Dream Life - 467 Episode VII: Summer Dwarf Festival: Previous
Today is the day before the Summer Solstice Festival, and the day before the Summer Solstice Festival is celebrated in the big towns. So much so that in some places the eve festival is more grand in the sense of avoiding hot daylight.
The eve festival is also celebrated here in the village of Rasmore. But that’s not the eve of the Summer Solstice Festival. The Dwarf Festival, the eve of the Dwarf Festival.
The venue, but the meadow south of Museum Hill, which I always use, cannot be used because the setting for tomorrow’s festival is over. For this reason, a simple stall is set out around the moat surrounding Kanga Hill.
The lights use a light projector that was also used in the fight against the undead and has enough light. Even more comfortable than I thought because the water flowing through the moat delivers coolness.
“It’s always been wonderful, Mr. Zach.”
That’s what Queen Katrina of the Kaum Kingdom, who is officially visiting, says and smiles. The smile and the language is your lady, but it’s ruined by having a large jock that would put a litre in that hand.
“It’s bright enough to fight, and it’s cooler here than anything else,”
“Yeah, some of that, but more than that, the castle and the vault are fantastic and lovely.”
What the Queen is talking about is the lighting up of Lockhart Castle and Scotch’s vault.
There are many large spotlights set up in Kanga Hill, assuming night-time anti-aircraft warfare. They’re rearranging them and hitting a pure white castle and a brick reservoir.
Lockhart Castle, known as Pearl Castle, is lit in a variety of colors.
Orange, blue, pink, etc. are produced using colors that are not often seen in this world, but this was achieved by turning the glass on the front of the photocaster into color glass.
The reservoir is unified with a warm light that is close to orange, making it look like six reservoirs are rising.
“But that helped. Because I was thrilled to know what I would do if Mr. Zach refused to join me. If not, I would have shed tears of blood, too.”
That’s what I’m saying, but there’s no way this guy could have put booze in front of him and shed tears of blood. I should have joined any hand I used.
Though I think so, I give it back gently, “Yes, I can’t let Her Highness shed a tear of blood”.
“You seem a little calm.”
I’m surprised by that word. Because I haven’t told her anything, including about Luna.
“The blacksmiths were worried. You said something was wrong with Zach…”
There are many Dwarves visiting this village. Many of them went to the headquarters, and they seemed to think something was wrong with me right after I returned to the village.
“I hear that even when we were talking about alcohol, there was an upstairs sky. Gentlemen, that’s why I was worried. But now you’re going to be okay.”
There is a bitter laugh in the queen’s words.
Away from the queen, he walks along the dig with four people: Liddy, Beatrice, Mel and Sharon.
“It’s not Mr. Kati’s word, but it’s beautiful. The first time I heard it, I didn’t like it because it reminded me of that fight.”
“That’s what I thought too. But this is fine. It’s like a castle of God in heaven.”
Liddy and Beatrice share their thoughts,
“I like the stalls around the moat, too. The light from above the walls makes the water sparkle and clean.”
Sharon is also nodding at Mel’s sentiments.
“But you’re only going to be able to do it here or so. Otherwise, there’s no such beautiful river in the city.”
Sharon is right, there are no rivers inside in the Empire’s standard fortified city, and even if there were, it’s just a waterway for drainage. Only in rural villages would there be clean water flowing from the mountains like here.
In fact, Marquis Seawell, who saw this sight, regrets that “even my Seawell thought it was a sightseeing highlight, but it seems difficult”.
If the Seawell River is nearby and even the water-rich city of Seawell is difficult, it means it is impossible in other cities.
Queen Katrina also says, “I think I can do it on the slopes of Ars, but it seems so difficult to be beautiful”.
I’m usually with you, Dan, but you’re acting different from us today. Elena and I seem to enjoy the fantastic landscape alone.
It’s just that the people who saw Dan hang the words of blessing, and they don’t have a romantic vibe.
The dwarves lined up in a position where Scotch’s vault could be seen and hung a well cold beer.
Regardless of Ulrich, who was hitting my sword, the other blacksmiths have had their last finish until noon today and should have lasted all night the last few days, but they’re fine as usual. On his face, there was satisfaction that he had done it, and he said he looked forward to tomorrow’s skill assessment meeting.
The eve festival runs through the night, but we got home relatively early. Because we know that tomorrow will be busy enough to turn our eyes and that it will be an all-night banquet from tomorrow until the day after.
Ulrich and the others knew about it, and they never forced me to invite them.
July 1st the following day.
After finishing your early morning workout and having breakfast, head to the venue.
It was only after eight in the morning, but a lot of people were running to get ready.
The blacksmith guild staff who install the tent, the merchants who bring in the ingredients and arrange them in their booths, the cooks who will cook them in great haste……
In the meantime, it was the Dwarves who continued to drink beer slowly. Rarely, they kept drinking beer and wine last night without drinking distilled liquor.
Ask Ulrich about it,
“I have to drink my proud Scotch this time. I thought I had to sharpen my tongue by turning down alcohol.”
For Dwarves, liquor is only Scotch, or distilled liquor, and even drinking beer or wine is a fine liquor rejection.
Break up with them and I’ll get ready, too.
Not only am I the “General Producer” and “General Moderator” of the event, but I am also the “manager” of arranging booze for the venue, and there is a heap to do.
First, head to the most important liquor arrangements.
I’ve already given detailed instructions on which barrels to place in the course of last night, and I’m just going to do that final check.
It’s just that the trouble is that if we’re going to run out of booze in the early summer, we have to get it out of the reservoir each time. I can leave it out in the cool season, but I don’t want to lose quality.
The barrel is to be placed under the tent to avoid sunlight, but the temperature rises in less than an hour because there is no air conditioning and it is not a barrel for cold storage. It’s also possible to lower the temperature with me and Sharon, but it’s just a thousand-person event and too many barrels.
After making arrangements for the barrels, we will go around each department to make sure there are no problems. Exactly what I was familiar with and didn’t feel like a bummer like before.
A skill assessment meeting was held in the morning.
The show itself has ended in a relatively short time, as the main branches are involved in this one, but the martial arts are limited to one.
Every branch gave more than three attributes and used magic metals such as misrills and adamantites. For this reason, it seemed that Ulrich, the only general headquarters that gave four attributes in a combination of anti-attributes, was missing one head because of the tendency to give them advantages and disadvantages.
A reputation involving the distribution of the Zach collection was also initiated, but it is not determined in the medium, apart from the figure of 50% of the total headquarters.
The troubled Dwarves are asking me for advice, but the magic team refuses because they’re not eye-catching enough to appreciate the blacksmith’s arm anyway.
So I decided to hand out the paper I had prepared just in case.
Provide explanations while Liddy and the others distribute them.
“What it says there is the name of each branch on the vertical axis and the item to be evaluated on the horizontal axis. The evaluation items are the precision of the metalworking, the sophistication of the magic formation, the choice and effect of the attributes, and finally whether or not it is a groundbreaking idea. I want you to rank it outside of your own branch in this item. Ranking is determined by adding that ranking. I don’t know who did this, so it would be a fair assessment…”
I was convinced by this assessment method and began to rank it. There seemed to be just subtle advantages and disadvantages, and in a relatively short time the ratings of the three hundred blacksmiths gathered.
The problem is that we have to tally 300 tables. Just in case, I’m asking the Lockhart family civilians to wait, and I’ll have them tally right away.
With spreadsheet software, I can calculate immediately, but it’s all manual calculations, and just in case I get the wrong order, it won’t be a rain of blood. For this reason, I have asked to check again and again after the tally, and it took me about five hours.
I apologize to the civilians, but that allows me to move on to the next stage.
It’s already past eleven in the morning, but it’s within our expectations that this will happen, and we’ll start preparing for the ceremony soon. It’s Dan’s wedding from here on out.
Ministers and guild officials from the Lockhart family go around the venue telling them that the ceremony is about to begin. People gathered in front of the main entrance of Kanga Hill because they already knew what was there.
People also gather from nearby towns and villages, and as far as the number of carriages is concerned, although we do not know the exact number, it should be close to a thousand and five hundred people.
That’s how many people come together in one place.
Instruct nearly fifty musicians placed in the front row to play music.
There was no classic wedding song in this world, and anyone knew of one that was upbeat and had asked beforehand to play it.
The songs that started on my signal are commonly heard at festivals in the region, and those who watch are shaking their bodies and rhythming.
Signal to turn down the sound once. This was also pre-meeting, and the musicians turned the noise down with a smile and a nod.
“Now we begin the ritual of marriage of Rockhart family minister Dan Jakes and Empire Knight Sir Heathcourt Maysfield’s eldest daughter, Eleanor! Then welcome the two of you in applause!
A great applause in my words, and the volume of the musicians’ music rises according to it. It went from an ever more upbeat song to an elegant tune that plays in court.
Dan and Elena appear above the main entrance against a backdrop of applause and music.
Dan hangs a lavish sword for etiquette in the authentic dress of a Caerm Empire knight with a blue tone. A straw-colored short hair with a serious look, enough to bring to mind the word Knights Joon-young.
Elena has a silver tiara hair embellishment on her pure white long dress. Speaking in the previous world, she is a big beauty similar to the Nordic system, and alongside Slali and tall Dan becomes a painting without imbalance.
A voice resembling a sigh rises from the venue to the appearance of the two of us. It is certainly a good couple, and many of the young women have an inadvertent look as to whether they overlap their marriage.
The two are followed by Guy and Claire, Sir and Mrs. Masefield. Such a sunny stage is inexperienced and we know very well that everyone is nervous away.
Furthermore, Father and Mother appear as a witness, and finally a cleric appears. This time he’s not a Bogwood cleric, he’s a god of those who called him from Periclitle (Wita).
Because marriage is what it is to be sworn in front of Wita, I deliberately called it from Periclitle, the closest big city.
The cleric’s prayer ends and the guest’s congratulations begin.
Congratulations continue with Queen Katrina, Chief Drexler and Marquis Seawell, all so big that they don’t seem to be married to the knightly man.
They were all short but heartfelt congratulations, and Sir Masefield was in much tears of emotion.
Finally, the ring is replaced.
Originally, there were no such customs in this world, but they became common in Lockhart territory from our weddings.
What Dan prepared was a diamond ring.
I used to put diamonds from a realtor named McCloud Chamber of Commerce when I lived in Doctus in a platinum ring.
What Elena gives you is a Mithril ring made by Beltram. No particular magic has been granted, but finely crafted with added twists.
Finishing the ring exchange, the parade by carriage begins, just like we did. The people of the village are chanting their blessings as they sprinkle colorful petals with this or not.
The two were responding to it by waving their hands despite their scuffs.
“I’m glad Dan seemed happy too,” squeals Liddy in that initial appearance.
“Right,” he replies, “but I still have a job to do and I can’t wait to see you two happy.
Because I’m ready for the “distilled liquor” review, which starts soon.
Unlike previous liquor reviews, they compete purely with the flavour of distilled liquor, not with a combination of dishes and liquor. And the judges had scheduled a review by the Dwarves and the distillers, or professionals.
There are some of the most beer and wine departments, and this one is just as popular as it used to be. However, since the Dwarves are conscious of distilled liquor this time, the merchants should dominate.
I have to separate these two reviews by myself. Of course, the guild staff can help, but they didn’t have people like Johnny Water or Jack Harper who could be totally entrusted to them.
In the early summer sun, I gave instructions to the staff as I scratched my sweat.
