Don’t Misunderstood! - Chapter 114

“Okay, your point being?” Klein asked while raising his brows and Kayden smiled at him

“When we were still kids, everything was simple. We would only have a problem of what bedtime story we want to hear before going to bed”

“As we grow older, a lot of things have influence us. In the end, we take most simple things and turned them into complicated things”

“Look at that little kid, she oversimplified things. I mean yeah, she was young and naive but just because we are older doesn’t mean we have to make things complicated, right?”

Kayden explained and Klein sank in a deep thought. He somehow think that Kayden was right but it’s not easy for him acknowledge it

After all, Klein don’t want to see the important people in his life worried for him all because some random straight guy broke his heart

Klein want to be as far as possible from the stereotypes that gay people has

“I-I… I don’t know” Klein said in a low voice

“I don’t know what happened to you today but I assure you, as long as you still don’t have a definite answer, things would always be like this”

“You would always want to talk with him but also want to get away in fear that you would fall deeper”

“Some days, you would be alright but there would always be something that would happen that will make your mind a mess again”

“Who knows? He might even move on while you are still trying to find answers. Maybe while you are still figuring out what you want, he already fell for someone that makes him feel safe and secure”

Kayden’s words were like knived stabbing Klein’s heart, especially the latter part. His face fell as he remembered how Calix was flirting with a girl he doesn’t even know

Who knows, Calix might have given his number to that woman and they were already in the talking stage

Just thinking about it makes Klein frustrated and he can’t help but lay his body in the pool of balls while releasing an exasperated breath

“Arghhh, I don’t know anymore” Klein said with a groan and Kayden lightly shook his head

“Klein, you know, I can give you tons of advice that can become helpful in the current situation. It’s fine for me to do that and it’s fine for you to take your time. In fact, it was also good for you to continue resting,  that’s your right”

“However, from what I can see, resting is almost impossible for you. I can see that the guy you have feelings for meant something to you. His influence on you was bigger than I had originally thought”

“From what I can see, even if you want to rest, as long as there is something that happens and it involves that guy, you would still be disturbed”

“No amount of advice can stop your heart from experiencing various emotions because of that guy. Resting is good but as of right now, I think it’s not the most ideal way to deal with the situation”

Klein had to acknowledge that Kayden was really good. Kayden told him that he has every right to rest when they first met and think about things first

However,  this time, Kayden accurately judged that Klein would bit be able to rest since Calix affects him this much

“Arghh…” Klein can only groan in frustration again

“Pfft, you sometimes really act like a kid but you don’t think like one” Kayden commented and Klein pursed his lips

“Why are you always treating me as if I was much younger than you?” Klein questioned while waving his hand to throw the balls around towards Kayden

“Secret!” Kayden replied with a grin before he remembered something

“Oh, right. I’m actually here to buy a gift for my cousin. His birthday is coming up soon. Although he doesn’t particularly like receiving gifts, as the cool cousin of the family, how could I not buy him one? Help me find a gift for him!” Kayden asked while trying to act cute which was cringeworthy for Klein

It’s not easy to associate the current kinda childish Kayden to the Kayden earlier which seems to be a life guru

“Fine, consider it as my repayment to you” Klein agreed and he stood up

The two exited the Kidsville which people at their age don’t really play with and they strolled around the wall

“How old is your cousin anyway? 5? 10?” Klein asked so that it would be easier to pick a gift

“Nah, he’s not a kid anymore. He’s actually around your age” Kayden replied and Klein momentarily stop in his tracks

“Based on your words earlier, I thought your cousin is a little kid that isn’t fond of presents” Klein said while shaking his head

I mean, would a man that is trying hard to be the ‘cool cousin’ mostly only racks their brains when it comes to kids?

“Nah, he’s far from being a kid. Most kids would always have a smile on their face but he was mostly poker face or frowning when people approach him. Tsk, tsk, he should really learn something from me. Look at how friendly and approachable I am! I even become the cool cousin of the family!”

Kayden boast of himself and Klein can only shake his head helplessly. He has to endure the arrogance of this guy since Kayden showed him goodwill

“In other words, he’s like the opposite of you. Hmm, you look like the type of person that likes stuff toys, personally made items or foods, stupid stuff, etc. So, we just have to think of things opposite to those” Klein mumbled as he sank into deep thought

However, he wasn’t able to think much as Kayden suddenly grabbed his shoulders in excitement

“That’s it! I finally thought of the perfect gift for my cousin!” Kayden exclaimed in excitement and Klein’s face was filled with question marks. Seeing how excited this man was, Klein somehow have a bad feeling

“And that perfect gift is…?” Klein question and the foreboding feeling that he had grown stronger

“I’ll but him stuff toys! Especially the cute ones! Hahahahaha!” Kayden answered while laughing hard

“From your description of your cousin, he doesn’t sound like someone that would like those kinds of things” Klein said with a frown and Kayden grinned at him

“Hehehehe, yes, he doesn’t like those but that’s the point! Just imagining how bad his expression would become as soon as he saw my gift already makes me thrilled!” Kayden replied in excitement

Klein “…”

Is this really the same guy that gave him those advice earlier? Maybe, Kayden has a dissociative identity disorder

Just looking at this excited man was enough to make Klein’s head hurt

“Instead of being the cool cousin, I feel the annoying cousin title suits you better” Klein commented while his face was twitching at how childish Kayden was acting

“So mean!” The man said with a pout. “I’ll let this pass since you helped me figure out the best gift. Let’s go! We have to find the cutest and most colorful stuff toy!” Kayden said excitedly and he starts dragging Klein to go in a toy store

Klein facepalmed himself and just let Kayden drag him

After some time, the two entered a toy shop. Many pairs of eyes instantly landed on them

The people around start whispering with each other as if the people they were talking with cannot hear them

“They both look handsome!”

“I know right? Are they boyfriends?”

“Possibly!”

“Gosh, we girls are really pitiful. All the hot guys ended up with each other”

Despite those people whispering, Klein can still perfectly hear them, and his face twitches again

Why do people assume that just because two guys shop together, it meant that they are boyfriends?

Anyway, Klein don’t have the energy to bother with them and he just trailed behind Kayden

The two of them scanned the shelves with their eyes while looking at the various stuffed toys in the shop

After some time, Klein’s eyes landed on a certain teddy bear. It was around 12 inches long and its color was beautiful

It was a combination of blue, pink, and purple. It fits Kayden’s criteria of a cute and colorful stuffed toy. That should be enough, right?

Unfortunately, Kayden aggressively shook his head as if Klein’s choice was the worst choice ever

“No, no, no, I can’t give that to my cousin. It should be at least that big!” Kayden said while pointing at a certain stuffed toy

Klein felt like being Kayden’s cousin was the worst thing ever. The teddy bear that Kayden just pointed at was a human-size one!

It was even taller than the short Liam!

Kayden said that his cousin doesn’t like stuffed toys yet he planned on gifting one to him. If that wasn’t, enough, Kayden even wants one that is big

Klein can only feel pity for Kayden’s cousin
