Divine Emperor of Death - Chapter 3933: Initiating Variance
A few hours later, Davis took Soaren to a lonesome spot in the vast void dust land.
He had Stella create a mountain range to cover up the area. Although Stella couldn’t create vegetation, she could stack sand and create a few mountains through elevation. Once she was done, she waved goodbye and left, leaving Davis and Soaren in this place.
“Really? A cauldron…?”
Soaren’s brows twitched as he looked at the massive cauldron in front of him. It was over twenty meters tall, looming in front of him like an ancient monolith. Judging by its material and runes, it seemed to be at Empyrean Grade or Autarch Grade. It didn’t have a spirit as it seemed to be fairly new, but the runes etched on it even interested him.
“Yeah, I’m going to refine you and the yin-attributed resource until you’re near death and then evolve you. This should light up the flames of your bloodline and redirect the evolution in a way that relies on something to revive you. It would make you an Infernal Sunfire Crow instead of an Inferno Goldsky Crow, according to my theory. At the same time, I will add a catalyst within that you have to endure, which is this-”
Davis explained nicely, which caused Soaren to sweat severely before he saw Davis take out a golden-black wisp.
The moment it came out, Soaren could feel an intense amount of yang energy fill the space. It instantly made the silent space vibrant as it glowed with a golden light, transforming the void dust land into sparkling and glittering motes of dust.
The scene itself was very beautiful under the starry skies.
However, Soaren couldn’t help but feel scared.
He could sense a terrifying aura from the golden-black wisp, one that even his own yang flames weren’t willing to come near to. Yet, he could find it strangely attracting him.
“You’re also going to… fuse that with me…?”
“Yup.”
Davis nodded with a deep smile.
He flew before the cauldron and took out a heavenly resource— Deadpan Yin Hyacinth.
It was one of the treasures from the third floor of the Mystical Herb Mansion that Isabella brought back. It was for Natalya. However, its seeds were also useful. It was an ingredient for many ancient recipes Myria possesses, and one of them stated that it was also useful for changing yang to yin.
Davis was going to use its seeds.
He threw the seeds into the gaping cauldron and lit up the flames. A massive blaze erupted underneath the cauldron before Davis turned to look at Soaren and gestured with his head.
“Get in.”
“…”
Soaren could only wish that he wasn’t roasted and eaten. Nonetheless, he didn’t complain and transformed into a massive crow with a black body and golden wings. He was bigger than the cauldron. However, as he jumped into the cauldron, his own size became smaller as the cauldron’s spatial formations contained a big space inside.
“No, enter in your human form.”
He turned to look at Davis, raising his brows, “Are you sure? The main form will integrate better as it has better absorption.”
Davis shook his head, “I know, but if I don’t reach your core within time and fail to use my technique, you’re screwed.”
“…”
Soaren blinked, wondering if he had got himself into a cauldron of certain death. Nonetheless, he nodded before he sank deeper into the cauldron.
‘All I have to do is endure and keep enduring until I regain consciousness or don’t…’ Soaren’s golden eyes shone with a firm light. He was determined to endure the roasting no matter what.
Davis rose above and began heating the cauldron more. He was practically roasting Soaren alive. However, he wasn’t just idle; he used his senses to control the heat and fuse the seeds with Soaren’s body.
“The seeds will integrate with your yang body and, through the cauldron’s refining process, will begin altering your bloodline. Naturally, you’re going to die if left like that, but that’s where I swoop in and introduce heavenly yang into your body and force your bloodline to fuse with the integrated resources as I initiate your core to undergo bloodline evolution, causing it to grasp whatever is at stake.”
Davis said loudly, but it was unknown if Soaren could even hear him under the terrifying refinement.
As time passed, the cauldron’s dark glow shifted, turning from blue to a faint, shimmering gold as Soaren’s flame energy began to surface, pushing back against the yin seeds trying to integrate with him. Yet, the fiery inside of the cauldron eradicated Soaren’s flames and allowed the yin seeds to bloom within as they integrated within the body.
Davis could faintly hear screams.
He could only imagine what Soaren was going through, but he could see it with his senses ever so lightly. Soaren’s glow had dulled. His body convulsed, wracked by the opposing forces waging war within him, yet at the same time, he was being roasted alive by the cauldron.
Davis patiently waited. As minutes passed, the air thickened.
Just as the balance threatened to tip, Davis moved.
From his life ring, he whipped out the heavenly yang wisp and jumped into the cauldron himself.
Instantly, scorching heat enveloped him, threatening to roast him as it was dong to Soaren. However, Davis didn’t lower the intensity of the flames, and neither did his body appear to be burned. He went into the scorching refinement where the powers of the cauldron tried to churn his insides, but his chaotic body was too strong.
He instantly appeared before Soaren, who appeared to be floating but had gone silent. He was naked, but his entire body was scorched black with flesh and blood continuing to evaporate from him. His facial features couldn’t even be recognized.
Regardless, Davis quickly imbued the annihilative heavenly yang— golden-black wisp into Soaren’s heart. Davis could sense the changes that were already taking place. The yin was like poison to Soaren’s body, but under the threat of being burned alive, his body accepted the changes, integrating within in order to survive.
At this point, Davis used his evolution-attributed technique, the same one used on Katherine to upgrade her bloodline.
Outside, Stella appeared in the skies, taking a peek.
She looked at the cauldron as she hid behind a mountain, wondering what was going on. She saw the cauldron’s space change colors from blue to golden to white. She couldn’t understand heads or tails but viewed it with interest.
After some time, she got worried after seeing Davis not come up.
She could sense his aura blaring from within the cauldron. However, judging from the intensity of the flames, she doubted even a Level Nine Immortal Emperor could survive. This wasn’t just being burned alive but also being refined, so Stella knew Davis’s defenses wouldn’t last long if his energy couldn’t keep up.
After a few hours, Stella clenched her teeth.
His physical body would be refined into a pill if he stayed any longer, or so she thought and dashed towards the cauldron, intending to bring him out.
*Screech!~*
However, a piercing cry reverberated across the skies from the cauldron, and a flash of light shot into the skies from the cauldron, causing Stella to reel back in shock.
She looked up, noticing a gigantic bird flapping its wings and flying to the nearby mountain on the other side and crashing into it. Void dust dispersed throughout the air before revealing a sleek form of what was a Golden Crow once. Its feathers, once pure gold, now gleamed with a radiant mix of gold and sapphire, although his eyes were still shining golden.
These wings rippled with an ethereal brilliance as the bird flapped again and flew above.
It gazed at the mountain with animosity for blocking its path and abruptly summoned terrifying flames that emerged from its wings. Instead of the gold-crimson flames that the Golden Crows possess, these flames were dark blue, glowing as though they represented the highest intensity of a star.
*Ssszzzz!~*
Dark blue flames crashed into the mountain, which was made up of void dust, completely burning it up. It burned the mountain to the ground but didn’t stop as it unleashed flame wave after flame wave, going as far as to create a crater within the area of that mountain.
Suddenly, its dark blue flames started to flicker over the wings.
It seemed like it was going to go out from a lack of energy or because it simply wanted to stop. However, the dark blue flames abruptly took on a golden hue and devastated the land as it spread further and stronger, destroying the nearby mountains as well, dispersing them into oblivion.
“Wahh…”
Stella’s jaws dropped as she saw the destructive force of the bird. Its dark blue and gold flames had completely reached the realm of Supreme Laws if she wasn’t wrong.
“…!”
At this moment, she sensed Davis coming out of the cauldron, but when she turned to look at him, she jumped as she saw his scorched body. He was charred black, appearing to have gone bald and possessed numerous wounds from the refinement, but a few seconds later, every part of his body began regenerating underneath a calm, white glow.
“Perfect…”
As Davis saw the destruction laid waste by the bird, he couldn’t help but smile.
“Soaren has successfully become a variant Infernal Sunfire Crow. Incredible… his base prowess is already five levels higher. If he became a King-Tier Beast, his prowess would reach eight levels higher, and if he became an Emperor-Tier Beast, his prowess would reach ten or even eleven levels higher…”
He shuddered, becoming fascinated by the evolution technique and his own ingenuity to come up with this ridiculous method.
*Screech!~!*
Abruptly, the Infernal Sunfire Crow turned to look at them and screeched. It dived from the skies, heading straight towards them.
“Soaren, you still there, buddy?”
Davis asked loudly but didn’t receive any answer other than the bloody crow swooping in and ramming straight toward him, trying to stab him with its beak as its new yin-yang dark blue-gold flames blazed.
