Doulou Dalu: Reborn As Tang San - Chapter 6
I can now confirm without a shadow of a doubt, that I am probably hacking real life right now. At first, I presumed that my rate of improvement was the result of spirit energy and/or the nutrition I got from the realm; well that was until I found myself starting to brazenly surpassed limits that should be physically impossible.
And I can tell you one thing; being able to comfortably carry 15kgs while going on a 50km run, managing to last 15 minutes straight while shadow boxing underwater, climbing a rock face by only using 3 limbs and finally being able to keep smithing all afternoon. Should’ve well surpassed what a 5-year-old boy could have handled, spirit energy or not, as those exercise should’ve destroyed or at least crippled my body.
But here I am, fit as a snorlax, happily hammering away at a heated kunai. Which begs the question:
‘How am I not dead yet?’
Well the most probable hypothesis I could think of is that, I somehow receive some residual DNA from when my mom was a spirit beast; granting me the tenacity and adaptability of the spirit grass.
But this should be impossible as it was stated in the novel that when a spirit beast undergoes the human evolution they would lose previous their abilities. Unless by ‘previous abilities’ the author meant they only lose their abilities/power and not their physiology, which now makes a lot more sense. As this would explain how Xiao Wu could keep up with Tang san, in terms of physical prowess without proper training; during their time at Nuoding academy.
Sadly, what I did with this information was underwhelming.., for me at least. As this just meant that I could double or even triple the training that I could do, without having to worry about any injuries. And honestly, I truly do not despise training my body anymore; in fact I have actually grown so accustomed to it that now, I can’t even fall asleep peacefully, without having done a good workout.
As for spirit control training, I’ve been trying out the tree climbing exercise, but have no luck in figuring it out. By now I’m starting to believe that it is only applicable via chakra. So instead I’ve dedicated my time to controlling my inner and other energy control.
For my inner energy control, I’ve been trying to enhance a single body part instead of the whole limb that’s connected to it. For example, strengthening my just palms without the energy going through my fingers. My goal for this technique is to be able to use spirit energy efficiently and being able to attack or defend using a short but powerful burst instead of sustaining it for the period of the battle. In a decades time, I guesstimate that I should have enough control to be able to enhance the major muscle effectively.
Finally, my time in the realm, is just me theorizing and experimenting about what exercises I could do next. Unfortunately I can’t cultivate or do physical activities alm, as it doesn’t transfer over to my real body. Although the realm does help me speed up my learning in the technique department; I found that, while muscle memory does not transfer over, the knowledge of the experience does.
Meaning that by doing control exercise in the realm, I can accumulate memories of the experience, which aids me in learning it faster in my physical body. I can only compare this scenario to a decent boxer, who for some reason took a 10 year break and a complete newbie. Now, during that 10 year break, the muscle memory of the boxer should’ve disappeared or at least diminished. But I can guarantee that in a ‘fair’ fight the boxer would win the fight between them, as he has more knowledge and experience than the newbie.
I can confidently say that in the physical department alone, I have beaten the novel’s Tang San. But if him and I were to fight then the only conclusion I can see is:
“Novel San spanking me”
Which is understandable as I have only spent these years straightening my body, while he spent his practicing the ȧssassination arts and base on my hypothesis of the neural pathway development; Novel San should’ve already been as skilled as the average teenage practitioners in the Tang sect or maybe even more. Honestly I’m eternally grateful for receiving my gifts from God, otherwise I have no hope of ever surpassing Novel San.

I was now 6 years old and today was finally the day when the awakening ceremony was going to take place.
In the Spirit Hall a Spirit Grandmaster name Su Yuntao explained about the ceremony and how it would be done, he didn’t have any hopes for these people to awaken Spirit Power.
Just as he had said out of the seven kids apart from Tang San no one had spirit power and even their spirits didn’t suit battle. There were even some trash spirits among the bunch.
At long last, it was Tang San’s turn, when Su Yuntao poured his spirit power onto the six awakening stones a pale golden light shone. Warmth, this was Tang San’s first sensation, as if his whole body was wrapped up inside nice and warm world, unspeakably comfortable.
His Forbidden Heaven Skill’s internal power started to fluctuate, soon the warm energy surged into his hand and a blue light appeared on top of it, soon a Blue Silver Grass was formed, seeing this the Spirit Grandmaster was a bit disappointed. But he didn’t notice that this grass actually had a few golden veins on its surface.
[Spirit Awakening Successful]
The awakener then gave the crystal to Tang San to test if he had Spirit Power and when he took the crystal into his hands a shocking thing happened, the blue crystal started to glow with a blue colour with a slight layering of golden.
“Heaven’s it’s actually full innate spirit power!!”
After that, he was disappointed by the fact that his spirit was only Blue Silver Grass. He then went out and informed Old Jack about this year’s result. When he heard that there was actually someone who awakened Spirit Power he was extremely happy but when he got to know that it was actually Blue Silver Grass his mood hit the dumps. He then started to curse Tang Hao for not being able to give Tang San a good spirit.
He then turned towards Tang San and asked if he wanted to go to Nuoding City to attend the school to learn about the Spirit Master Cultivation Method.
Tang San truthfully replied that he would go only if his father allows him to go. In fact, the only reason he wanted to go there, was to read all the books that the grandmaster has and to get Xiao Wu. Which wouldn’t be worth 5 years of time, considering that if he could activate the 3rd tomoe of the Sharingan then he theoretically has a photographic memory and with the help of the realm, could easily read all of it in 1 or maybe 2 years.
Old Jack then accompanied him back home to convince Tang Hao to let him go to Nuoding City.
“Old Jack, what are you doing?”
Jack angrily said,
“Today is the day of your son’s spirit awakening. Don’t you know how important this is? Other people’s families have both their parents accompanying them. You should go as well”
Tang Hao, ignoring Jack’s taunts, as usual, his gaze once again shifted to his son,
“Little San, your spirit awakened? What is it?”
Tang San said:
“Dad, its blue silver grass”
“Blue silver grass?”
When Tang Hao rejected the offer he was shocked, no matter who, if they have an opportunity they would definitely want their kids to become spirit masters. But here, he was completely rejecting him. They argued for a while before Old Jack was sent off by Tang Hao.
Tang San apologised in his stead and properly sent him off, he turned to his father who asked him to show his spirit. When he showed his Blue Silver Grass, Tang Hao’s mood was completely disturbed. He stared at it for a while before he went back to his room,
“But dad, I still have another spirit”
Tang Hao who went back to his room suddenly came out and when Tang San showed him the pitch black hammer in his other hand he was shocked,
“This, this is…..”
