Don’t Go Breaking My Heart - Volume 1 Chapter 2 Justin Bolton
“Would she think I’m a pervert or a pedophile?” He asked worriedly.
“Brother, as long as you approach her once she’s 18, you’re safe,” Kevin assured his brother.
“Just seeing her smile makes me smile. She’s like a happy virus I don’t mind getting infected with,” Justin Bolton chattered on.
“Yeah… yeah… She’s your little rose that can’t be plucked. She needs to be left alone to grow beautiful. I’ve heard this speech a million times. Spare me dear brother,” Kevin Bolton interrupted his brother’s admiration with a pleading voice.
“What do you know?” Justin rolled his eyes at his younger brother.
“Yes, this young blood knows nothing. I’m so pure like a white lily flower. I’m so beautiful like a rainbow,” Kevin said in a cheeky voice.
“Narcississt.”
Justin Bolton is a 21-year old college student studying Business Administration. His younger brother, Kevin, is Claudia’s classmate and a cheerleader for their nonexistent relationship. Justin had spotted Claudia when he went to drop off a permission slip off for Kevin at school. She was laughing at someone’s words. Her laughter was so captivating and at that moment, it seemed like everything had stopped and a bright light shone on top of her head, placing her in the spotlight. From where he stood, he could see her beautiful hazel eyes, and she was rocking a blonde hair. She was wearing a simple T-shirt paired with a faded jeans and black sandals. Her hair was tied back in a bun. She made his world still and his heart race.
“Bro, you should at least meet with her “coincidentally” and make your mark in her life,” Kevim said.
“What if she sees me as an older brother and boom! I get brother-zoned? I want her to see me as a man, her man. So I have to wait,” Justin said with a determined look.
“She has a good friend at school and he’s a boy. What if he likes her and she agrees? There’s very little I can do,” Kevin said as he stared out through the glass.
“I know that too, but am I just supposed to pop out like Jack-in-the-box? I don’t want to scare her,” he said as he recalled her beautiful face in his mind.
“Well, here she comes,” Kevin said as he turned his brother’s head towards the door of the cafe.
When Claudia came in, Justin’s heart beat so loud, his younger brother could hear it.
“Calm down cupid,” he said, making fun of the heart struck lover.
“She’s so gorgeous.” He clearly couldn’t take his eyes off of her. The last time he saw her was when she got her current hair dyed about a month and a half ago. Because of school, he’s hardly around, so he doesn’t get to see her a lot. This was the 7th time he had seen her. She was even more beautiful than the last time he had seen her at the grocery store. Her smile got brighter, and her lips got pinker.
Claudia ordered a banana-strawberry slushie. While waiting for her order, she spotted Kevin who was smiling right at her. The person sitting across him had his back towards her, so she didn’t know who it was. She approached Kevin, and Justin bolted out of his seat to the bathroom.
“That’s definitely a number 2,” Claudia thought as she watched the man run off.
“Hey Kev. What brings you to this part of town?” She asked smilingly.
“Claud, I live just around the corner,” he replied, rolling his eyes at her.
“Just follow the script. You’re so boring,” she stuck out her tongue at him.
“My brother’s home, so we were catching up.”
“Was that your brother that ran off?”
“Yeah. Why?” Had she finally noticed my lovesick, poetic, and charming older brother? Kevin thought to himself happily.
“The number 2 must have been be strong for him to dash off like that,” she said as she laughed out loud.
Kevin felt like crying for his poor brother. The love of his life was getting farther and farther away.
“He must have had too much to eat,” he said as he shrugged.
Before she could probe more, her name was called from the counter.
“My order is out. I’ll see you later at school,” she said as she waved at him.
“See you,” he replied.
5 minutes after Claudia left, Justin came out.
“I have no words for you Justin,” he said as he shook his head.
“Not to be s.l.u.tty, but I wish I was the straw in her slushie,” said Justin in a daze.
“Ew.. who are you and what have you done with my cool brother?”
Justin ignored him as he daydreamed about their next meeting. He had to make his presence known to her soon, or else his chance would slip.
“My dear Winnie, wait for me,” he thought as he smiled to himself.
