Don’t Go Breaking My Heart - Volume 1 Chapter 11 Haircut
It was a bright sunny day. The breeze was light and welcoming. The streets were filled with all sort of people from different walks of life.
*Ding*
The door opened revealing a handsome and tall man.
“Welcome! What would you like today?” The attendant was lovestruck at first sight.
“Your boss,” the man answered in a husky voice as he scanned around the room.
“Please have a seat, and she will be with you in a moment.” The attendant walked towards an inner room while turning back to steal glances at the handsome man.
“Boss boss boss!!!!” She called out in urgency.
She heaved a sigh when she saw her boss with headphones on and what seemed like an Indian movie on the laptop.
Her boss had an obsession with heartbreaking romance movies. She walked forward and tapped on her boss’s shoulder.
Claudia turned around with a face filled with tears.
“The male lead and the female lead must have separated unfairly,” she thought to herself as she shook her head at her boss.
“What’s up Bev?” She asked as she put the headphones away and faced her employee.
“There’s a gorgeous man outside asking of you,” she replied smilingly.
“Man?”
“Yeah. He’s tall and well-built.”
“Did he mention anything?”
“No. I only said my usual greeting and he replied, ‘your boss’. Then I made my way to you.”
“Okay, I’ll be right out. Thanks Bev.”
Beverly bounced away happily like a rabbit that had just been fed the tastiest carrot. She adjusted her clothes before walking over to Justin.
“She’s on her way,” she said, flashing her prettiest smile.
“Thank you.” He nodded politely.
“You came.” Claudia walked out of the room still embarrassed about the video call. It had been a week since that horrible night, and this was the first time she was seeing him since then.
They had messaged daily just for a brief chat. He called twice. One time he had to drive and he couldn’t text. The second time, he didn’t give an excuse.
“I promised,” standing up and meeting her half way.
Bev’s eyes bulged out like she had just witnessed an unbelievable sight. Her boss usually kept away from guys and locked herself in the staff room to watch her movies. This was the first time she saw her fierce boss embarrassed.
Keeping her head down, she said in a tiny voice, “haircut?”
“The regular.”
She pointed him towards a seat, and he obediently sat.
His hair still felt the same against her hands. She instantly got into work mode, cutting his hair to make him look more perfect. The obedient customer observed her closely while enjoying her service.
Their eyes would collide once in a while when they both look at each other’s reflections in the mirror.
“It’s all done.”
He stood up and assessed himself in the mirror. “Do I look good?”
“You look great.”
She bit her tongue after she let it slip. He did look great, and she tried to cut his hair in a way that brought out his facial features.
“As long as I look good in your eyes,” he said, looking away from her.
Her cheeks turned crimson red from his remark. “He’s such a flirt,” she thought.
“Do you wanna grab something to eat together?”
“Sure. Let me grab my purse.”
Bev was like a monitoring spirit. Her crush had been stolen away by the boss, but she still shipped them hard. They looked perfect together.
“I’ll be back soon Bev. Grab lunch too,” Claudia said as she made her way out the door with Justin.
