Divine Beast Tamer - Chapter 41:I am a Beast Tamer(2)
“I am sorry, you’re wrong. I won’t become a great magic swordsman in the future, as I am a Beast Tamer, and I will be the greatest Beast Tamer that had lived on this world.”
Ronald said loudly with confidence as he watched the battle going on between the major ants of Anteva and the man with a huge sword.
After Ronald learned that his mother hadn’t died and his father was still alive, he suddenly had an urged to let his mother become very proud of him.
Although he felt a little resentment to his mother because of leaving him alone for all those years, he still knew that what his mother did would always be the best for him.
And the only thing, that he thought that could make his mother proud of him, was to be the greatest beast tamer.
As Ronald watched the ongoing battle, he realized that although the major ants had a superiority in numbers, they were still in the losing side, as they were far slower than the man with a huge sword, who easily dodge their attacks.
One minute had just passed, but some major ants had already lost some legs or were heavily injured.
“Freya.”
As Ronald said this, Freya who was watching the scene while lying comfortably on a branch of a tree, waved her hand downward and used her new skill.
“Wind Magic – Air pressure”
—
Wind Magic – Air Pressure – Active(lvl 2 – 0.24%): Uses the air within the area to put pressure on the enemy, reducing their movement speed by 20%. Every increase in skill proficiency level would increase the movement speed reduction by 10%.
Cost: 1000 Mp
Duration: 5 minutes
Cooldown: 30 minutes
*Note: This skill can be resisted if the enemy is strong enough.
—
Freya learned this new skill after her skill evolved into .
As Freya used her skill, the man immediately felt that the air was pushing him downwards, which caused his movements to slow down.
Noticing this change, he then looked around and caught the sight of a little white tiger lying comfortably on the branch of a tree while looking at him.
Although he didn’t saw Freya used the skill, he knew that the little tiger was the one who used it, and also while looking at the little white tiger’s eyes, he suddenly felt extreme despair.
‘The information was wrong, f*** that arrogant noble. What little tiger at the spirit beast rank? It was a f***ing beast lord ranked beast”, the man said on his head as he blamed someone.
But due to this slight distraction, a major ant had successfully landed an attack, cutting one of his legs causing him to fall to the ground.
He was just about to shout due to the extreme pain, but the other 3 major ants immediately launched an attack and bit him, each severing one of his arms and legs, which caused him to shout louder and crazier.
After severing his arms and legs, the 4 major ants immediately backed off, and Anteva brought Ronald to him.
Ronald didn’t felt any discomfort upon seeing the man’s body. He thought that it was just normal, he thought of the man in front of him as another one-armed blade monkey.
During the many months that Ronald lived within the forest, he had realized that when a beast bared its fangs to him, it must be killed no matter what happens, unless he had a way to control it fully.
Pity is useless within the wilds.
And Ronald didn’t differentiate the man in front of him from a beast that had already bared its fangs at him.
After Anteva came close enough, Ronald jumped off her back and approached the man while holding his knife.
He didn’t say anything to him and just directly beheaded him.
Fengjun who was heavily injured with a broken arm and was currently lying on the ground was shocked at Ronald’s action.
His calm face while beheading the man caused him to shiver in fear.
Although he had already killed many people, seeing a 15 yr old young man killing a person with a calm face, terrified him to the core.
But he put a calm expression on his face, not changing it even if he was very terrified inside, this was his facade. He planned to attack Ronald when he came close.
After beheading the man, Ronald then looked at Fengjun, he had left him alive as he wanted to know who wanted to kill him.
He had remembered that the man with a great sword once said that he shouldn’t offend someone he shouldn’t offend, which really confused him. ‘Who did he offend?’ Ronald thought upon hearing the man said this lines.
Freya, who was watching all these things, stood up and flew to Ronald’s head.
After Freya landed, he immediately stood up and started walking to Fengjun’s place, before he sat facing him.
This scene didn’t cause a change in Fengjun’s face on the outside, but inside him, he was already crying.
Although Fengjun could attack Ronald in this distance, he didn’t dare to do so, as Freya was eyeing at him, releasing her beast lord aura.
“Who sent you to kill me?”, Ronald calmly asked as he looked at Fengjun’s eyes.
Fengjun was a man who was extremely afraid of death, that was why his mission success rate was at 90%, as he only accepted missions that targetted those people that were weaker than him by a great margin, and when he found something that could endanger him even the slightest, he would immediately escape or abolish the mission.
But this time, he was caught off-guard by Ronald’s 5 huge ants and the little white tiger with wings on his head, which was regarded as a spirit beast by the mission giver.
But he didn’t have time to be angry, as his life was now on the line between life and death.
As he heard Ronald’s question, he immediately found a small hope of survival.
“If I tell you, would you let me live?”
Fengjun asked with a calm expression, but behind that calm expression was a sweating back.
“No.”
Ronald directly answered to him calmly.
Hearing Ronald’s answer, Fengjun’s expression sunk down. His facade had been lifted up, he used a calm expression to let Ronald misread him as someone who wasn’t afraid of death. But Ronald’s quick and straightforward answer caused all his deception to be useless.
“Please let me live, I will do everything you say. I would even let you ride on my back and be your horse if you wanted to.”, Fengjun immediately said after Ronald answered.
Ronald was immediately confused as this was the first time that he experienced this scene. Then he thought, ‘Why would I ride on his back, I can ride Anteva’s minion anytime I wanted, and it would be more comfortable and faster than riding on his back.’
Thinking of this he immediately raised his knife preparing to kill him, as he thought it would be useless talking to him. He really wasn’t eager to know who sent them, and just ask him due to his curiosity. He would just make himself stronger, and those people would immediately not bother him, as he believed that strength deters all.
“Please, please… Don’t kill me, what do I need to do, for you not to kill me? I will find a way to do that, just don’t kill me.”, Fengjun immediately said as he immediately stood up then kowtowed to Ronald. It was as if his injuries were nothing at all.
Ronald’s knife stopped mid-air as he thought of something before he asked Luna mentally.
“What do you think Luna?”
“Actually having him act as a lackey would be good but that wouldn’t guarantee loyalty, so just kill him.”
“Why would I need a lackey? I can do everything alone. I can cook, I can wash my own clothes, and I can find my own food. Why would I need one?”
“Not everything can be done alone. One example would be information gathering. You must know that information will always be important, whether you are facing a beast or a person or any being of other races. Like now, if those three assassins knew that Freya was a beast lord, would they attack you? They won’t. They would first increase the reward of the mission and gather more people to kill you. That is how important information was. Also another thing, you aren’t appropriate to gather information, as you didn’t have any talent on it. But this guy here is an assassin, and most assassins are good at gathering information. It is just that they thought you are just a 15 yr old young man who lives in a small village his whole life. So, how would they expect that you would have a beast lord ranked beast?”
“I guess your right.”, Ronald mentally replied to Luna before he mentally sighed.
Fengjun watched Ronald’s expression, which changed from confusion, amazement then back to confusion, then finally became an expression that had made his final decision.
Fengjun was nervous as he wasn’t sure if Ronald would let him live, but based on the changes on his expression he can assume that he didn’t plan to kill him, but he wasn’t 100 % sure about this.
After waiting for some time, Ronald finally talked.
“I would let you become my lackey and let you live if you have something that would ensure your loyalty.”
Hearing what Ronald said, Fengjun immediately felt happy, and retrieve a piece of paper with unknown symbols on it. These symbols were known as runes.
Ronald received the piece of paper then used on it.
—
Name: Lifetime Slave Contract
Rarity: Rare
Effect: Use this to make a creature or any kind of being, that has a soul, become a slave. If any thought of betrayal was present on the slave, this contract would immediately terminate the slave’s soul, killing the slave directly.
Description: Use mana to activate the runes within the paper, and let the target drop a blood on the runes, and the contract would be completed.
*Note: This contract is irrevocable.
—
Fengjun knew that this was his only chance of living. Therefore, he hadn’t done anything funny.
This contract was found inside the magic ring of storage of his target on his last mission.
After they kill their target, they had the right to received all the target’s belongings, except if the employer needed a specific object that was within the target’s belongings.
He had planned to auction this thing as he knew that it would fetch a huge price, but he hadn’t expected that before he could auction the item, it would be used on him.
