Dream Life - 514 Episode 54
Returning from Doctus to the village, a month passed.
After all, the stay in Doctus lasted even a month and it was only after the twentieth day of February that we returned to the village. The reason for the extended stay was that it took longer than anticipated to help with the research of Professor Lionel Raspade and Professor Kittry Erbain, but one reason is that my sister Sophia didn’t want to return.
About the analysis of the magic formation, which is Dr. Raspade’s research, but I’ve found out about Arklight’s magic formation.
As for the left-hand magic formation, it was found that it could be used without having to be drawn directly into the hand by drawing a magic formation into a cane or something. This could have been used in Phototheism, so it was also its validation, but I am surprised at the effect more than I thought.
First, I made thirty magician’s wands depicting the magic formation. It incorporates a demonic crystal stone equivalent to the fourth level, which can also be used as a regular magician’s wand.
This wand was experimented on using freshman and fifth graders of the college.
Thirty students sent their magic against me to see how much difference in power could be made by the difference in mage level.
The magic you use is the magic of the Earthwall. This is because the efficiency can be easily calculated by measuring time, if the size of the wall is determined.
As a result, it was ten times higher in first-year students about level five and thirty times higher in fifth graders about level fifteen. Previously, when I experimented in the village, it was quadrupled, so I was surprised that there was this much efficiency difference with or without magical talent.
By the way, I haven’t told the students what the purpose is about this experiment.
Dr. Raspade said, “Lockhart, as you show exemplary magic, look closely. Using an image that sends magic to him makes it easier to understand,” he explained, and no one doubted the combination of teacher and me.
Thanks to that, the students didn’t even realize that they were conducting an experiment just to be innocently surprised that “That’s Senior Lockhart” had a wall of dirt two meters wide and three meters high in seconds.
Dr. Raspade pretended to be calm, but he couldn’t afford that face and managed to regain his composure by following me “because I’m on a higher level than before”.
“Uhm. That’s one genius a thousand years. Don’t forget your current image.”
In those words the students rushed to take notes and never noticed the anomaly.
After completing the experiment, I have asked my teacher not to publish this fact, and it has been accepted.
“I think I’ve figured out why light theism looks for a user of light attribute magic. Now it only seems to be used in cathedrals and other fixed establishments, but if we are informed of this fact, the state of war will change.”
“I certainly can’t publish this. Well, sooner or later the research is going to go ahead, but now you should concentrate on a different subject”
It’s a wand I made, but I collect it all and throw it into my storage magic (inventory). Because in case this wand spills out and we can pinpoint its use, it’s going to be a big deal.
However, about thirty more canes have been made. Because it can be used when powerful enemies like before appear.
The demonic crystal stone used for this, by the way, but belongs to the demons that Sophia and the others hunted. Of course, he buys it off on a regular route after delivering it to the Adventurer Guild.
Nicholas’ prosthetic hand, but repeated adjustments make it almost perfect. Exactly can’t hold a shield, but it functions to the same extent as a biological arm for non-combat purposes.
I also tried to make an inexpensive version of the misrill-coated prosthetic hand. It was Zergius, a Dwarf blacksmith in Doctus, who made the gauntlet part for me.
This one is equally capable of Mithril’s stuff, and Dr. Raspade was in the mood to “use this to try it on others”.
There are also several former adventurers here in Doctus who have lost their arms. The majority of them work in information-gathering as informant Cy Furman’s subordinate, and I guess they intend to use them to conduct experiments.
In addition to this, he also helped study the magic formations of the Golem. This one is to the extent that I helped analyze the magic formation, but I noticed something interesting in the process.
That’s why Skeleton, the undead, can move.
Skeleton, as its name suggests, is a bone only. I mean, I don’t have a power source called muscle.
I was wondering why that skeleton could move so much. I was forced to convince myself that it was a fantastic world, but by studying the golem, I could see the principle of moving around.
The magic formation of the Golem depicts four attributes: earth, fire, wind and darkness.
I understood the earth attributes to the point of gravity abatement, the fire attributes to the point of power, and the dark attributes to the point of instruction for the purpose of action, but I wasn’t sure what the role of the wind attributes was at first.
Its a magic formation of wind attributes, but after watching it over and over again, I realized it was close to what had been painted on Arklite’s armor.
The role of the wind attribute is to connect the articulated part with a “space”, which turns out to have a robotic arm servomotor-like function.
I haven’t seen the Arklite armor, but it means it could have power assist features as well as weight loss.
Also, it was painted on the spear, so maybe there are schemes (gimmicks) hidden, such as deformation.
I was afraid of this achievement.
It was at this rate that we realized that the same path as ancient civilizations, or technologies called demonic engineering, could develop and threaten to destroy today’s civilizations.
For that reason, I did not go into this study, and I am lying low on the facts that I found in Dr. Raspade. I have only told Sharon the word cloudy as well as the teacher, and I intend to take this to the graveyard.
So far, if I didn’t speak, I wouldn’t notice servomotor movements, and if I did, it would only be an awareness of the extent to which it would smooth joint movements.
This discovery, but I’m also coming up with another use. However, since the experiment cannot be carried out, it should be kept if you do not have the opportunity to use it.
Regarding Ms. Kitley’s research, however, she was shown a paper summarizing the findings she had gained on the island of Gilsall, so that she could learn about the relationship between the Creator God (Creatore) and the Nothingness God (Vanitas) and the role of the other eleven pillars of the Gods.
It is a great achievement to have been able to know about the existence of Vanitas in particular.
Vanitas is said to be a God that brings an end, a terrible God that leads the world to collapse, but he wasn’t sure how to behave.
What I found out this time is that the only world Vanitas will destroy is if civilization reaches a certain level.
The world as it stands does not appear to be so civilised level developed, but Vanitas seems to continue to operate because it did not lead to a complete collapse during the time of ancient civilisation.
Although this is credible because it is a story I have heard from the gods of the Eleven Pillars, there is no denying the possibility that it contains arbitrary information.
“I’m thinking the same thing about that. I’m pretty sure the gods didn’t give us any information that would disadvantage us. I wonder how I can warn the public about Vanitas.”
Mr. Kitley had intended to publish the facts he had learned at the Temple of Claretore. Because I think this is necessary to prevent the collapse of the world.
“I still think we should refrain from publishing”
He gave me an out-of-heart look at my words.
“I wonder why? I think it’s necessary for everyone to prevent the world from collapsing.”
“The other person is God no matter what they say, so you can’t deny the possibility of publicizing it poorly and taking it backwards. For example, if people perceive that there is a dangerous existence called Vanitas, and it is abused with the feeling that it is the God of Darkness (Noctis) that is as dangerous as the Light God, we have no choice but to deny it. Then I feel like Vanitas, as always, is a god who brings an end, but I don’t really understand it.”
It didn’t always look convincing to my explanation.
“You wouldn’t be able to publish it cheaply if they gave you the story of phototheism,” he admitted reluctantly.
My sister Sophia, but in a month, she increased two levels, to level forty-six. At the age of seventeen, this level means that in the Adventurer’s Guild of Doctus, “That’s Lockhart,” he is half impressed and half dismayed.
Sophia herself wanted to remain in Doctus, but is reluctantly returning to the village because she ordered her fathers to explain it properly once she returned to the village.
He asks his father and grandfather to go to Doctus after he returns to the village, but neither of them is shaking their heads vertically.
The reason is that Sophia is likely to be impotent. Seraphine, another sister, has the role of Theophilus and other brakes, but Sophia doesn’t have the presence to say so. For this reason, it meant that it was not acceptable in situations where there were no parents.
The other two squires, Jerry Evatt and Larry Grieve, have each raised two levels. He recognised once again that Doctus is an efficient place in terms of experience in action.
By the way, Liddy, Beatrice and Mel continued to hang out with Sophia, but none of the three of them have leveled up. This was because I was turning to follow Sophia.
In the future, I propose to my father that when the children of the village study abroad more often, it is possible to send a squire who acts as a guardian to gain practical experience.
The past month has seen the arrival of Seawell wines, which are given annually, in early March.
This time it’s just a civilian in the Marquis of Seawell, and Viscount Ignacious Radford, who always comes, is not accompanied. She dropped him off this time because he was coming to the village at the end of October.
It seems that the wine was well made this year, and almost all the wines were packed in bottles.
Its seawell wine, but since it is packed in about two to three thousand bottles each year, nearly ten thousand bottles are now aged in the basement of the castle.
The storage space is approaching its limit, and I’m telling you I don’t have to send it to the Marquis, but the Marquis himself doesn’t ask because he’s a “bully”.
I told Viscount Radford the same thing, but he taught me the Marquis’ thoughts.
“If you leave it with Lord Zacharias, you can confirm the flavour after long aging. In order to improve the quality of Seawell wines, I would love to receive them”
With time acceleration using storage magic (inventory), the degree of maturation can be confirmed immediately after five or ten years. It means you’re sending it to me as a reference for long-term winemaking.
I’m worried about making my own wine, so it’s even harder to say no.
Either way, I’m happy to get the finest wines for free, so I’m just thinking about where to build a new reservoir.
A blacksmith guild offered to open a Dwarf Festival in the spring in connection with alcohol, but this time he refuses.
The reason is that the last festival was so much bigger than planned that the number of dwarves I couldn’t attend can be small.
In addition, the distant branch would need about a month and a half just to travel and would only be available for about five months from the last time and would do little work. It would be a real fall as an Alliance event to support the blacksmith’s work.
I smell other punitive implications for the last time you ignored my plan.
I intended to set up proper moxibustion then, but as far as booze is concerned, Dwarf is not insulting. I was going to make him realize that if there was anything to ignore the plan, he wouldn’t hold it.
Sometimes, Ulrich and others reluctantly gave up holding spring.
Spring breath is now felt even in villages with severe cold, enjoying peace.
The information on the Lunas is not coming in from anywhere, including the gods. The showdown with Vanitas doesn’t seem to have taken place yet because the world doesn’t feel any different.
I’ve been through those days, but things have been strange in Aquila mountains the last two days or so.
I heard from Dan, who went to scout the woods, that there is an extreme decrease in the number of demons to see, including the mountains.
“If a weak demon is going to get away with it, it’s been there before, but this time it’s like he’s lurking or barely active. Even the Swordtooth Tiger I stumbled upon felt like I was hiding in the shade of a tree and watching my surroundings. It’s like he thinks it’s no use running away…”
Weak demons such as goblins and spear deer (Speadia) fled towards the west when an army of undead king Vlad Varonos attacked them, swirling through the sky like a flying dragon (Wyburn) or a winged lion (Griffon) threatened them.
There was also a phenomenon of weak demons fleeing when a flock of oaks passed east of the village.
But this is the first time a relatively strong demon, like this one, has looked around. If you think it’s useless to escape instinctively, as Dan says, there’s only one cause.
That means the god of nothingness (Vanitas) has begun to move in earnest.
Urgent meetings have been held in the Lockhart family on this. Participants are ancient ministers who know the Lockhart family and my secrets.
When Dan reported the results of his reconnaissance, his father began to speak in a harsh tone.
“I guess something big is going on in Aquila that demons are moving strangely. I don’t know what that is, but at least you have to be prepared for the same dangers as a herd of undead. On top of that, we’d like to discuss the measures we can take.”
That’s where you sent your gaze to me. nodding small to respond to it,
“It was around December last year that the Lunas headed east to settle with Vanitas. The fact that there has never been any sign means that perhaps during the winter months we are ready and have taken some action at this time when the cold has loosened”
“You mean the Lunas took action and Vanitas himself made the move?
My brother Rodrick asks questions.
“I don’t have any certainty, but I think that’s likely. If not, if we put in place measures based on that premise, we wonder if we will take a step backwards in response.”
“Sure it is,” my grandfather nodded, “keep going,” my father urged.
“The enemy’s power is utterly unknown. Considering the battle against the undead eight and a half years ago and the battle in the depths of Riccadale two years ago, the lowest line would be that there would be about ten second- to third-degree demons following a first-degree equivalent of powerful demons.”
Someone swallows your breath in my words. Because even the Lockhart family can’t stay intact if they fight all that power.
“Do we not have to think of any more enemies, such as Vanitas himself, to strike?”
My father speaks so doubtfully. My father doesn’t see Vanitas in person, so he doesn’t seem to think he’s the one he can’t fight.
“Our defeat is definite if Vanitas comes out. Anyway, if you’re abandoning the village now and fleeing west, it’s all about your enemy abilities and combat power. Even if you hide underground, they’ll find you and kill you.”
“Zach’s right. That’s not someone people can fight against. Now we should consider the premise of fighting real enemies.”
In the words of my grandfather, my father also said, “Sure. I’m sorry I broke your hip,” he tells me to keep talking.
“If there’s a concern, it’s that the demons in the woods haven’t escaped. If you’re slow to march like a bunch of undead people, you should think about escaping, but if you don’t move like you’ve given up, you think it could mean you can’t escape, that is, fly in the sky.”
“First Class Flying Equivalent… Did you just say Demon General (Ark Demon) or Dragon (Dragon)…”
Byron Seedorf whines like he’s talking to himself.
“It means it’s likely. Suddenly, there is no denying the possibility of appearing from the magical formation of the transfer”
“Both are troublesome. I have very little time to prepare.”
Hector Marron, who leads the archer, speaks. He seems concerned that he doesn’t have time to place the archer in an advantageous air defense tower.
“I’m not sure, but that’s the kind of assumption you should make,” he answers, then he talks to everyone again.
“We have a longer foreground, but we should leave it in a state where it can move immediately after a report from the watch. It’s a busy time for farming, but half of the vigilantes should try to keep it packed in the castle.”
“What do the villagers do? Running into the castle will take two hours after the alarm goes out. Wouldn’t we be able to make it?”
My father speaks questions.
“In the case of raids from the sky, we escape through the sewers into the castle. If it’s difficult for old people and children, you should also consider entering an underground reservoir in each hill.”
The sewer is also connected to Kanga Hill. It is fully possible for people to pass by, assuming a growing population and making it a larger tunnel. Of course, steel fences to prevent intrusion are mounted in triplicate on the part leading to Kanga Hill, which is not normally accessible.
This idea, but you need to use a manhole to get down to the sewer and it’s hard for old people and little kids to get in quickly. For this reason, he believes that emergency evacuation to underground reservoirs in each hill where beer and wine are stored is one way to do so.
“I’m sorry, but I need you to work out an evacuation plan with Sharon. Should we just tell the villagers about this at this stage…”
I don’t understand my father’s concerns, but I don’t. I haven’t seen the enemy even though there are still signs, because I’m just assuming that something will happen out of Luna’s actions.
“We should honestly tell the villagers and vigilantes that something is going on in Aquila Mountain. On top of that, you just need to be vigilant and tell them that it’s important not to fail to prepare to act immediately. If you’re from this village, you’ll understand.”
In the words of my grandfather, my father also said, “Right. My inhabitants will not be dissatisfied,” he convinced.
That afternoon, my father and brother went around each district and explained that they would be prepared to act immediately because there was likely to be an anomaly in Aquila.
Many remembered eight years ago, and the housewives nodded at it as they let their cheeks catch on to fear.
