Divine Emperor of Death - Chapter 3931: Having Some Fun
Davis naturally knew why, as Soaren was separated from his family. As a forthcoming and straightforward Golden Crow, he was a passionate man and cared about his people a lot. To be separated from his family with their fates unknown has got to hurt.
However, Davis knew Soaren hadn’t said anything or left to avoid causing trouble for him. After all, if Soaren left, then Fenren would also leave in search of his family and thereafter could be caught and implicate Davis once again. They could see it happening and remained silent, not troubling him.
However, that just made Davis feel guilty.
That was also why he wanted to bring them here to talk. Another reason was that he was finished with his evolution technique and wanted them to rise in bloodline rank.
If he could change their bloodline, then they would not be easily recognized. That would allow them to travel on their own if they so decide to.
They were all men, after all, glad to give up their lives for their families or die trying. At least, that’s how he viewed them as friends and sworn brothers who have a similar vision.
Nonetheless, he wanted to bring the topic up at the end of the banquet, so until then, he was having fun, talking pure bullshit and insulting each other. Even Zenflame and Rocksunder were chill, although they always had been chill in his eyes.
They were able to bond quickly, bickering and laughing together regardless of their cultivation base or status since Agis was the weakest but still respected for his strange wisdom.
It must be known that Agis was Natalya’s grandfather, but Zenflame and Rocksunder were even older, even though they were actually younger if went by age instead of the year they were born, so Davis was amused by himself over this strange gathering of different generations from different times.
The immortal world truly was crazy.
“Woah!”
Abruptly, two pipsqueaks appeared in the scene. They were mounted on a flaming lion that had a preposterous tail.
They were none other than Eterna, Celestia, and Katherine.
“…!”
Davis abruptly stood up in shock. Katherine had just transformed into a Quaking Earthflame Lion. Was it already safe for her to carry Eterna and Celestia around?
He was alarmed, but looking at Eterna and Celestia seated on top of an armored handle on top of Katherine, appearing to have already possessed immense control over her flames as there was no magma on her skin, Davis inwardly heaved a sigh of relief.
“My dear children…”
Davis walked towards them, intending to hug them. Eterna and Celestia had grown a bit bigger than before. They were almost seven years old, if he wasn’t wrong. However, it was difficult to determine their age as they stayed long in time chambers.
Only a bone-age detection formation would tell their age precisely.
His two daughters got down from Katherine and ran towards him.
Davis’s face melted as he spread his hands and waited for them to jump into his arms. However, they ran past him, making his expression sink.
“Uncle Drake!”
Eterna and Celestia ran towards Drake and innocently laughed at him. They exchanged a few words about wanting to play later before Drake gave them a few candies. They gleefully accepted it but did not forget to rob a bit of meat from their table and mounted Katherine before they fled.
Davis still had his arms wide, his body frozen.
The reputation of his two daughters traveling far and wide and imposing themselves on people was something he had heard a lot. He had seen it before and seen it once again, becoming speechless. They even ignored him, although he understood that it was because he hadn’t come to see them after returning.
They were sulking and would melt if he confronted them. They were also probably angry that he had changed Katherine without their consent. It seemed like he may have to spend an entire day with them if he needed to console them.
Regardless, Davis heaved a sigh of relief as he saw they were still having fun. However, his expression twitched as he looked back and stared at a golden-robed man.
“Uncle Drake? Have you been seeing my children without my knowledge?”
“Sigh…” Drake stood up, his hands behind his back and his looks that of a scholar as he looked into the distance, “If a father fails to impart love and affection to his daughters, then naturally, the daughters would expect that from another man-aghh! Heylp!”
Davis’s two hands clenched Drake’s throat. The latter looked like a chicken that was going to be strangled to death, while the former looked like a devil who had stepped out of hell, his undulations blaring with fury.
“Ahahaha!”
The others couldn’t help but laugh their hearts out.
“Be very careful.” Zenflame warned as he pointed towards Rocksunder, “This bastard here stole my daughter right when I wasn’t watching.”
“What? You’re the bastard!”
“You wanna fight!?”
Rocksunder and Zenflame clashed, their wine spilling all over the place as their shoulders clashed.
“Die!”
Hearing that, Davis cast the death knell on Drake, who screamed for his life.
Only as Drake was about to faint did Davis let go and drop him, laughing at his sorry silhouette. Still, he grasped Drake’s hand and pulled the bugger back from the ground and walked him to the seat and made him sit down, and patted his hands as though washing him off before taking a seat himself.
“Hmph. You better keep your hands off my little flowers.”
Davis harrumphed, causing Drake to cough incessantly as he regained his breath. His neck was red, but he still seemed to smile deviously as though he had grasped a weakness, which further made Davis tremble.
“You-!”
Davis was about to explode when Drake quickly switched his gears and raised his hand to interrupt.
“I, Drake Blackburn, solemnly promise to protect your little flowers.”
“…!”
Davis struggled not to throw out a punch.
A husband would also protect his wife! This promise was something that did not soothe his heart one bit.
Looking at Davis lose his cool, everyone couldn’t stop laughing. Even when his gaze fell on them, they could only look away yet still continue to laugh, albeit silently.
“Hehe, jokes aside,” Drake continued, “They’re lovely children. I would also like to have children with my wives someday.”
He sighed, his expression abruptly becoming forlorn.
Davis was about to hurl insults but calmed. He looked at Drake, raising his brows, “How the hell do you not have a single child?”
“Look, I’m not at my peak yet. Until then, we have chosen to endure.”
“Yeah, right.” Davis sneered, “Don’t bring your old-world values into this world. Do you truly think your wives are enduring as well as you? All they want is your children, but you can’t even provide them with their utmost wish.”
“…” Drake’s expression changed.
It could be seen that he knew but still hadn’t made a decision.
Davis sighed lightly, “I’ll tell you you are not wrong. Even a while back, our friend Fenren here almost got his wife Renfa and the child in her womb killed because he couldn’t hide and had to take care of the clan.”
*Cough!~* *Cough!~* *Cough!~*
Fenren began coughing before he looked at Davis, wondering why he was used as an example, “…”
That was not fair, but he had no words to retort, which caused him to obediently lower his head.
Davis continued, “Even I don’t have enough time to nurture my kids, and I hate that a lot. I understand wanting to be a responsible father. However, time isn’t available, and danger never goes away. If you wait, wait, and keep waiting to find the right time in this universe filled with strife, you will never have children. Your women will also hold this against you and curse you when you die and leave them alone.”
“Bruh…” Drake dropped his jaws, his expression blank.
“I’m serious.”
Davis spoke, “Of course, my advice may not fit you, but the way I see it, they already lost you once, almost when you ascended to find me at the behest of my father, so they wouldn’t want to risk it again if you don’t leave them with something to hold on to.”
“…” Drake’s gaze trembled before he sighed, “You’re right. It is time I may finally need to have children of my own. You got a safe shelter here, too.”
“Yeah. I have a good environment to foster your daughters.” Davis’s smirk grew wide into a vile smile.
“…” Drake shuddered before he raised his hands, “Understood. I won’t be anywhere within two steps of your daughters.”
“Good.”
“Hahaha!”
Davis chuckled as though he won, eliciting a few more waves of laughter from the crowd. They talked bullshit until the banquet came to an end, and they were all more or less filled, rubbing their stomachs and burping, satisfied.
“Brothers, now that this banquet and fun times have come to an end, we can come to the topic at hand. Fenren, Soaren, and Andiron. I can finally make you three evolve your bloodline rank into that of a Great Saint Magical Beast, so those who want to save your family from your clans can do so with much more confidence.”
“…”
The three of them looked at Davis in shock.
It must be understood that not much time passed since he even told them that he could probably make them into a Great Saint Magical Beast, so why was he acting like he could do that already?
The others were also shocked.
They were astounded but also terrified of his cultivation and comprehension speed that they would like to low-key ask him to slow down and not leave them behind.
