Dropped I Became A God - Chapter 52 Res
“We live pretty long, but they usually die soon once they reach my age. The only way they can keep on living is by using mana, but even that won’t keep them alive forever,” Garrik replied.
Lydia nodded. “I see. Well, since I’ve read your future, how about I read your friend over there?”
Mutyx laughed. “Nae, thanks. I dinna want me future ta be read. Probably won’t even work.”
“It’s just to make sure. It won’t hurt you,” Lydia said.
“I said nae,” Mutyx said while releasing his divine aura.
Lydia fell back from her chair, landing on her back. That was the strongest mana she had ever felt, and she knew it was strong enough to obliterate the whole village. Feeling the aura, she was terrified. She started sweating, but she kept her cool, standing up. “A-alright. S-so, what did you say you needed?”
Mutyx didn’t like to be bossed around. He only listened to Tim because it would benefit them in the long run, but if he didn’t want to do something, he would not do it. “Just a place ta rest an’ food.”
“In return, we’ll help your people out.” Garrik smiled at the terrified Lydia.
Lydia grabbed the chair, making it upright again and sitting back on it. “S-sorry, but we don’t have many places to rest. Well, there’s our storage. It’s better than nothing. For food, we only eat three times a day to save resources. You’ll have to wait till morning for the next feeding.”
Mutyx nodded. “That’ll be fine. Where be tha storage?”
Lydia smiled. “Follow me.”
Lydia left her house, leading the two to the storage. The storage was pretty big since it was used for storing stuff. She opened the door and let the two inside.
“It’s nae that bad. Though it cou’ use some fixing up,” Mutyx commented.
“I’m sorry about that. If that’s all, I’ll be taking my leave.” Lydia left the storage, going back to her house. She sighed a sigh of relief as soon as she arrived at her house. Feeling Mutyx’s powerful aura was terrifying for her.
Garrik closed the door. “So much for rest. This hard floor will have my back sore when I wake up.”
Mutyx laughed. “Don’t ye remember who I be?”
“Ah, right. So are you going to build some beds for us?” Garrik asked.
“Obviously, now move out o’ tha way.” Mutyx quickly got to work on building two beds. One for him and one for Garrik. Although he was tired, he couldn’t be lazy about building something, especially when it was something he was going to sleep on.
After about ten minutes, Mutyx finished building two beds. The beds were very soft. Mutyx even made a pillow and a blanket.
Garrik yawned. “Finally, some good rest. Thank you.” He didn’t bother changing and laid down on the bed. The bed was perfect. It wasn’t too soft to where he would sink in, and it wasn’t too hard where his back would hurt, it was just right.
“Nae problem.” Mutyx didn’t get on the bed instantly. His clothes glowed yellow as it changed from his working attire, to his pajamas.
Garrik didn’t expect for Mutyx to wear pajamas. Mutyx was wearing white pajamas with gold stripes. “I didn’t realize you wore pajamas.”
Mutyx laid down on his bed, getting under his blanket. “I do an’ it’s very comfortable.”
“Can you make me one?” Garrik asked, joking and expecting him to say no.
“Yer a grown man. Make your own or get your own. Now shut up, I’m trying ta get some sleep.” Mutyx turned to his side, his back facing Garrik.
Garrik did the same, pulling up his blanket to his neck. The two closed their eyes and fell asleep in the storage.
The storage was dark, with only the light from outside being the source of light. Shortly after they closed their eyes, they quickly fell asleep.
The night passed by like that. Mutyx was still snoring as the sun rose and lit up the storage. Garrik was also snoring, his blanket on the floor.
The door of the storage burst open, making a loud sound and waking up Garrik. “Ahhh! What’s happening?”
“Rise and shine. We need you for some help,” Tim told Garrik. He was hesitant in asking them for help, but he had to trust his gut, and his gut was telling him to trust them. It also helped that Lydia found nothing wrong when she read their future.
Garrik yawned, rubbing his eye. “Can I get some food first?” He didn’t need food, as the ring that Mutyx made for him would keep him alive forever, but he still felt hungry.
“Sure, but you need to do your job first. Everyone has to earn the right to get fed, except the children. Now, wake up your friend and meet me outside.” Tim closed the door and waited outside.
Garrik stretched his limbs and stood up, approaching his master. He tapped Mutyx lightly, who was still asleep and snoring. “Master! Wake up!”
Mutyx didn’t wake up, so Garrik tapped harder, but he still wouldn’t wake up. The tapping turned into shaking, and after a while, Mutyx finally woke up.
“What be ye doing? Yer going ta ruin me pajamas.” Mutyx fixed his pajamas, which had been wrinkled.
“Come on. That Tim guy is asking us for help. Remember, we said we would help them,” Garrik reminded Mutyx.
Mutyx stroked his beard as he tried to remember if he did say that. “Hmm, I do remember it, but I have something better ta do, tha ship. Go an’ help them. I’ll go by tha shoreline an’ build tha ship.”
“But master, if you don’t help them, they won’t feed you,” Garrik said.
“Hmmm, that be a problem. It’s alright, tha ship be more important.”
“Are you sure?”
Mutyx nodded. “Aye, now go on ahead o’ me.”
Garrik nodded and left the house to meet up with Tim. Tim needed Garrik’s help for hunting, as he noticed that Garrik was pretty strong.
Mutyx yawned and changed into his work attire. “Time ta get ta work.”
