 15 silver coins.
‘No need to be sad, I will get twice the amount I invested if I have a good armor, I will hunt all the wolves in the forest after having a good armor. If one wolf of the savage beast rank cost 5 silver coins each, I only need to hunt 3 wolves of the savage beast rank.’
Ronald said to himself as he gathered all the silver coins in a pouch, as many would be shocked if he would just retrieve it out of thin air.
After he completed gathering all the silver coins, he opened the door and left his house with Freya laying comfortably on his head.

After some time, Ronald arrived in front of a rundown shop. This shop is the only blacksmith shop in the whole Oakheart Village, a worn-out piece of wood was located above the door of the shop with an image of a hammer and an anvil drawn on it.
Ronald entered the rundown shop, inside it Ronald could see weapons and armors laying quietly on the shelves and racks as dust covered most of them.
An old man that is holding a smoking pipe as he blew some smoke from his mouth was calmly sitting in a rocking chair. This old man was the owner of the shop.
“Good morning uncle Blake.”
“Oh, Ronald it’s you. Are you here, for some odd jobs? You can clean the dust on that side, the same price as always, 5 copper coins per hour.”
“Ah, no, Uncle Blake I’m here to buy an armor.”
“Oh I see, I just remembered that you are already an adult. Hmm… what kind of armor are you looking for?”
“I am looking for an armor that has a good defense but light enough to not restrict my movements and actions. Uncle Blake do you have any recommendations?”
Ronald asked Uncle Blake while his eyes moved around and used his skill to examine every weapon and armor in the shop.
“If you’re looking for an armor with a good defense and won’t restrict your movements, then the most appropriate armor would be a leather armor. You can look on the display on the left, those are all the best leather armor you can find in this town.”
After Ronald heard what his Uncle Blake said, his eyes immediately moved to where the leather armor had been displayed and examined them one by one.
Before examining them, Ronald became excited as he heard what his uncle Blake said, his eyes shown with a look of anticipation. But immediately after examining them, all the anticipation in his eyes slowly vanished, as disappointment filled his face.
“Uncle Blake, they are only of normal rating.”
Hearing what Ronald said, Uncle Blake was slightly surprised and then started pondering about something.
isn’t a common skill but it isn’t that rare either. Though he didn’t know that what Ronald used was a different skill.
Ronald waited for Blake’s reply, as he saw him pondering.
After some time, as if uncle Blake made his decision, he breathed a huge amount of air and said.
“I have an armor here that will really satisfy you if you’re not satisfied with the armors on the display. It may be pricey for a leather armor but believed me this armor will protect you for a long time and you won’t change it soon enough even if you become stronger in a very fast pace…”
“…”
Uncle Blake said with a hint of confidence in his eyes as he boasted about the leather armor’s capabilities.
Ronald listened intently to his uncle Blake’s explanation and received some amazing information from him about weapons and armors.
“Uhmm… Uncle Blake, how much would that armor cost? Uncle Blake, I only had a budget of 15 silver coins.”
Upon hearing what Ronald said his uncle Blake immediately stopped saying things and sighed.
“I forgot, this is just a backward village and not a city nor a huge town.”
“How about this, I’ll lend the armor to you first, and you will pay me later.”
Ronald was shocked when he heard this, his Uncle Blake was known in the village for being a very stingy person. He thought that maybe his uncle’s personality changed for the better.
“Why are you that shocked? I haven’t finished my statement yet.”
After saying this Blake cleared his throat before he continued saying.
“I’ll lend you the armor, and you will pay me later, but the payment would be 5 times the price of the armor. I know that you won’t run away because of this right? I know that you are a very honest person, so I’ll trust you.”
Ronald was shocked when heard this, ‘how did it change for the better? I think his personality worsened.’
“How much is the armor?”
Hearing Ronald’s question, Blake raised his right hand and opened it.
“5 silvers?”
Hearing Ronald’s guess, Blake shook his head.
“50 silvers?”
Hearing Ronald’s second guess, Blake shook his head again, before answering.
“50 gold”
Ronald was very shocked after hearing that astounding price, as he knew that the price of a normal rated armor is about 15 silvers at the minimum and 1 gold at best, ‘How the hell did it reach 50 gold, on top of that 5 times the price, it amounted to a total of 250 gold, it is the price of the cheapest rare rated armor sold in the capital.’
“Uncle I can’t afford that.” Ronald rejected his uncle’s offer immediately, even though he was looking for a good armor he doesn’t want to waste his money.
“Don’t reject me immediately. Wait here, I’ll get the armor first and show you why it was priced like that.”
After saying this, Blake quickly ran as he entered a small room inside the shop.
Looking at the small room, Ronald sighed, he was about to walk out of the shop to escape from his uncle’s grasp, but then an unknown group of five entered the rundown shop.
