Divine Emperor of Death - Chapter 3893: Dead Disturbance?
*Whoosh!~*
Davis traversed the skies, his robes fluttering yet not creating any waves in the air, as any form of waveform was extinguished while he was in a concealed state. To catch him using one’s sight would take immense focus on his location and the perception of a Late Stage Empyrean, something that most of them here lacked.
He breezed by the walls of the ruined Obsidian Citadel and flew past the Vacuous Beasts that were trying to wreak havoc.
It was still a capital, so it had a city-wide Empyrean Grade Defensive Barrier put up, which blocked the advance of the Vacuous Beasts. Besides, the Realm Masters and many Grand Elders were here to subjugate the Vacuous Beasts.
The problem was the wretched stench and the toxic blood they left behind. It could make a lot of people sick and kill them.
However, Davis was indifferent to their plight.
He looked at the city, knowing almost every single one of them who had gathered here wished death upon his friends. He didn’t want to go as far as slaughtering them with his own hands as people do tend to flock like a mob and righteously meet out punishment to evil beings, thinking they were all righteous. For the same reason, since they were here, they were bearing the consequences for it, so he deemed that it was well deserved, an eye for an eye.
This calamity was going to be blamed on him anyway, and the truth was that— he was indeed at fault, but he was unapologetic since they all wanted him dead even if he wasn’t responsible for this calamity.
Davis rushed past the Obsidian Citadel, heading towards the northern edge where Rokushi Mirai was located. He didn’t bother to take the route the Heavenly Blight Hall had planned for him.
Since she fulfilled her end of the bargain, he couldn’t just let her die. The number of cultivators who went to check the disturbance she created didn’t match the number of cultivators who returned. This meant that there should be another group that went to hunt her despite them having received the news that the Divine Emperor of Death was in the Obsidian Citadel.
Davis couldn’t help but think the Heaven’s Warriors were just too cautious and prepared. Empyrean Miller Skyrend was even prepared to commit suicide to take him down. Perhaps if Lombart Blackstone had also been serious, saving his friends might’ve been more difficult.
Regardless, with Saintess Lunaria’s disciples by his side, nothing could’ve stopped them, probably not even Autarch Elluro Coldwing, although they would’ve certainly been held in one location for a long time.
Saintess Lunaria’s disciples were all just too strong, and four of them were avatars.

Davis’s speed was over two hundred million kilometers per second, even in a concealed state, although it rapidly drained his energy. After crossing over five thousand million kilometers in half a minute, he switched to using an Empyrean Grade Flying Ship.
He plundered a lot of spatial rings, so there were just too many items in his hold now. He needed to take care of it before he left the realm, and they could be traced back with Mystic Diviners or even tracing formations and items. Fortunately, his spatial ring, a Peak-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Spatial Ring, was already etched with anti-tracing formations.
Even if it couldn’t block powerful tracing methods, it blocked most half-hearted and common tracing methods out there. Hence, he rarely worried himself about being traced back. He knew he could be traced back to when he stole because plundering was his main source of income, so he had already come up with countermeasures against it a long time ago.
He flew, tracing Rokushi Mirai’s location with his senses as he had marked her with his soul sense. The flying ship flew fast, warping and speeding through many regions before he finally obtained a semblance of her location with his senses.
Davis narrowed his brows.
He didn’t know if she was still alive, considering he just attached the mark to her shoulder and not her soul. Regardless, even if she died, he felt like he must at least see to it that her corpse wasn’t humiliated, as he would give her a proper burial.
Without meeting her, he never would’ve gotten the black-white stone. Even if she wasn’t willing to give it and went as far as fighting to the death because of it, he was thankful that he got to meet her. Otherwise, saving his friends nor entering the Immortal Emperor Stage within the brief span of a minute or two would’ve been possible.
His biggest problem had been taken down, and all that was left for him was to lie low until he reached the peak of the Immortal Emperor Stage and became ready to enter the Empyrean Stage.
Slowing down the flying ship, he aligned the ship and warped straight to her as an Empyrean Grade Ship rarely needed to be in a stable space region due to how durable it was.
A spatial vortex opened up in the skies, and Davis’s flying ship flew out, buzzing with the sound of propulsion and spatial booms before it came to a stop.
He walked to the edge and looked over the sides, spotting the battle between Rokushi Mirai and three Level Two Autarchs. She seemed to be barely holding on, her body battered and bloodied.
“Makes sense that they sent weaker ones to keep an eye on the disturbance in case me being in the Obsidian Citadel was false or a distraction…”
Davis’s lips curled.
Rokushi Mirai could take on a Level Three Autarch without a problem and survive. However, there were three Level Two Autarchs with a prowess that seemed to be a level higher. They seemed to be equally matched as the Heaven’s Warriors were also injured, some patches of their skin covered in a dark, poisoned state, but the truth was that Rokushi Mirai was running low on energy.
No matter what, an Immortal Emperor would be hard-pressed to compare to the energy levels of an Empyrean, much less three of them. If it weren’t for the Gilded Realm Ascendant Pill of Minor Realm she had taken, it would’ve been hard for her to survive.
The Autarchs naturally noticed the flying ship appearing out of a spatial vortex as it created intense undulations, but they merely recognized it as one of their own. They didn’t see him, the Divine Emperor of Death, standing beyond the railings.
