Divine Enchantress: Night Emperor’s Beloved Consort - Chapter 59
Soon, Jiang Ying Yue went to the lake and found her friends standing there along with their lanterns. They appeared to be going along pretty well. Or so she thought.
-5 minutes before Jiang Ying Yue arrived-
Fan Xiu stood in front of Liu Weimin. He still had that calm and serene aura around him.
Liu Weimin was quite nervous being alone with him.
There were less people now at this lake so he was even more nervous than before.
“Young Master Liu, I want to ask you something.” Fan Xiu said.
Liu Weimin gulped. “Sure. What is it?”
“Are you interested in Ying Yue?” Fan Xiu asked straightforwardly.
Liu Weimin was taken aback. He seemed to realize something. “No I am not. I just want to be her friend. Why? Are YOU interested in her Young Master Fan Xiu?” He emphasized on the word you to him.
That question had Fan Xiu thinking for a bit. Was he interested in her? At first, he was just curious. Then he just wanted to be her friend but seeing her with Liu Weimin just now made him feel uncomfortable. Maybe he was indeed interested in her?
“Maybe? Maybe not? What I know is I don’t like seeing you too close to her. But now that I know that you don’t have feelings for her, I am relieved.” He said honestly. His tone was low and he still sounded calm.
Liu Weimin had a weird expression on his face but Fan Xiu was to preoccupied with his thoughts to notice.
Suddenly, Liu Weimin saw Jiang Ying Yue coming so he reminded Fan Xiu. “She’s here”
Fan Xiu’s expression remained the same but his aura relaxed a bit. He was a bit tensed before hearing the answer from Liu Weimin’s mouth.
But he knew, that he could not trust this man fully.
“Hi! Did you guys wait here for long?” Jiang Ying Yue asked.
“Not at all!” They both answered in unison.
“Let’s write our wish on the lantern or a piece if paper and tie it on the lantern.” Liu Weimin suggested.
So, all three of them chose to write their wishes secretly on a piece of paper.
Jiang Ying Yue’s wish was: To be happy and love freely.
She wanted to be able to love and protect herself, her family members, master and friends. She wished to break free from her past memory with Su Zihao and move on. She wanted to live for herself.
The trio then released their sky lantern.
They saw their lanterns rising and flying away.
Thousands of lanterns flew in the sky making it look beautiful. With the full moon as the background, Jiang Ying Yue felt as if she was dreaming.
Their lanterns then separated and moved away from each other. But at this moment, a foreign lantern moved towards Jiang Ying Yue’s lantern and they collided.
She was scared that the lanterns would fall but in fact, they did not. The lanterns just got stuck and flew together.
At the same time, a young man was also looking at his lantern flying together with a stranger’s lantern.
He searched and found a girl in indigo robe looking intently at the lantern attached to his. He could not see her face as she wore a veil but something about her made him wanting to look at her more.
He then retracted his gaze and looked at the lanterns flying together.
He did not believe in this kind of things but he decided to give it a try.
He then walked away.
At this moment, Jiang Ying Yue retracted her gaze from her lantern just in time to see a silhouette of a young man walking away from his spot. He was quite far away from where she stood.
“Are you done looking at your lantern Yue Yue?” Liu Weimin asked.
“Yea. Oh right. Here, I bought you guys tanghulu.” She gave the tanghulus to both Fan Xiu and Liu Weimin.
Finishing their tanghulu, then walked back.
But right when they were walking, Jiang Ying Yue heard like someone was calling her.
“Jiang Ying Yue~ Jiang Ying Yue~” The voice was low and melodious. It sounded like a woman.
Her chest tightened without knowing why.
She turned around but saw no one.
But right in front of her eyes, was the full moon. Looking at it, she somehow felt her blood boil for one moment and sad the next moment.
It was as if the moon was calling out to her.
She felt uncomfortable and he feet started moving backwards on its own.
She could swear that she saw the moon started changing to blood red in color.
Her chest hurt and she could not hear anything. She could only stare at the moon.
She retreated and retreated then..
She back bump into someone else’s body. That person’s chest was hard and sturdy.
That bump broke her from free from whatever that situation was and she hurriedly turn to apologize.
She bowed her head. “I am sorry Sir. I didn’t see you. It was my negligence.”
Then she turned and walked away. Her two friends hurriedly chased after her.
The man that she bump into, was precisely the same young man who had his lantern collided her lantern.
Before she bumped into him, he had the sudden impulse to stop his steps and stare at the moon. It was as if the moon was calling for him.
It was then when he paused and stare at the moon that Jiang Ying Yue bumped her back into his body. Her head knocked his chest.
He did not feel the sudden impulse to throw the girl away for bumping into him like he usually did. In fact, he even felt empty when the girl left him.
One thing he caught was her scent. It was a lovely floral scent.
He had already changed his appearance just for the sake of appearing in a public place today. But once thing he couldn’t change was his icy-blue eyes.
His icy-eyes looked over at the direction the girl went.
No one knew what he was thinking but after awhile, he shook his head and walked away.
His hidden guards were surprised that their master didn’t throw that girl away when she collided with him just now.
Maybe master was in a good mood.- They thought.
