- Chapter 15:The Dungeon Lord's Butterfly Digging Technique
The following days could be resumed in a single word: Digging.
Day after day, night after night, digging was all I did.
First I expanded my test room into a 50 meters high, 1 km radium dome.
It looked like a task impossible to finish but little by little my work started taking form and finally, after twenty days or so, it was complete.
Next, I made a single pillar right in the middle, looking like a lighthouse, to put The Sun inside later.
Considering how much I dug, I thought it was time to check the storage to know how much resources I still needed. The answer: a lot!
-Topaz gems, 15 / 20
-Ruby gems, 9 / 15
-Diamond gems, 5 / 15
-Gold, 6.82 / 20 kg
T-T
Alright, back to digging….
Since I had completed the farm room, what was left was just collect the gem stones and gold from the soil, and frankly I was in no mood to slowly dig tunnels around looking for them. It was then that I remembered the time I was being chased by that giant insect, at the time I simply covered my whole body and jumped through the walls leaving funny holes…
You know what, if I controlled my body’s Mana a little better, couldn’t I just swim through the earth instead of slowly having to dig tunnels??
My first try was….scary.
I covered my whole body with Mana and jumped into the wall. The wall was dug as my body passed through it and soon I was 2 meters deep inside the wall. The problem is somehow I sealed the path I entered and due to being unable to see anything or touch anything but the ground it felt like I was lost some eternal darkness and no matter where I went darkness was all around me. I ended up losing my directions and it took a great deal of time until I was able to the light.
In my second try, I concentrated not only the Mana around my body but also concentrated Mana on my eyes and activated Mana Sight. Maybe due to the amount of Mana I concentrated on my eyes, my Mana Sight seems to have evolved and I was able not only to see the Mana that was directly around me but also what was behind it. It was kinda like everything gained a bit of transparency so I was able to see not only the wall, but around 10 cm what was inside them as well.
From the third try forth I started lowering the Mana around my body to try to rise the resistance of the walls being dug until it finally was able to support my body.
Then, finally, I manipulated the Mana in my arms to allow me to dig while pushing my hands forth and for it to resist when I pushed my arms back.
The result allowed me to “swim” through the walls as if doing butterfly stroke on the water, all this while collecting everything valuable that appeared in my Mana Sight eyes.
I had a lot of fun but after a weeks or so there was nothing left to be collected in the first floor, so I forced myself to stop.
I could continue on the second floor…. no, no! let’s stop for now!
Back to the storage, I confirmed all required resources had been acquired and there was even some extra which I reserved for the future summons.
It was finally time to summon The Sun!
