Dream Life - 496 Lesson 36
He arrived at the spring camp of the Sorel, a leading family of the Humane Horse (Centaur). Though reunited with his brothers, he first heads to greet the chief, Leeva Sorrell.
I have a face-to-face with Leeva.
Seven years ago, the Sorels expressed their interest in the Lockhart family, which became famous at the time for defeating the great army of the undead, because they had applied for a mock fight near Netherton.
It was a forceful application then, but after the mock, we are not obsessed and spending the Spring Festival together. Furthermore, they have established a good relationship, such as being given a famous horse, a frog horse, which is rarely seen outside the meadows.
Sometimes, my younger brothers let me train here, but this time I’m more concerned than usual because I make a difficult request.
At Leeva’s invitation, we are having dinner together as we surround the burning fire outside the tent.
“You’re here to see Theo and the others.”
Leeva asked with a smile.
“There’s that too, but there’s something else I’d like to talk to you about”
“What do you want to talk about?,” he leans his neck, “but realizes I’m trying to say,
“Looks like we should talk later,” he pulled back.
Afterwards, it gets exciting with stories on the journey. I can’t talk about dragon men, but sailing is an unknown world for the Humans and horses and I listen to them with great interest.
“Is the sea that wide? I want to see it for once.”
It is very rare for the Humans to leave the meadows. At the request of the Emperor, we sometimes go as far as Lark Hill, where the sea is close to us to fight the Holy King Luke, but there has been no more war here these days than a regular army of Imperial Army would struggle, and there is little likelihood that we will be asked to troop out.
The Sorel warriors were excited when they fought the dragon (Land Dragon), the first giant (Cyclops), and the Demon General (Ark Demon) behind Aquila’s mountain.
“Has the namesake Lionheart, Lord Govan, taken command? I wanted to be there, too. It must have been a brilliant fight.”
Gius Salinas is good, the other warriors are nodding as well. Gius is a warrior who used to do mock wars with me, but now he’s in the position of Warrior Chief.
“Yeah, so much so that I thought it would be wiped out for a while. If they weren’t alarmed, half of them would have exposed their bodies.”
“Was it such a fierce battle……” Leeva nods emotionally, but beside me Serra is inflating her cheeks.
“I wanted to go too! Whatever the dragon is, cyclops and arc demons are rare opportunities to fight big guys!
“Did you fight the Ground Dragon? I heard it unexpectedly.
Theo nodded with a fun look at my question,
“When I was in Fortis, I fought in the Porta Mountains. Of course, it wasn’t just us, it was Mr. Gideon and the others. But all the delicious things were taken by Mr. Gideon.”
Their master, Gideon Dyer, is a fierce man of over level 100. So much so that even my grandfather Govan doesn’t deal with me, he uses a move called Struggle.
Dinner time went by while we talked about that.
After the meal, give Leeva some time and tell her what she came here for. In addition to the Liddy’s, Theo and Lyle, Eunice, are present. Knowing it was a difficult story, Serra was taking Robina and running away.
In addition to Reeva, his brother, former chiefs Pisano Sorrell and Gius, are present.
“Thank you for your time,” he said, bowing his head, then immediately getting to the point.
“I don’t know if you know, but it looks like the Holy King Luke is going to wage a massive war on the Empire. Rumor has it that after forming more than 200,000 large armies and attacking Lark Hill, we head through the central region to the heart of the Empire…”
Theo whines “awesome” where he said 200,000, but the look on the Leeva’s face didn’t change at all.
“… the Empire will probably send three legions 60,000 or four legions 80,000. If that happens, I’m pretty sure the Holy King’s Army will lose big……”
He listens quietly to me, but Leeva’s eyes say what he wants to say.
“… I don’t want to help the Holy Kingdoms or Light Divinity, but most of the two hundred thousand Holy Kings Army are innocent people. They will be forced into battlefield by their leaders and will be killed. As far as I’m concerned, I think we have to stop this war…”
So Leeva opened her mouth.
“What do you want to say? Forced or not, you fight and die for your family because of your country. There is no more flattery. Besides, what do you want us to do?
You can’t tell me the real reason.
“The people of the meadows need to intervene in the battle and let the Holy King’s Army pull up”
“If we go out in battle, the Lukes’ people will pull up in fear. That’s well thought out, but why should I do that?”
“I can’t tell you why, but the great defeat of the Holy King brings a crisis to this world. It’s what it takes to stop it.”
“If you can’t give me a reason, my family, of course, can’t convince any other family. Don’t talk about it.”
As expected, but we can’t end the story here.
“I heard that the Humans have a mission given to them by the God of the Earth (Mons). He said he complied with the Empire two thousand years ago for that. It might have something to do with that story.”
So Pisano narrowed his eyes and asked, “What do you mean?”
“Now the world is about to move big. In the eastern border Periclitle, demonic armies centered on ghosts have waged massive wars. Fortunately, it was repelled by the adventurers and the mercenaries who rushed to support them. But if it weren’t for the hero who would be the” White Master “…”
Here the Leevas say, “” Wait! What did I just say! “” has interrupted the story at the same time.
“Do you mean” White Master ”?
“Oh, yeah. What kind of a hero is that white warrior?
I thought there were rumors of a Periclitle offensive coming to Netherton, too, so I’m more surprised this one in that hurry.
“Don’t you know? It was six months ago already?
“I know there was a battle in Periclitle. But I haven’t heard more about what happened in far away places.”
So I turn my gaze to Theo and the others.
“I know that for once. I was excited to hear in the Battle of Millis Valley poem,” Build a Base with an Orc, “and I held a sweat in my hand no matter how many times I heard him beat the Great Ghost General in Periclitle.
Reeva says to the word, “Why didn’t you tell me,” but Theo answers without being offended, “Because you all didn’t seem interested”.
Plus when Leeva tries to recruit, Pisano interrupts.
“I don’t care about that. Tell me about that white warrior and what he did.”
“Okay. I’ve just heard rumors, too, that a genius magician manipulates the magic of all attributes, wearing pure white armor that is confusing with the Holy Knight, and mastering the use of pure white cross spears. And in Theo’s story, Millis Valley commands just 200 soldiers, defeats 3,000 orcs, and in Periclitle, is said to be a rare military teacher who has done enough to cover nearly five times the difference in power.”
“That’s the same story I heard. Lyle, do you have anything to add?
Theo talks to Lyle.
“I’m not talking about Master Zach earlier, but a lot of Luke’s peasant militia got hurt participating in the fight. You are also said to be a benefactor who continued to hang his healing magic until he lost his mind for that peasant militia with no edge or itch. And even though it was a great victory, I didn’t have to be proud to tear for the dead of war. Then I also heard that the fleeing Demon Army had formed a pursuit unit to prevent them from vandalizing the pioneering village and entering the midwinter Aquila from Fort Toa.”
Listening to Lyle, the Leevas are holding back and stiffening their expressions.
I don’t know what it is, but I’m going to go ahead and hit it off when it has something to do with Mons’ trusteeship.
“Perhaps, its white warrior, Mr Ray Arklight, will come here…”
So the look on Leeva’s face turns to surprise.
“… and you should suggest the same thing as me. He wants to stop the war between the Holy King Luke and the Caerm Empire…”
“How do you know?,” Reeva heard in a squeezing voice.
“I’m not sure. As Lyle said, we also hear in Periclitle that he was in tears against Luke’s peasant militia, who died in the war. There’s no way that he won’t take action knowing there’s going to be a useless war. Besides, he thinks he is a God loved being…”
I took a bet here.
If we give the gods a story, we tie it to Mons’ trusteeship. Then they stepped on it, saying they were likely to come aboard.
“God loved me, and…” Leeva mutters.
“Yeah, we’re doing miracles in Millis Valley, Periclitle. You can’t be a normal human being. If the gods didn’t love you, you wouldn’t be able to do all this.”
“Wouldn’t you be able to? I think you can do the same with your wisdom and your power.”
“I can’t. Even if I have power, it’s not my personal power”
“What do you mean?
“The only reason I can be politically influential is because I have a back shield: the Lockhart family and the Blacksmith Guild. Mr. Arklight didn’t have any back shields, and that’s all he did. It’s only about six months since his name came out of the world.”
The Leaves roar at my words.
“What does the white warrior, Mr. Arklight, have to do with Mons’ commissioning? Previously, I heard that only chiefs and warriors can talk, but maybe there’s something I can do to help.”
After saying “um,” Reeva thinks for about thirty seconds and asks Pisano what he thinks of his brother.
“I think Non should talk. Zach is a Lockhart man. I can trust you. And I’m a wise man. That’s what we’ve been waiting for for 2,000 years. Failure is unacceptable.”
Reeva nods small at Pisano and also confirms with her eyes to Gius. “Only follow the chief’s ideas,” Gius nodded loudly.
When Leeva answers, “Okay,” she puts her gaze back on us.
“Ask for nothing else to talk about now,” he said, trying to start talking.
But Theo gets up in a hurry and says, “We shouldn’t listen,” right?
“No, I want you guys to hear it too”
“But…” Theo tries to shy away, but I want you to stay, even as me.
“I have your help ahead. To connect Mr. Arklight with the Humans. So I want you to listen to me with me.”
“Why don’t you let Brother Zach do it? You should be able to do better than me.”
“I can’t do that.”
“Why not?
“Sorry, I can’t tell you why.”
Did you come up with a decision in my words? I lowered my back.
Turning his gaze to Leeva, he nods small and starts talking with a forethought, “I can’t even tell you the details,” he said.
“We have already told the people of Humanity that the divine trust has descended from the God of the earth (Mons). The temple is to bow down to the Empire and wait for the hour, but I will now tell you why we wait for the hour…”
It’s heavier than usual. We listen to each other breathlessly.
“… it is God who has been waiting for two thousand years in this land for us to be our leaders. When the world is in danger in the Trust, it suddenly appears and protects the world with our Apostle of Mons…”
I am surprised that the gods have been preparing for two thousand years to defend the world.
“… God has told me that God’s use has the power to form Jen’s heart and righteousness. The person named White Warrior who came out of the conversation is exactly who God speaks of… God is not talking about when His use will appear and what to form together. That’s why we kept waiting. Two thousand years… it was painful to keep waiting. Occasionally, I am dissatisfied with the days when God has given me a divine trust, but still many families remain unchanged. It may end at last…”
I honestly don’t know what it’s like to be a human horse waiting for even two thousand years. On Earth, from the beginning of A.D. until the twenty-first century. In the meantime, even though there was the support of the gods, I find myself in awe of maintaining order and continuing to preserve my heritage.
“… our long-awaited show up at last. In my time… I can’t be happier…”
That’s what I said and zeroed my tears, and the story is over.
The inside of the tent reigns in silence. It was Theo who broke that silence.
“I understand the story of God’s use appearing. Plus the fact that Mr. Arklight, the white warrior, is extremely close to the characteristics of the person God is talking about. But is it really God’s use? How do you tell?
“I am taught more about it than God. If you check one way, you’ll know for sure.”
“What kind of a way is that,” I asked without thinking.
“The chief fights directly and just identifies. I can tell by that. If he is not a man of the trust, he will lose his life…”
Being told you can tell just by fighting doesn’t dispel the doubt, but it’s definitely a dangerous way.
“… Either way, if that white warrior shows up, we’ll know.”
At the end of the conversation, I noticed that the colour of the Leeva’s eyes was changing. I felt like I was getting a new hope.
“I will tell this story to those of my clan tomorrow morning. And I’m going to tell this to all the people of the meadows.”
“I haven’t decided yet that Mr. Arklight is coming to the meadows,”
“That’s okay. For at least 2,000 years, he didn’t even show up. If I’m wrong, the man will lose his life and I’ll just scratch my shame.”
“Isn’t that a lot? That arc light is coming here to stop the war. Wouldn’t it be too terrible for a guy like that to follow your own trusteeship?”
Beatrice protests, but Leeva doesn’t go through with it willingly.
“To the extent that we lose our lives here, the world cannot be saved. First, if you haven’t earned your heavenly destiny, you won’t be here.”
He already seems convinced that Mr. Arklight is God’s use.
“Tomorrow we will have your welcome feast. I can’t prepare enough liquor to be most satisfied. Hahaha!”
That’s what I closed the conversation with.
After leaving Leeva’s tent, I call Theo.
“Can I talk to you a little more? I need a favor.”
“Sure, but… that sounds like some kind of tough story”
Theo nodded at me as I pulled his face.
