Dream Life - 507 Episode 47: Wine Festival: Part One
White clouds flow through the blue skies of autumn like they fall out. The breeze blowing through Museum Hill is refreshing and the weather is great for outdoor events.
Today is the Victory Festival. It’s a day to celebrate our victory in the death fight against the undead.
Eight years have already passed, but I can still vividly recall the appearance of a herd of undead filling the eastern meadows.
But today’s protagonists are not the Lockhart family or the residents of the village of Rasmore.
The protagonists fill the meadows that once fought the undead, the Dwarves.
Preparations for the festival have begun a few days ago, with many tents stretched out on the meadows surrounding Kanga Hill, and the dishes that the cooks serve to Dwarves in the early hours of the morning in the meadows I magically made.
The cooks were taken by merchants of merchant soul. The merchants are taking advantage of this opportunity to serve the Blacksmith Guild.
The Victory Festival is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and its preparations are also under way, but the ceremony itself is a quiet offering of condolences and thanks by my father, the lord, to the war dead.
However, to suit the style of the Lockhart family, there will also be a celebration of victory afterwards. Even so, after the fall festival, it was not supposed to be a festival on a large scale to the extent of choosing liquor while mourning the dead.
That soon became the Dwarf festival. Most of our inhabitants don’t really care because they like festivals. Except for me, who has to partition this massive event.
Before 10 a.m., preparations for the festival, which had been active, are interrupted once.
The villagers gather in front of the main gate of Kanga Hill, and the Lockhart family shall be on the gate, and the ministers shall be lined under the gate.
When it was due, my father stepped forward and started talking to the villagers.
“Eight years ago today, we beat a mighty enemy! But we are losing many of our people at that price. Let us give thanks to their souls and pray that they may watch over us from the presence of the Dark God (Noctis)!
My father meditates his eyes quietly and prays silently.
We prayed in the same silence, and the meadows could no longer be heard except the sound of the wind blowing through.
After about thirty seconds, my father’s voice sounds again.
“There were honorable sacrifices, but we won! Celebrate that and pledge to stand up to each other bravely, even against enemies who may come again! Okay, keep getting ready for the festival! Musicians! Cheerful song, please!
The musicians, who had refrained behind the main gate on the orders of their father, began playing the instrument simultaneously. As my father had requested, the villagers’ expressions were brightened at once by the upbeat songs that often played at autumn festivals and so on.
Preparations for the festival resume with the music.
As many as three thousand Dwarves were due to visit this time, it was supposed to take place throughout the night from noon.
Over time, the Dwarves who were staying in the neighboring city continue to enter the venue. I come on foot without using a carriage or anything, but I get anxious to see if I really need three thousand people in an uninterrupted queue.
You thought the same thing, and Liddy stood beside me,
“I feel like there’s over 3,000 of us, are you okay?
That’s what they say, and I’m losing confidence, too.
“I am prepared to deal with about two increments at a time. Maybe, no, I’ll be fine.”
At the end of the day, I felt like telling myself.
I was blinded by Dwarf’s queue, but there’s no time for me, the chairman of the executive committee, to relax and watch.
“The Periclitle branch has arrived! It’s ten barrels of Scotch, five barrels of beer! The beer has been turned to the vault! You are all guided to number two west as planned!
“It’s Fonce Branch! It’s ten barrels of beer, five barrels of wine! Storage has been arranged! I had the easternmost district go around!
A report comes hiatus that
By the way, the number two west or the best east is a section separated by rope. When we went into disorder, it took time and effort to decide where we were going, so we decided where we were going from the expected number of people.
Around eleven o’clock, a long queue arrived. Looks like a line has arrived at the general headquarters of Ars.
“It’s headquarters! Scotch, twenty barrels! Five barrels of wine, beer… thirty barrels! I’ll show you from the far north to the third!
Immediately afterwards, “Her Royal Highness Queen Katrina and the Master of Craftsmanship are visible,” the squire reports. I ordered my fathers to be summoned immediately.
My father greets me with my mother, grandfather and brothers and wives.
“Welcome aboard,” the queen says as her father greets her, disembarking from the carriage and bowing gracefully.
“Good day, Sir Masaias. Everyone else seems fine and above all…”
Now it seemed like royal mode, and it was a queenly greeting.
My father also seems to be an imperial nobleman, returning his greeting, “Welcome, Your Highness,” but soon Ulrich appears,
“I’ll take care of you, Matt,” he said, banging his arm as he shook his hand as usual.
My father grinned bitterly at the way it was, “Welcome. to the village of Rasmore,”
“Zach tells me there are too many of them,” he says.
“We’ve told each branch the number of people assigned, so it shouldn’t be much.”
My eyes were swimming even as I answered that.
“I’ll check the numbers to calculate the liquor quota, so we’ll find out later,” I said.
“I’m sorry… that was a nice adjustment. Probably, but it’s in two increments…”
When asked in detail, he heard a voice from each branch saying it was unfair because of the leak of 500 people from the headquarters out of a total of 3,000.
Although branches close to Ars could be adjusted, distant branches such as Aurelia and Fonce apparently increased their numbers forcefully.
The branches of the city through which the increasing number of people went went went into a vicious circle where they said it was unfair for them alone to reduce the number of people and that it would be passed on to other branches as well.
“… sorry, but I can’t tell you to go home now. Can you do something about it…”
And my father said to me, “Sure, I can’t tell you to go home,” and he turned to me.
“Can’t do something about it,” he said.
I brace my belly that when I get here, I’ll have to do something about it.
“We just have to do something,” he replied to his father, “Is it true! It helps!” gives me a heartfelt look.
But that can’t be done.
“If we do an event in a number of people beyond the limit, there’s bound to be a problem. We planned this time for about 3,500 people, so we can figure it out, but if we get more than that, we won’t be able to manage the liquor. You can’t forgive me for not being able to serve my liquor at its best! If you can’t promise to adjust properly, I won’t be doing any booze events in the future. Make sure you tell every branch manager!
To my words Ulrich replied, “Wow, okay,” but the queen next door was laughing at Nico.
“That’s Mr. Zach, isn’t it? I can’t believe you told me to keep my word because I feel sorry for the alcohol.”
“It’s not funny. I know that this mastermind is Your Highness. If the same happens next time, you will refrain from visiting the village of Rasmore for reasons of safety.”
To my words, the queen hasn’t changed her spare face: “Don’t say that,” she said.
“This is not a threat. I will tell each branch that if we reduce the number of personnel to keep His Highness safe, we can increase the number of Dwarves accepted. If that happens, Your Highness will know how the Dwarves move.”
The words attract the queen’s grin.
“Wow, I get it. I won’t do it again,” he said after bowing his head, confessing what he had done this time.
“This time I wanted the track record that blacksmiths from all over the world went for the village of Rasmore, even if they ignored the intentions of the headquarters. Because that way the whole world will admit that the relationship between the Lockhart family and the blacksmiths is something that won’t get caught in the frame of guild. So please forgive me for not being able to participate.”
That’s what I say, I cry, and I bow my head big again.
It’s a problem that I let the queen of my neighbor bow her head, but I dare ignore things like this because I don’t want them to happen again.
Instruct the Alliance staff.
“Her Royal Highness the Queen and His Royal Highness the Master of Craftsmanship, please guide us to the castle. The ceremony will begin and you will be asked to wait at the castle until you have greeted us.”
The clerk said to my sword screen, “Hey, I got it. Okay, come here,” he tried to show the two to the castle.
“Can they drink from the beginning? I’d rather be with the guys from the main headquarters…”
“I’d love to be with everyone at HQ too…… can’t you drink a lot of alcohol in the castle?
“It’s okay. Because I will prepare a delicious drink. Plus, you can meet everyone at about 3: 00 p.m. But I don’t know if there’s any food and booze left.”
“You’re really mad,” said Liddy behind me to Beatrice, “you know what? Well, I don’t feel sorry for you because you two are bad this time,” he replied.
“Other jobs are on the horizon! Get you two to the castle now!
I went to the castle to make sure the officials pushed their backs on my words.
“Isn’t that pathetic,” my father says reluctantly,
“So, will your father divide it up?,” he grinned.
“Mm-hmm. You don’t have a choice. I’ll deal with the two of you,” he said and headed to the castle to escape.
He then goes up to the surveillance tower with Deputy Executive Chairman Sharon to check on the venue.
This time, booths of liquor and cuisine were provided to surround the Kanga Hill, with a passage about thirty meters wide on its exterior, and further seats of visitors on its exterior.
When I say seating, I don’t have a table or chair, I just have a bench made of magic. This bench has reached a total extension of five kilometres and it has taken nearly ten days just to make it.
“You’ve got most of the compartments filled. There are roughly four thousand dwarves and two thousand residents of our village and neighborhood… the beer barrels seem to be well deployed and don’t make it to the start time”
“Right. The staff worked pretty hard, and the villagers helped.”
Fifty blacksmith guild employees were a selection or they just showed me the plan they made with Sharon and I understood their role.
That’s not all, it also gives me suggestions on how to streamline how to store alcohol, which is a lot more helpful. As their assistant, they had solicited aspirations from villagers and had hit the event with a system of 300 people.
“It’s time to go. I’m sorry, but I need a later compartment.”
“Leave it to me,” Sharon nodded with a smile, but immediately gave an anxious look.
“But I’m anxious to be able to deal with it if anything happens. This is the first time I’ve seen so many Dwarves.”
“It’s true, even eight years ago, it’s about a thousand and three hundred people, and even Ars saw as much at once. Well, you just have to think about not cutting off the booze. If it’s anything else, they’re impatient.”
“Right. But I find it most difficult not to cut that alcohol.”
I have a job in temperature control for the liquor that was brought in today. Furthermore, after that, I have to act as a facilitator for the event, and I can’t get around to other jobs. For that reason, it was decided to entrust Sharon with the command of the back.
After we talked about that, I went down the surveillance tower and headed to the castle first.
In the castle, the Marquis Clement Seawell was welcoming with the queen. In its hands is seawell wine, and the queen holds the glass firmly.
“We’re sorry we’re having a conversation. Was Master Ignacious the only one who could explain Seawell Brandy? It’s time to start.”
“Right. I’m concerned about other liquors, too. Your Highness, if you’ll excuse me.”
That’s what I say and gracefully bow my head.
“Mr. Zach, am I waiting here? I’d like to go too…”
“Guest greetings are at 3 p.m. The knights of the escort will be tired, so you should wait in a safe castle.”
“Are you going to wait here too… hey, is Noon good? This time it’s Kati’s rampage…”
“That’s not how it works. You have to feel properly responsible as a master craftsman.”
After I said that, to both of you,
“You may exit the castle, but in that case, I declare that if Her Royal Highness the Queen and the Master of Craftsmanship do not participate in front of everyone, you can increase the number of participant frames. If that’s okay with you, do as you please.”
You two are disappointed in my words.
To improve moxibustion, but I was so depressed that I secretly instructed the staff to “show me to the general headquarters section at 1 p.m.”
Then hurry to the underground warehouse.
Passing through thick wooden doors over and over again, they are enveloped in midwinter-like cold air. Dozens of tons of ice made by me and Sharon are cooling down vast spaces like the 3D parking lot at the mall. That space, but it was already filled with liquor barrels.
“Which beer did you receive today?” Check with the guild official in charge at the earliest opportunity.
“This one belongs to the Periclitle branch. They say it’s all lager type. Beyond that there is an Ars beer, but I was asked to write the name and type of the parent you recommended…”
I want to depend on the temperature to be cooled, but I don’t have time to try it either. That’s why I asked them to know what kind of beer was in there.
“It helps. Let it cool for only the first two hours, but contact Sharon if you run out. Me or her will come and chill…”
That being said, the pseudo-perche effect cooled down every barrel.
The noon bell rings, and Alliance officials and squire speak up in unison at the venue.
“Now we begin the Dwarf Festival! Begin serving if you have a drink and meal booth!
Since the venue was vast and there were no loudspeakers such as microphones, the declaration of initiation was to be made by the head of each compartment.
The Dwarves move in unison with that word. The residents are also moving, but the Dwarves are moving at an abnormal rate, and only they seem to be moving.
I will also go around each compartment and explain this event.
“We will not rank by participants this time! Have fun, everyone!
As the saying goes, there will be no vote on the culinary and liquor collaboration that we have had until the last time. It was also decided that distilled liquor would be the same and would not be scored by all participants.
But that’s not funny, so there will be a vote by blind tasting by the hundred people selected in the lottery.
A barrel containing more than two hundred litres is quickly emptied. At first we thought it would be fast paced, spare barrels are available and there is no confusion. One barrel after another was carried out of the underground warehouse, forming a queue of Via barrels.
(Just don’t get a beer at first. One of these days, it should be distilled liquor, hopefully until then…)
As expected, beer consumption slowed down after 1: 00 p.m. Even so, there was no interruption in the luggage cars leaving the basement vault.
