Draconic Online - Chapter 8
The Goblin Chief was definitely going to be a challenge. The Banana guild members seemed rather nervous. Silver broke the silence.
“It has less hp then I thought it would.”
The others party members looked at Silver in surprise. That’s a thousand HP you’re talking about!
Sofia gave a slight chuckle, and the atmosphere lighted up quite a bit.
“Lets give it a try, Sofia you’ll grab its aggro, use HP potions on cooldown, Ashton focus all heals on Sofia try to keep her at full hp, running out of Mana is not acceptable so drink Mana potions on cooldown i’m sure Silver will cover the cost.” Eric stated with confidence, Silver had no reason to take control of the situation, he had no experience working as a team, and only excelled at controlling himself; still he was told everyone’s skills.
Luckily for the party, Ashton was one of the few current healers who had more then one healing spell, the guild spent a lot of money to procure a skill book named regeneration for him.
Cast Time: Instant Cast. Instantly recover an allies injuries.
– Heals Target for 30 (Intelligence*1.5)
Cost: 8% Maximum Mana (24)
Cooldown: 6 Seconds
Cast Time: 3 Seconds, Accelerate the process which a body heals.
– Heal a character by 6hp/second(.3 Intelligence) for 18 Seconds
– Movement cancels the skill placing it on cooldown
Cost: 40 Mana
Cooldown: 1 Minute
After reading Regeneration Silver was much more confident in battling the boss. Sofia Slowly approached the boss, before activating .
“kakakakakaka, some more food has arrived for my men!” Surprisingly the Goblin Chief was capable of speaking. The goblin took out a makeshift spear and accelerated towards Sofia.
“BANG!” The spear crashed against Sofia’s shield, blocking was an important mechanic for defensive classes, without proper blocking bosses would wreck havoc. Sofia took about one eighth of her hp as damage in an instant.
Ashton showed great timing finishing his casting at the same moment Sofia took damage. Instantly followed by a attempting to top off Sofia’s HP.
At that same time Silver, and Eric made their move. Silver used his bread and butter combo dealing a chunk of the bosses HP instantly. Eric also dealt decent damage. Monks have a resource named Ki which increases their strength, Gaining Ki required one to deal damage during battle with ones fists, This means as the battle goes longer Eric will be gaining strength. Such a resource showed its effectiveness best against Bosses.
In just a few second with everyone’s combined efforts the bosses hp was reduced by 10%.
“Puny Humans, daring to fight back!” The Chief Goblin seem changed his stance.
“Retreat” Silver taking notice of the new stance calmly called out. Everyone listened to the call without a thought.
The goblin began a quick spin with his spear sweeping away everything in its path. Luckily due to Silver’s call everyone was able to escape from its range.
“Attack” Silver called out again.
With Silver occasionally calling out the bosses cyclone attack the fight went smoothly, until the boss reached 50% HP. The bosses Spear started to shine, Silver made a quick decision
“Sophia dodge!”
Sophia attempted to jump out of the away but with no bonus movement speed she was much to slow. The Spear pierced through her shield and dealt an insane amount of damage.
-150!
Sophia who was struggling to stay healthy was instantly brought down to 60 HP. With health potions and Ashton’s healing Sophia’s was able to lose HP slowly against the boss, but was unable to heal faster then the boss dealt damage. With this burst of damage the situation became critical.
Silver, and Eric were unable to increase their DPS any further, and could only continue their onslaught of attacks. When the boss reached 20% hp Sophia was only a strike away from death. With no way to lose aggro Sophia Smiled.
“Don’t Lose.”
Sophia said her first words to Silver, then fell to the ground.
After Sophia fell Ashton was the next to be focused, although he was able to run the boss around for a few valuable second he was killed off in just two hits. The boss now at 15% HP turned towards Silver.
Silver was deathly calm, he first activated Speed of Wind, and accelerated away from the boss, The boss quickly charged at Silver ignoring Eric who was landing blow after blow, A problem then aroused.
“AHHHHHHHHHH” The boss yelled and bloody aura was unleashed. The Goblin Chief who just reached 10% HP was now enraged!
With its movement speed doubled Silver had no chance of escaping. He activated , and concentrated on the bosses attack preparing to counter. The Goblin Chief swung his spear straight down attempting to slam Silver into the ground. Silver moved slightly to the side resulting in his Parry Dagger being perfectly matched with the spear and attempted to slightly redirect the spear away from his body.
“Bang!” The spear hit the ground creating a small crater inches away from Silver. Even though Silver did not take the spear directly he was still nearly killed in one hit leaving him with only 20 HP remaining. Silver immediately used on the Goblin Chief’s neck dealing high damage. The Goblin Chief quickly went for another swing on Silver, but Silver activated completely dodging the strike. With Eric’s constant damage the boss was down to only a couple dozen hp.
The boss located Silver quickly and prepared to finish the job, after activating Shadow Blink Silver immediately started running away from the Chief buying as much time as possible for Eric to finish the boss. The boss still caught up to Silver quickly and was ready to finish the job. Silver unafraid went for a desperate attack. He struck the Goblin with his dagger, but it wasn’t enough!
The still breathing Chief’s spear arrived at Silver’s head.
“Bang!”
The Goblin Chief immediately vanished into a multitude of items…
Eric had finished the Goblin Chief off at the last possible moment!
“Ding” Silver and Eric both immediately leveled up.
They fell to the ground together, catching their breaths…
The Goblin Chief has been defeated!
After a few more moments Eric stated
“I really didn’t think we would succeed” Eric said still shocked
“But Sophia, and Ashton died” Silver said rather dejected, having never lost a comrade before.
“Since we won all is good. Tanks are probably going to get used to dying a lot compared to other players, and Ashton needs something to curb that arrogance, maybe something nice dropped for them.” Eric nodded at Silver to pick up the items.
Silver stood up and walked over to the corpse picking up the three items that dropped.

Bonus: Shield Block: On successful Block reduce incoming damage by 40%.
A Strong Shield! It gave nearly as much defense as Silver had total. The shield was obviously meant for Sophia so Silver gave it to Eric to hold until she was able to respawn in a hour.
They moved onto the next item,

Bonus: Each time a target is struck inflict Bleed (1%) on target, (Stacks up to 5 times)

A Bleed will increase damage taken from all sources by the percentage of the affect (1% increased damage per hit up to 5%). Although the attack was a little low the Bonus was very strong, making it a suitable weapon for Eric. The final item was

Equipment Requirement: 25 Dexterity.
Attack + 14
Attack Speed + .3
Bonus: Frenzy: Increase Attack Speed, and Movement Speed by 20% for 10 Seconds
Cooldown: 30 Minutes
A fantastic Dagger! Silver was able to equip it due to the Dexterity he instantly gained from leveling up. He quickly placed a second attribute point into Dexterity (26), and the other into strength (11). After doing so he equipped the Dagger. With these new upgrades Silver was confident in defeating the next two bosses without casualty. Silver and Eric decided to give the 80 Silver dropped by the boss to Ashton. Finally bringing a conclusion to a Legendary party’s first boss kill!
