Divine Emperor of Death - Chapter 3768: Fourth Sister Found
“Elder sister Shirley… I’m glad you’re safe…”
“I missed you too~”
Shirley caressed Clara’s head softly as her soft fingers brushed against her blonde hair, knowing this little sister wasn’t good with her words.
Clara moved her head back and looked at Shirley, unable to believe the latter had grown so powerful. Not only was she powerful, but her facial features appeared to have become a bit mature. Perhaps it was the illusion of confidence. Regardless, Clara smiled lightly as she was genuinely happy that she found Shirley before things could worsen back in that city.
However, she doubted why she couldn’t sense Shirley’s divergence.
Of course, she understood Shirley wasn’t a Divergent but still possessed karmic burden, and that was the basis of being a passive Divergent who had changed their destiny drastically but hadn’t reached a level where it could be considered calamitous. Otherwise, even people who have karmic burden because they have learned some secrets of the universe would end up becoming Divergents.
Even if she couldn’t sense Divergent aura from Shirley, she would know if a person is on the brink of becoming one.
The fact that she couldn’t find such an aura in Shirley could only mean that Shirley had gotten rid of her divergence through some method.
“Did you do something to hide your Divergent aura, or did successfully crossing your Immortal Emperor Tribulation eradicate all of that?”
Clara knew that crossing a tribulation would clear one’s karmic burden, but it also depended on the level of the tribulation. An Immortal Emperor’s Tribulation could certainly clear more than half of the burden coming from the title ‘Divine’.
“Divergent aura?” Shirley pursed her lips.
She wasn’t fully aware of what Divergent aura was as she had never felt it but she understood the gist of it.
“Well, I did breeze through my Immortal Emperor Tribulation. Other than that, I don’t remember concealing anything other than my cultivation base. Do you not feel it?”
Shirley stopped using her concealment technique and spread her hands to the side as though allowing Clara to check her.
However, Clara shook her head, indicating that she could feel it.
Shirley grabbed her waist, looking troubled.
Then what was the cause Clara couldn’t feel her Divergent aura that previously made Clara hate her?
‘Wait… did the Gilded Realm Ascendant Pill have such an effect…? It conceals Divergent aura…?’
Other than having their prowess increase by many times in addition to their energy capacity as their vessels expanded even more, there was no such mention of what the pill was fully capable of.
However, if it had such an effect, then it would make sense that the World Master wouldn’t reveal it since everyone could be watching the projections. It would make no sense for such an effect to be exposed when it was meant to conceal.
However, was this temporary or permanent?
Shirley couldn’t tell, and she didn’t absolutely know if this was because of the pill, as there could be other reasons. After all, her divergence wasn’t that great.
She had revived Davis but that was when he was a non-Divergent. It shouldn’t be that great of a problem enough to haunt her even after she became an Immortal Emperor.
Her divergence could’ve naturally disappeared after she had cleared her Immortal Emperor Tribulation like, Clara doubted.
Nonetheless, she reached out her hand and patted Clara’s shoulders.
“Don’t worry. I’m Shirley, and you can rely on me no matter the situation.”
“I know…”
Clara’s lips curled. She didn’t doubt that this person before her was an impostor.
Shirley quickly ran to Panqa, hugging her. She even tried to touch her tail, causing the latter to tremble as though a predator had caught her. Shirley didn’t bully Panqa too much and nodded at Lanqua and Yilla, finding it likable that they braved danger to come here, although she could tell by now that they were all avatars after hugging them.
But Clara quickly got to the point, “Let’s leave first. There’s a Heaven’s Warrior who is on their way to the Revera Town. He could pursue us anytime soon.”
“Alright, let’s leave. Where to?” Shirley’s expression brightened.
She couldn’t wait to see Davis, but her expression suddenly sank.
“But wait… I can’t contact big sister and-”
Clara turned around but raised her hand, indicating Shirley to stop talking. She intended to leave the valley, but her brows narrowed as he looked into the distance.
She could sense the presence of another Heaven’s Warrior emerging, not expecting them to be on their tail this soon. At first, it was vague, but she could sense it more clearly as it approached. The only way out is probably these little caves leading to somewhere in these mountains, perhaps even a dead end.
“We’re cornered,” Clara uttered, not expecting the Heaven’s Warrior to have come this quick.
“Oh?” Shirley raised her brows, but Clara continued.
“We need to escape using the narrow caves or face the Heaven’s Warrior who’s coming, but I’m afraid we’ll be exposed if we choose to fight the Heaven’s Warrior.”
Yilla and the others also turned nervous. They had reunited with Shirley without getting caught, but it seemed like things wouldn’t go easy for them.
“Well, arrest me.”
Shirley put on her hood and reached out her hands, causing the others to blink.
“If the Heaven’s Warriors leave after seeing me apprehended, that would be great. If not, then Xiaolan will take care of the Heaven’s Warrior, won’t you?”
“Ski!?”
The sound of wings rustling came from Clara’s sleeves. A little icy-white phoenix head popped out from her sleeves, looking dejected.
“I didn’t expect elder sister Shirley to find me even after I have reached this level…”
“Hehe~” Shirley giggled.
*Bang!~*
At this moment, the boulders from the mountain behind them came sliding all the way down, crashing on the ground. A sickle sliced past a part of the mountain, and after a complete swing around, it changed trajectories, swinging diagonally in a criss-cross movement and completely splitting the boulder apart.
The sounds of chains echoed as Yilla pulled her sickle back and looked at them.
“What are you doing? If you’re going to try to fool someone, at least make it look real.”
“Right…”
Lanqua jumped and slashed with her sword, splitting apart the boulders. Panqa also joined in, but instead of clawing, she punched out, causing a majority of the front side of the mountain to shatter.
“Don’t go overboard…”
Zanqua lifted up her broadsword using her feet and flawlessly swung it down, causing a giant crater to appear in the ground. She did this a few times while Shirley watched, her eyes full of approval. Yilla was quick on her foot, the same thing that saved Davis from Zenova Artoria’s fickle nature.
But Zanqua was also good. She must say as expected of an ex-bandit. The placing of her attacks was realistic and compatible with what the others were destroying, allowing Shirley to imagine the battle in her head, making her understand that Zanqua’s experience in battle was vast.
At this moment, Clara also tied Shirley’s arm with an icy rope. She went to the additional lengths of tying up her body as well.
“Oh my~ If you present me to your big brother like this, he would go crazy and even kiss you on the cheek…”
“Elder sis…”
Clara slapped Shirley’s arm, her eyes almost rolling while Shirley giggled ever so lightly. Teasing Clara was one of her favorite pastimes as making her expressionless face blossom was like finding gold.
In a few seconds, the end of the valley was devastated by their attacks, making it look like a battle had ensued before the inheritor willingly surrendered.
As soon as they were done, a soul sense swept past them.
Only Shirley and Xiaolan were able to sense it. As for the rest, they were alerted by them.
“Beware of the Heaven’s Warrior. They’re extremely cautious, maintaining a soul sense perimeter of a thousand kilometers to block any sneak attacks. Also, don’t send any soul transmissions to me…”
Shirley warned through a soul transmission. At this rate, only Clara could speak to her using physical soul transmission as she was holding her shoulder.
They began to fly out of the valley, making it out halfway before they finally saw a white-haired man dressed in blue robes appear. He crossed the mountainside and hovered near the entrance of the valley at the very center as though blocking their path
