Divine Emperor of Death - Chapter 3780: Checking For Vendettas?
“Lovely fairies, I have brought most of the information you have requested except for the detailed information regarding the City Lords and the key figures of the realm’s royalty, as that would get us into trouble.”
The golden-robed man walked over and placed the jade slips on the empty table one by one in a neat order. He explained, “However, it should be fine if it’s just the surface information.”
Evelynn and Zenova Artoria lightly nodded, indicating that it was fine.
Once the golden-robed man neatly placed all the jade slips on the table, he revealed a smile full of glee.
“That would be five million High-Level Immortal Crystals, discounted and rounded, of course.”
Zenova Artoria nodded and gave him the crystals.
It was nothing to her who was also wallowing in the wealth plundered in the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm. In addition to what she got in the Candidacy, her wealth only grew upwards of hundreds of billions of High-Level Immortal Crystals.
However, she couldn’t use what she obtained from the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm carelessly, or she would definitely get caught.
Evelynn pursed her lips, knowing that was the value of a Mid-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Treasure, perhaps equivalent to a Level Four Immortal Emperor Stage Armament.
It was nothing to them, but it was a significant exchange for the intelligence network.
Besides, most of the information here was already compiled and kept ready to be read. Only new or confidential information would cost a hefty sum compared to what was already available and were only records of influential characters or happenings.
It seemed that this city, known for its unscrupulous reputation, at least had an intelligence network that sold information fairly instead of making a huge sum from it.
The golden-robed man’s eyes gleamed as he received the sum. There was also his extra twenty percent commission as promised- no, there was ten percent more, making it a total of thirty percent increase!
Only nobilities or wealthy merchants would be able to afford this kind of sum for information exchange. It made him wonder where these two had come from, causing his eyes to flash.
“I see the fairies have also requested the map of this realm. It is quite outdated since it has been over two hundred and eighty years since it was last surveyed. The next survey will be in twenty years but do not worry, as I will help you find what you need. If fairies don’t want to go sightseeing anywhere in the realm, then I can also arrange spaceships for realm travel. Do the fairies want to return home after finishing what you came here for?”
“Mhm~ That would be for the best,” Evelynn spoke for the first time.
Her voice was soft and gentle, even causing Zenova Artoria’s gaze to widen momentarily.
“Haha, it is said a fairy can’t stay away from her home even if her heart yearns to fly.”
The golden-robed man chuckled, “Then let me arrange the tickets required for the spaceship. I only need to know the destination for me to be able to book as the spaceships are always crowded- ah, I guess I don’t need to say that since fairies would’ve come in a similar manner or perhaps even have your own spaceships.”
“You think so?” Zenova Artoria raised her brows.
The golden-robed man’s lips curled, “If not, I assume you two left your home sneakily and boarded a spaceship to come here.”
“Smart~”
Zenova Artoria sounded like she was full of praise, causing the golden-robed man to look abashed as he rubbed his head.
“As for why we’re here, I’m sure you have figured out, but how about staying quiet?”
“These coarse lips of mine are designed to obey these two beautiful fairies.”
The golden-robed man zipped his mouth.
Zenova Artoria nodded approvingly and continued to read through the jade slips while Evelynn could only think how this man was being played to her tune like a fiddle.
Nonetheless, Evelynn also went through the map and found that the Three-Headed Hydra Lower Realm was connected to eight Lower Realms!
It was a surprise that this realm hadn’t fallen yet, but since the lands were lawless in nature, it could also be taken as there was almost nothing to protect and could freely attack.
In any case, she began to wonder if Shirley, Isabella, Davis, and the others were in this realm or in one of these realms: The Deceitful Horizon Lower Realm, Glass Rain Lower Realm, Roaring Ember Fall Lower Realm, Eternal Twilight Lower Realm, Radiant Cascade Lower Realm, Ivory Moon Sanctuary Lower Realm, Frozen Wasteland Lower Realm, or the Ghostly Crow Lower Realm.
These were the realms the Three-Headed Hydra Lower Realm was connected to— not through spatial tunnels but space, the third layer.
Space above the skies was a dangerous vast expanse where spatial storms were plenty and impeded paths to other realms, but there were a few parts of space in certain directions where the path remained free of dangers like spatial storms, allowing the lifeforms to travel while only encountering minor or mild resistance.
That is what it meant by realms being connected. If they could pass through those pathways in space, then they could arrive at the realm on the other side.
She knew this from Myria, but to see it once again made her lament how vast the universe was, making her heart ache for her family.
When would she be able to reunite with them at this rate? It couldn’t be that they were sent to Upper Realms, right?
Her gaze flashed with a bit of sorrow before she continued to consume the pot of information.
She learned about this city’s history. It was over seven million years old.
Furthermore, the City Lord appeared to be an old yet young-looking Empyrean who had been ruling this city for over seven million years, which meant that he had never abdicated from the City Lord’s position. This allowed the City Lord to keep tight control of his influence whenever he needed to.
However, Evelynn was more taken aback by the fact that the City Lord was an Empyrean.
Apparently, it was quite common to find Immortal Emperors and Empyreans a lot more due to their long lives. Considering the Transcendent Cultivation System had only spread widely for the last five million years or so, it was understandable that there were an equal or slightly smaller number of high-level immortals in the realms than the Sovereigns and Autarchs.
Nonetheless, it took some time to go over everything.
After they went through the information, Zenova Artoria sighed ever so lightly.
“Any interesting matters happening in this city recently other than the same old vendettas going on for hundreds and thousands of years?”
The golden-robed man remained silently diligent, waiting for them to speak first before he uttered anything.
“To be honest, it may not relate to what you’re looking for, but there were a few spatial anomalies in this city on this day.”
“Oh?” Zenova Artoria’s brows raised, “Is this related to that high-above ruling?”
“Yes. Let me put the tab on this one on the house.” The golden-robed man grinned.
“A few people were captured, and one seemed to have escaped after killing a guard. Apparently, the head guard was struck by a terrifying karmic attack that made him blow up into a fountain of blood instead of dying like a withering leaf. It seemed that he died without even knowing what hit him as he couldn’t raise any alarm, but I have to apologize beforehand as we don’t know the culprit’s identity.”
“It matters not…” Evelynn blinked, “Right?”
“Right~” Zenova Artoria nodded, “This kind of information is for old people who guard the realms and not for us, but… wouldn’t it be safe to know more just in case…?”
She uttered with some doubt, causing the golden-robed man to laugh.
“Haha. Every key figure is paying attention to the news regarding the wicked Inheritors and the Divergents. Information is constantly shared with the other realms at a great price, but the Heaven’s Warriors are paying for it. If you want, we will periodically provide you with juicy information for a relatively cheap price.”
“…”
At this moment, Zenova Artoria lowered her head as though considering, but her gaze flashed ever so lightly as she gained access to the information she was finally eying on.
Evelynn inwardly sighed. Zenova Artoria didn’t ask for such sensitive information. She made him say it of his own volition without receiving the slightest bit of suspicion.
That was scary in her books.
