Dragon Breaks The Void - Chapter 49 Rightful Place
“Do you not know who this young master is? Allow my lowly self to enlighten you. This young master’s name is Yu Chang!”
With those words, the many clients of the Dragon Tea Pavilion’s Third Floor displayed either looks of shock, regret, or a combination of both. Although they were rather wealthy and reputable, their power and backing could never match up to Young Master Yu Chang’s. With an ingratiating smile, the many clients started to shuffle out of the 3rd floor one by one until all that was left of the previously bustling 3rd floor was Van and another private room which housed an uncaring young master and his attendants. Cupping his hands in mock respect, Young Master Yu Chang “humbly” asked for Van and the other Young Master to leave.
“To those still staying in their private rooms, could you give this Young Master some face and leave the 3rd floor?”
Van ignored the man and continued to sip his tea, trying to figure out a quick way to make it to the upper floors. But, the other Young Master in the room next to him wasn’t as calm. One of the attendants parted the curtain to confront Master Yu Chang. Revealing his cultivation as at the 6th Stage of Dantian Formation, the attendant pointed at Young Master Yu Chang, telling him to be quiet for the sake of his young master.
Beads of sweat formed on Master Yu Chang’s forehead as he bowed, profusely apologizing. Even the hidden expert protecting him was only at the 5th Stage of Dantian Formation. If he offended someone with an attendant at the 6th Stage of Dantian Formation, he would just be spitting in the face of death. Wanting to know the identity of the powerful Young Master, he decided to inquire of their identity.
“May this humble one know of the venerated Young Master’s name?”
In a respectful position, holding his hands cupped and his head bowed down, he awaited an answer. After a bit of whispering, Yu Chang heard the curtains part as the same attendant walked out. Expecting an answer, Yu Chang lifted his head and waited for the attendant to respond. The attendant stared at Young Master Yu Chang with disdain and responded to him.
“The Young Master does not believe that you are worthy of knowing his name.”
Having said his part, the attendant sat back down in the private room. Twitching in anger, Yu Chang moved on to Van’s private room, prepared to let out his pent up anger. With unconcealed rage in his tone, he demanded for Van to move out.
“THIS YOUNG MASTER DEMANDS THAT YOU COME OUT!”
Thinking that Van had been scared out of his mind, Yu Chang laughed haughtily and continued his tirade.
“You, a mere lowly country bumpkin, dares to take time in front of this Young Master? If I wasn’t such a gracious and forgiving Young Master, I would’ve ordered you to be executed. But, for the sake of giving the Dragon Tea Pavilion’s face as well as my nobility, I am willing to allow you to leave right now unscathed, but I will never forget this matter so be sure that I don’t find you.”
Despite Yu Chang’s shamelessness, putting himself as the noble one – when he was kicking out all the patrons of the 3rd floor – the audience was forced to clap as they were worried of offending the Young Master and his backing. They looked at the private room with pity. If the young man had just left earlier, he wouldn’t have to suffer such a shameless monologue, offended the Young Master, and spilled his tea. All of a sudden, an imposing aura, like that of an ancient Magical Beast, was emitted from Van’s private room. Everyone held their breath as they waited for the source of the imposing aura to reveal itself. Yu Chang almost peed his pants, not having expected such a formidable opponent to be behind that curtain.
“I-I…I am Young Master Yu Chang! I am the 3rd Young Master of the Yu Family of the 5 great families of Jade Bamboo City! You can’t do anything to me!”
Van had released a bit of his concealment technique, showing his cultivation to be at the 7th Layer of Dantian Formation. Slowly parting the curtains of his private room, he slowly lifted his head with a murderous glint in his eye. Placing one foot outside his room, his eyes scanned the room before landing on Young Master Yu Chang. His face darkened having found the source of the unprovoked aggravation directed towards him.
“You…! IT WAS YOU! YOU WERE THE ONE THAT SPILLED MY TEA!”
Shaking in anger, Van lifted his finger and pointed at Yu Chang. Looking as if he had seen the ghost of his ancestor, Yu Chang looked at his two attendants behind him for assistance. Glancing in the dark corner of the Dragon Tea Pavilion’s Third Floor, he implored the help of his Yu Family’s hidden expert. The hidden expert, noticing Van’s superior cultivation, had cowardly left. He was only an external elder in the family and had no loyalty beyond that of obtaining benefits for himself. Finding himself in a hopeless situation, Yu Chang fell to his knees and wet himself, pleading Van for mercy.
“Please…! I’ll do anything! My Yu Family is one of the 5 great families of Jade Bamboo City! Even if I’m on the 3rd young master, they can provide you with anything you want! Wealth, riches, women, anything! Please… spare me…”
Van stared at the pitiful Young Master Yu Chang in disgust, he hated those who feared the strong and bullied the weak. Although he was tempted to ransom the young master to extort the Yu Family out of a big chunk of their resources, his disgust, and the importance that he put in abiding by his ideals triumphed over his greed. Infusing a strand of Qi into his palm, he made a horizontal cutting motion in front of him. Yu Chang stared at Van, flabbergasted. He tried to speak but found that not a sound had come out. Grabbing his throat, Yu Chang lifted his head. His gaze was full of shock and unwillingness as the light left his eyes. A line of crimson had formed on his neck and grew until his head had separated from his body. Blood started squirting everywhere, but Van surrounded his body with Qi to protect his green robes from being dirtied. His eyes full of disgust, Van wiped the blood on his fingertips on the robes of the deceased Young Master Yu Chang.
