Divine Beast Tamer - Chapter 43:Unusual Black Forest Wolf(2)
Ronald’s hunt wasn’t that fruitful in the day as he had only found few savage beasts and some normal animals. He wondered if he had hunted all the beasts in the area, but based on Anteva’s report, there was still a huge amount of beast spotted last night.
And so he decided to continue hunting at night, but first, he decided to prepare some dinner for them to eat.
So he started dismantling a horned rabbit, and then roasted it.

After sometime later, a pretty good smell enveloped the area, which means the meat was now cooked and ready to serve. This good smell was due to the seasonings that Fengjun left to him before he left.
But while Ronald was preparing to eat, a sound of a growling stomach was heard within the bushes.
As if the creature behind the bushes realized that it had been spotted, it slowly revealed itself and then sat on the ground. The creature that appeared was a common black forest wolf that can be found in most areas of the forest.
Ronald looked at Freya and wondered, why wasn’t this wolf afraid of Freya’s aura.
After the incident where Freya entered the enlightenment state, he knew that Freya would release her aura every time they stop hunting.
Noticing Ronald’s gaze, Freya looked at the black forest wolf. She was curious as well, she had already fully released her aura that would cause even weaker beast lord to run away, but the wolf still stayed on its spot, unmoving.
Ronald didn’t mind it and continued eating, as he thought that the wolf would leave after some time, as he also felt Freya fully releasing her aura.
But after some time, the wolf was still there. This time the wolf really piqued Ronald’s curiosity, so he used his skill on it.

Seeing the status of the wolf, Ronald then became disappointed and lost his interest, but Freya didn’t. She focused all her aura on the wolf which caused even the grasses on the wolf’s feet to be flattened, but the wolf still stood tall like an immovable mountain. Though Ronald didn’t notice this and just continued eating.

The moon now hung in the sky, bathing the world with its soft light, it was now time to hunt.
Ronald did a little cleaning on the area where they ate their dinner. And while he was cleaning, a sudden thought then came into his mind. ‘What happened to the wolf?’
Thinking of this, Ronald then looked around and saw the black forest wolf still standing, while looking at him. Freya, which was sitting beside it, was poking it on its side, but the wolf didn’t budge a bit.
‘Maybe the wolf was so scared, that it didn’t dare to move.’, Ronald thought before he continued what he was doing.
A few minutes later Ronald finished what he was doing, and was now prepared to continue hunting.
Ronald looked around and still saw the wolf standing on its spot, unmoving.
“This work again, its no fun at all.”, Selena murmured as she flew away with a downcast expression.
“Don’t worry after we get back to the village, I’ll let Fengjun cook everything you wanted.”, Ronald said as he saw Selena’s leaving back.
Hearing what Ronald said Selena’s ears moved a little bit before she faced Ronald with an excited and salivating face.
“Really, everything I wanted?”
Hearing Selena’s question, Ronald just nodded his head.
“That’s a promise… okay??? I’ll be back in a jiffy.” Selena shouted while flying away from Ronald at a fast speed.
As Ronald saw Selena’s figure getting smaller and smaller, he sighed. Ronald only recently knew that Selena loves food so much when she tasted Fengjun’s cooking. She even said that Ronald’s food was like a trash compared to Fengjun’s cooking. But Ronald didn’t get offended by this as he also had tasted Fengjun’s cooking and also agreed that Fengjun’s cooking was exceptional.
After seeing Selena leave, Ronald then decided to leave. He wasn’t worried that Selena wouldn’t find him as he knew that his connection with Selena was like his connection with Freya. Therefore, no matter how far they are from one another, they can still feel the general direction of the other.
Ronald slowly walked as he observed his surroundings and after some time he saw his first target for the night. It was a 3 meters tall spider-like beast with a fang that was dripping with green liquid, which Ronald assumed as a poison.

Ronald crept behind rocks as he looked above the branches of a tall tree where the spider’s webbing was situated.
While Ronald was doing this, Freya had already left his head and landed on another branch while not alerting the spider.
The web of the spider covered a section of the whole tree and some branches of other trees that were close to the branch where the spider was living.
Ronald thought of a plan before he picked a rock and threw it on the spider.
Ronald doesn’t really have a plan as he doesn’t have any skills or any attack that can be cast at mid-range or long-range. As for fighting close range, he must first let the spider leave its nest, as it would be very hard for him to fight the spider with all those webs around.
So he planned to provoke the spider and let it chase him for a while before battling with it.
But sadly, the spider didn’t get provoked by him and was just staring at him. So Ronald took another piece of rock and threw it with his full force. And that rock hit the head of the spider, but it still didn’t budge a bit.
Ronald was put on a tough spot, but after thinking for some time, he decided to leave and searched for another beast.
But as he was turning around, something caught his sight. It was the Black Forest Wolf.
It slowly crept within the branches of the tree where the spider was staying, which was still staring intently at Ronald.
As the spider was distracted by Ronald, it didn’t notice the wolf coming closer to it.
Ronald watched the wolf curiously, he had already seen the wolf’s status and knew that it was only a level 5 savage beast while the spider was a level 28 one.
As Ronald was wondering, a thought then came into him, ‘how did that wolf climb the tree.’
But as he watched the wolf’s action, he finally noticed a black matter surrounding the wolf’s feet. It was like the wolf’s feet were sticking on the tree, and was walking on the branches like walking on a flat land.
The wolf came closer and closer to the spider, and when the wolf was just about 5 meters away, it crouched down before launching itself to the spider’s head.
At first, the spider was shocked that someone had stepped on its head, but then it became angry as it felt that the creature that stepped on its head was just a weak creature.
