Draga Of The Vanguard - Chapter 15 The Battle Of Asfaleia
The empowered Rei went on a rampage. He began attacking Vanguard troops, defeating each one he faced with a single punch. He let out a roar, clearing away the soldiers that had surrounded him and went ahead to attack even more Vanguards. At this point in time, the Fog Giant had been defeated, but a new threat had surfaced in the form of Rei. The Vanguard were confused, as there was no protocol for a child turning into a pure monster. Rei made his way through the army, and came face to face with an elite. He grabbed him and threw him towards the wall. He was unstoppable like this. Then a small elite stepped forward. This elite was no different, except the fact that the helmet glowed green. Rei rushed at this unique opponent with a twisted smile.
Meanwhile, squad 209 had gone to check the head of the Fog Giant. Then they saw something come out. It was a strange sight. This creature was definitely an imp, but it wore a child’s shirt and trousers. It had strange headgear, consisting of a strap with two holes which held pieces of glass. It was wearing brown gauntlets and a bag, and its teeth were relatively human. “Kekeke… .”
It spoke in a strange language…but something was definite. It was speaking. It suddenly turned around and aimed its gauntlet at Morte, then fired several spike projectiles. ” .” muttered the imp as Morte’s body turned to shadow and he dodged the incoming progectiles. “The hell! Imps don’t have range!” shouted Pierre as he shielded himself from a ridiculous amount of projectiles. “Well this one does!” exclaimed Gars as he hid behind some debris, which was being fired at. The imp suddenly stopped firing and swung its metal gauntlets to its back. Morte was knocked away and the imp aimed its arm at him. He quickly vanished. “Saw me coming….this guy’s intelligent.” he said from no disernable location. The imp then brought out two metal discs from its bag. It threw these discs at Gars and Pierre, and in a second they were covered in flames.
“What the hell.” muttered Morte as the imp smacked him away again. “This is a joke right. We might take a while.”

The strange elite and Rei had started fighting. Rei was on a high, releasing a punch rush that shook the ground around them. The knight blocked it, and punched Rei in the face. Rei looked angrily at his opponent, and attempted to grab him. The knight pushed his arms down and gave him a knee to the head. “…You’re not Draga right now…sorry, Drag.” said the strange figure. “And didn’t your mother teach you not to grab a lady there.”
Upon hearing ‘mother’, Rei’s rage intensified. He jumped towards the female knight and sent her flying towards the barrier in one punch. She crashed on the barrier, and was immediately attacked by Rei again, who had jumped from their previous location. He landed punch after punch, and eventually the inevitable happened
The barrier broke.

“Gars now!” shouted Pierre as he blocked a metal gauntlet. Gars brought out his black blade and was about to cut down the creature, when his sword hit some metal. “Shit!” exclaimed Gars as he jumped backwards. “He blocked me.”
The imp had jumped away from Pierre and was about to fire projectiles, then he turned around and hit Morte away. “Tsk..it’s beginning to hurt.” he said before jumping away. “Yeah. But this time we did some damage.” said Gars, pointing at the arm the imp blocked with. It had a deep cut. “Hehe, progress.” said Pierre. The two of them had survived the earlier explosion, albeit Gars was doing better than Pierre, who had lost some armor and blood. The imp looked at the cut, then looked at Gars’ black blade. ” … .” the creature said, leaving Gars extremely confused. “….Okay. I have an idea.” said Pierre. “We’re bound to get more money if we capture it, so let’s do that instead.”
The three looked at the imp greedily. ” .” It said while sweating.

The fight had been going on for a while. The black knight had fought off Rei for a while but was showing signs of fatigue. “Damn it….You’re gonna make me fight for real at this rate.” she said, looking at the relentless child on all fours in front of her. “Looks like I have no choice.” she said. “Erchim khch! Mio-iin sns.”
A pressure could be felt coming from the knight. The rampaging Rei suddenly felt like he was in the presence of a wild enraged lion. He charged at it, but then got hit by a quick five punch combo. “Now…Feral Claw.” said the knight as she released a combo only the most experienced Vanguards would be able to see. And every hit was aimed for the head. The furious attack ended with Rei getting kicked towards the wooden wall. He got up, although bleeding in several places. This eyes turned from white to red and he roared with a thundering voice. As he put his hand down the ground cracked, and he focused his gaze on the knight.

Gars, Pierre and Morte were in severe pain. Pierre had lost most of his armor, helmet included. He was bleeding in several areas, but it was still ignorable. Gars was barely standing, but he held his blood covered sword with conviction. Morte’s mouth had blood flowing out of it, and he had given up on his shadow form, wielding an iron dagger while standing in an attack position. The imp was bleeding in several areas, his gauntlets slashed apart and his headgear missing. It stood in the centre of the three with a crooked smile and bloodlust in its eyes. The three ran towards it shouting, and the imp prepared to jump. Just then it was slashed on the foot by Morte, but it made its escape. Then it could no longer move. “Yggris Spider venom…paralysis type.” said Morte as he displayed the yellow liquid on his blade. “That should keep you in place long enough.”
While the imp looked at Morte with a strong amount of bloodlust, Gars cut of one of the strange ropes inside the Fog Giant’s body. “Use this.” he said, throwing it to Pierre. Pierre caught the imp and tied it. “Lets report this.” said Morte as they looked towards the wooden wall….only to find that a chuck of it was missing.

The scene was set. Rei was unconscious and the knight stood tall. The Vanguards watched their champion. The knight removed her helmet. It was a child. It was May. The markings around her eyes had changed from black to blood red, and had stretched as far as her cheek. Her eyes were cat like, and her black hair had turned brown red. She looked up at the sky and shouted. The shouts of the Vanguard followed.
