Divinity Modded Core - Chapter 8 The Elves Meeting The Lords Of Divinity
[One of the Elven Village Guards]
The armored race seemed to have come out of no where. They passed our divine wards like they weren’t even there. The Goddesses priest laid those wards herself! Then again they were able to sense charm magic! When we tried to charm them into telling us about themselves they nearly cut us down in an instant. Where did those blue swords even come from! The Chief took care of things though. They entered the Judgement Hall and talked there. I think it got violent at one point. That aura that spread out was terrifying. Everyone close by immediately fainted. Luckily the pressure disappeared as fast as it came. That aura was even more terrifying than a dragons! Well, the chief should be awake at least. He managed to temper his mind in the Goddesses aura at least. So he probably wouldn’t have fainted in front of the armor race. After a while the armored race left. One of them offered to shake the chiefs hand, but the chief refused. Who knew if the guy would crush the chiefs hand if he shook it.
[Elven Background Talk]
“Those armored race have started to trade with us, at much better rates than those from the Embassy.”
“It’s been so long since I’ve had meat it was always too expensive to buy before!”
“This much for a few low level enchantments and some basic books on magic? The Chief is amazing!”
“Beyu won’t be able to gather support of the council from the looks of it. Silvereyed managed to snag a trader of this level gathering him much more support than Beyu.”
“BACON!”
“These new traders are terrifying!, you weren’t there when they arrived at the Judgement Hall. Don’t trust them!”
“You must try this! They called it spiced jerky and it tastes amazing!”
“Ahh it burns!”
“That was my pepper jerky!”
[Chief Silvereyed’s POV]
Divinity… Are these of armored race gods? They don’t have that otherworldly presence on them. They are frightening though. Even the Goddess didn’t pressure me as much as they did. And they weren’t even focusing the pressure on me from the looks of it. That was only from uttering their titles! When I tried to us it said that they were unable to be identified! That’s unheard of, I’ve heard level too low to be identified, or it’s too damaged to be identified. But never has the system said that something was unable to be identified. They seem ignorant however. I mean, why else would they have adopted a Dire Wolf. They seem to want to know everything about everyone. Including me. It’s hard doing a serious conversation when they suddenly ask you questions about your personal life. I can’t believe how many times I had to repeat that I wasn’t gay.
“Are you sure your not gay?” I must have been asked that about seven or nine times. It came from the one who called himself the Lord of Death! They were surprised when I told them that the Dark Elves lived underground. Then the one called the Kanyon the Lord of Energy started to mutter about upgrading something. In the end it was only the Lord of Pride and I discussing business.
After finding out they had meat I felt like I went from hell to heaven. I ignored their aura put as much effort as I could into coming up with a deal with them. Eventually we reached a consensus and we were able to trade a few magic items and books for at least three wagons full of different meats! Beyu won’t be able to take the position of Village Chief anymore. This has pretty much cemented my position.
