- Chapter 49:The Dungeon Lord's skeleton guards
Back in the Dungeon Core, I lifted all four eggs and held them in my arms, then I turned to the skeletons and said:
“Follow me!”
The skeletons nodded in answer and start following me.
I passed through the corridor, turned a right, a left, another right, one more left…
.
..
…
Aaaaaaand, that’s it folks, I’m lost in my own labyrinth!
Hmm… in times like this, I should use the left hand rule, or was it right hand? Let’s go with the right one, it should take us to the right path, if it doesn’t, all that’s left is the left :p
.
..
…
The right hand made me walk in circles, the left…too. T_T
The only thing that consoles me are the skeletons not making some funny face while watching my failed attempts. But they are skeletons, so I don’t think it counts ;p
.
..
…
And after another hour or so struggling to find my way I finally reach it… the Dungeon Core…
Back to the beginning…
Damn, I have been teleporting for so long that I completely forgot the path.
Should I try again??
Just as I was about to step out I remembered a function that I hadn’t use for some time, the radar, a.k.a. the map.
OK, I give up, let’s take advantage we are here and take a look at the map…
I open the map and start to plan my path when I see 3 points moving around the corridors.
Taking a look at their labels, it seems like it’s Ruyk and the chicks.
The chicks seems to be running away while Ruyk is chasing them…
No wait, they stopped and Ruyk finally catch up.
Now what? Are they fighting?!?
Eh!? Now it’s Ruyk who is running away!?
…
Sigh, let’s just ignore it.
To reach the stair I need to….all right!
.
..
…
Arriving at the tower in the middle of the farming camp I climbed the stair and left the eggs to rest in the tower corners like I did before. Then as I turned around to leave, I saw a bunch of skeletons who were following me blocking the stairs…
Sigh….
I am starting to understand why they were so cheap…
“All of you, go down and wait me in front of this tower!”
The skeletons nodded and started moving.
With the stairs clear again, I climbed down the stairs.
“OK, now, you four! Your mission is guarding the stairs and not letting any stranger pass. Got it?”
The skeletons nodded in agreement.
“Good, now go!”
The four skeletons left, walking toward the stair.
“Next, two of you came with me.”
I took them to the warehouse that was empty and said:
“From now on, your duty is to guard this place. Unless I give authorization, don’t let any stranger pass this point, got it?”
The two nodded their heads.
Then as I was walking back to the tower I saw an odd sight.
Ruyk, mimicking a chicken walking toward the chicken’s house, with the two chicks following him.
“What the….”
Ruyk would stop from time to time and peck the soil, then drag his feet as if digging and make some chicken sounds. As for the chicks, they would follow Ruyk enthusiastically while mimicking him.
Then Ruyk finally entered the chicken house…
And the chicks closed the door and stayed out guarding it…
“What the….”
I just put the palm of my hand over my face and…
“Whatever….”
Back to the Skeletons, there were four left.
I brought them to the dungeon entrance, just before the big hall and told them to guard the place and call me if anyone came to visit.
It had been a long day, so I decided it was time to rest.
And just as I passed the farming camp, I started hearing a soft sound of someone screaming.
“Master! Help! Save Ruyk!!!!”
Naaa, it must be just my imagination…
Ignoring it, I went back to the Dungeon Core and had a nice and long sleep.
