Don’t Misunderstood! - Chapter 118

“Fufufu, you two even talk the same. Ahaaa, this must be because of love!” Kayden said while covering his laughing mouth. He was completely enjoying this scene much to the annoyance of the other two with him

“Go away you freaking old man! I don’t want you here!” Calix shouted while making a shooing motion with one of his hands

Kayden dramatically gasped in shock, acting really offended. “H-how dare you to call me an old man? I’m just thirty-two years old!” The man said dramatically and he even took some steps backward for an added effect

“T-thirty two?!” Klein blurted out in shock, his jaws almost falling into the floor. This guy was actually that old already? Klein can’t believe that!

Let’s all ignore how Kayden only looks a few years older compared to Klein. Does a 32 years old man that is this childish actually exist?

This world is really terrifying!

“Don’t be fooled by that asshole’s appearance, he’s already an old uncle” Calix confirmed while turning his head to look at Klein

As of right now, one of Calix’s arms was still wrapped on Klein’s waist from behind. Calix was literally hugging Klein from behind and now that he turned his head to look at him, their eyes met in a dangerously close proximity

That familiar sweet milky scent engulfed Calix’s nostrils as his and Klein’s eyes trembled

Eye contact might be simply to normal people but to those that have feelings for each other, eye contact is mystical

It has the ability to make you forget everything around you snd your vision could only register the person that your heart yearns

“M-move, y-you’re too close” Klein said in a low manner. His voice was as soft as a tomato. He was worried that Calix would hear his loud heartbeat from such a close distance

“R-right, s-sorry” Calix awkwardly apologizes as he moved away from Klein in regret

The two stood there with an ambiguous atmosphere between them. Their eyes don’t have the courage to look at each other anymore

They literally look like some high school lovers that just started dating

Too bad that there is someone that is always there to destroy their moment

“Am I invisible?” Kayden asked loud enough for the two to hear

“Old man, I’m warning you. If you don’t go away now, I’ll make sure that you wouldn’t be able to walk out from here alive. Do you want me to complain about you to my aunt? I bet she would be furious at how her son still hasn’t grown up” Calix threatened with a devilish look in his eyes

He looks like someone is that would literally skin Kayden alive if he were to say one wrong word

Fortunately, the threat this time was effective. Hearing about his mom,  Kayden was frightened as he shot Calix a teary look

“Calix you meanie!” Kayden cried out before running away and only then did Calix heave a sigh of relief

However, Kayden still hasn’t gone far when he turned his back. “Klein, don’t forget everything that we talked about today, alright?” Kayden shouted with a wink before running away completely

That causes Calix to raise his brows as he looks at Klein that was dodging his eyes

“I-I have to go too” Klein bluffed before walking away but in the next second, he found his back against a wall with Calix in front of him

Calix even cornered him with his arms as if he would cage Klein forever

“What are you doing?” Klein questioned with a frown, the way Calix looks at him is making him uncomfortable

“Don’t like that bastard. He’s already married” Calix said seriously that causes Klein to raise his brows

“Just because I am with a guy doesn’t mean I like him already” Klein said coldly. What the hell does this Calix think when saying that?

Klein never looks at Kayden in that way. Tsk, this is why Klein doesn’t like straight guys. They are prone to being prejudiced against gay people

They are really not people that Klein should like

Calix realizes that his words came out wrong judging on his frosty Klein looks at him and he immediately explained himself

“No! That wasn’t what I meant!” Calix said desperately yet Klein was still unmoving”

“Say whatever you want to say. I don’t have much time for this nonsense” Klein said coldly as he look straight into Calix’s eyes

It was devoid of any positive emotion and Calix knew that this is not good. If he doesn’t clear this misunderstanding, Klein might really hate him

“W-what I’m really saying is I-I’m jealous! Don’t misunderstand me!” Calix said loudly out of frustration and Klein’s eyes instantly went wide open

Calix… jealous…?

Klein’s heart beats faster than before and he could only try to distract himself by thinking about anything else than Calix’s words but it wasn’t working

“D-did you hear me? I said I’m j-jealous!” Calix repeated after not receiving a response. His face looks so desperate as if he was a puppy yearning for love

Klein gulped a mouthful of saliva first before speaking while moving his head to the side. “I-idiot”

That was the only word that Klein could say. He was too speechless. He doesn’t even know what to say as if his entire vocabulary got deleted

“Yeah, I’m really an idiot. Even if you don’t like me, I still can’t let you go” Calix agreed with bitterness in his voice

He looks so hurt that his expression pained Klein’s heart. It feels as if someone just stab his heart with multiple knives and it was a horrible feeling

Before Klein knew it, his hand already moved on its own to touch Calix’s face

“I-it’s not like that” Klein muttered softly. All the words that Kayden said to him earlier rang in his mind

Kayden was right. He really should make a choice right now. It wouldn’t be good to drag this suffering for a long time and Klein was not originally someone that always run on his problems

Calix’s eyes trembled as he was filled with anticipation. Could it be… Klein is going to admit his feelings for him now?

Calix can’t help but want to hear certain words coming out from Klein

“I-It’s not like I don’t like you” Kleon started while rubbing his fingers on Calix’s cheeks

Their warmth was transmitted to each other as if they were exchanging body heat. It stirred their insides in an indescribable way, making the atmosphere between them even more ambiguous

“The truth is… I-I too… have some feelings for you… e-even if I don’t want to admit it, I do l-like you too”

Klein finally confronted his own feelings and admitted them to Calix

In Calix’s mind, it was as if spring has arrived or fireworks bloomed in the skies. His heart feels as if it would burst any time from now

His whole body was trembling from excitement and he was overjoyed. Even winning a lottery wouldn’t feel as good as this

It was like every cell in Calix’s body was celebrating and jumping from joy. He was so excited that he almost jumped on Klein right that instance

However, Calix’s celebration still hasn’t officially started when Klein broke his beautiful wonderland of imagination

“… b-but doesn’t mean, I can like you. I’m sorry” Klein continues with a bitter smile

He really can’t. Klein doesn’t have the guts to take a risk on a straight guy. The two of them are just different

At a young age, Klein already knew his sexuality and he always want someone that is the same as him

There are a lot of challenges that they would face. Receiving prejudice from their relationship would he a common thing

Klein still don’t trust Calix enough to think that the latter could survive the harshness of this world

They do have feelings for each other but it was just at the initial state. Klein still don’t like Calix enough to take such a huge risk with him

With a face that has a mixture of pain, grief, regret, bitterness, and unwillingness, Klein moved Calix’s hand away from the wall to get out of the human cage

With a heavy heart and footsteps, Klein walks away. It feels as if he was wearing weights in his entire body

Although he ultimately decided that he could not accept Calix’s feelings, it doesn’t mean that he too wasn’t hurt

Klein is hurt that he and Calix could not be a thing as real life is not fiction. In the world, the chances of a gay guy having a relationship with a straight guy that lasts until the end are astronomically low

Klein doesn’t want to end up getting hurt as that would also hurt the people that cared for him, his family, and his friends

Calix watched Klein’s back in a daze before opening his mouth. “W-why? Why can’t you like me? Why can’t we be together? I don’t understand it!”
