Dropped I Became A God - Chapter 35 Chakra For Zeno
Jiro had to end the fight fast, so he took the initiative. He disappeared, the ground cracking and making a shockwave. Appearing behind the man, he punched him in the back, sending the man rolling to the ground.
The man couldn’t even react. He saw Jiro disappear and then he was struck on his back, sending him rolling to the ground.
The people who saw what happened stopped questioning how strong Jiro is. They started to realize that all the things people said about him might be true.
Jiro coughed out even more blood. He was really straining himself as he maintained his form.
The man tried to get up, but as he was getting up a fist came flying at his fist, making him fall on his back. His nose was broken from the punch, blood coming out of it.
Some of the bystanders wondered if they should get a guard, but they didn’t. The Lolleon culture was based on the strong, the weak followed the strong.
The man tried to get up again, but Jiro once again struck him in the face with enough strength that it knocked him out.
Jiro saw that the man was unconscious so he released his form. The red aura that surrounded him disappeared. He coughed out blood as he fell to the ground unconscious.
By this time, a group of guards came. They had heard of the commotion and came to check it out. The guards saw the two people unconscious and asked the bystanders questions.
Both Jiro and the man were sent to the hospital. Strangely enough, Jiro was in a worse condition than the man. While the man suffered a broken nose and a concussion, Jiro’s condition was much worse.
Although Jiro’s condition was worse, he was recovering faster. The weird form that he used in the fight seemed to be some sort of awakening. His body became used to chakra and started passively using it, boosting his recovery speeds.
Meanwhile, in the floating city of the Ancient Ones, Zeno was hard at work with Hoemis. It was another day, another hellish torture.
This time, Ayda wasn’t watching the training. She had matters to do with her dad’s religion and there was a rumor of an evil necromancer.
Zeno finished his daily exercises for the day and was once again being taught martial arts by Hoemis. Right now, Hoemis was training Zeno with his speed and reflexes.
Hoemis would attack Zeno, lowering his speed and strength so Zeno could still react, but not too slow that it wouldn’t be a challenge. Zeno would try to dodge these attacks and Hoemis would speed up as Zeno became faster.
It was good training and Zeno enjoyed it much more than doing over a hundred pushups and situps. They continued training for two more hours before Hoemis stopped for a break.
“Alright, you have a 30-minute break. You can do anything you want,” Hoemis told Zeno.
To Hoemis’s surprise, instead of taking a break, Zeno continued training, attacking the training dummies.
Hoemis smiled as he saw how dedicated Zeno was. “Do you like training that much?”
Zeno continued punching the dummy, his fists a blur. “No, but I need to be strong.”
“Thinking about it, I never asked about what happened to your dad. How did he die?”
Zeno paused as he heard the question before going back to punching the dummy. “He died at the dungeon.”
Hoemis nodded. “I’m sure he’s in a better place now.”
“Maybe, my only memory of him was giving me a hug as a baby. All my life, I’ve grown up with my mom.”
“You said you wanted to be strong because of your mom. Is there a more specific reason?”
Zeno paused. “No, that’s just it. I want to be strong.”
“Are you sure? You can tell me anything. I am your teacher after all.”
“Nope, there’s nothing else,” Zeno said, lying. He wanted to tell his teacher about the gang, but he didn’t want to bother him.
“Hmm… Alright.” Hoemis knew that Zeno was lying, but he didn’t want to press farther.
“Do you think I’ll be as strong as you in the future?” Zeno asked, trying to change the subject.
“Maybe not as strong as me, but I’ll make you stronger than the current king.”
“Really?”
“I don’t lie. Here, I have just the thing to make you stronger. Remember the new energy that was added?”
“Yeah, it was called chakra if I remember correctly.”
“Yeah, that’s what it is. You see, unlike mana, it’s focused more on the physical aspect of the body.”
Zeno cocked his head to the side. “What do you mean?”
“People who use mana will usually spend some, if not most of their points on intelligence and dexterity, because intelligence strengthens their mana, right?”
“I think? I’ve never been to school.”
“Same, I’ve also never been to school, but don’t worry about it. The good thing about chakra is that it doesn’t rely on intelligence to be stronger. It is strength-based, meaning the more strength you have, the stronger your chakra is. It doesn’t end there, chakra can also do most, if not all the things that mana can do.”
“So does that mean chakra is better than mana?”
Hoemis shook his head. “Not exactly. None of the two are better than the other, they are just alternatives, as someone who uses mana can still use chakra. Personally, I prefer fighting close and not far away, so chakra would be my thing.”
Zeno was a bit confused, but he got the general gist of it. “So chakra if you want to fight up close and mana if you want to fight far away?”
“For most of it. Mana can still be used to fight up close and chakra can still be used to fight far away.”
“Then I want to use chakra.”
“Good, because I was planning to teach that to you. By the way, what level are you?”
Zeno checked his status. “I’m level 9.”
