- Chapter 96:The Dungeon Lord's new Sprites are born.
Fuck, How do I escape now?
Right at this moment, I notice Blue’s voice calling for me.
“Master!”
I look at the mad dog who is unsheathing her sword and slowly approaching me, then look back at Alice in my arms.
“Sorry my princess, work is calling me. Please have a nice and long talk with our friend here.”
In a single movement I turn my body falling out of the hammock while activating building mode then I exit the room by running through the wall, but not before creating a new wall right behind the mad dog to ensure she would stay inside until she calms down.
“RAPIST!!!!!!!!! CAME BACK HERE!!!!!!!”
Was that a shout?
No, I didn’t hear anything.
Must be a dog barking somewhere…
After passing through the field of watermelons that seems rip for harvesting I reach Blue who seems bigger than ever before.
“Blue! You are looking great! I see you have finally evolved!”
“Tehee. It’s all thanks to Master!” ^_^
Well, more like it’s thanks to the Dungeon, but I will still quietly accept it’s feelings.
“Then, to congratulate your evolution now I will make you responsible for the entire Second Farming Camp.”
“He he! Blue will do Blue’s best!”
Sprites are so easy to manipulate. This is starting to make me feel guilty.
“So, why were you calling me? Was it to show off?”
“No, no. It’s just that the Sprite eggs on top of the Tower have already hatched and the young ones need new names.”
Crap! I had even forgotten about these eggs! Lucky they didn’t get fried and were able to hatch safely!
While trying to mask my surprise I answered in a calmest voice I could produce:
“I-I see… But I can’t decide on it alone, since one of them is for Leticia.”
Well, at least I didn’t lie. I truly had promised one for her and it wouldn’t be nice for me to name it without her permission.
“W-well then, I’m going to call her so she can name her own. You can go help the new field now.”
Blue nodded and flew away. And as I watched him leave I saw Aqua and Marine making a jealous face so I approached them and tried to pat their heads but failing miserably as spirits can’t be touched.
“Don’t worry. Blue is just a bit older than both of you. Soon you should evolve as well.”
They nodded and left as well.
Hehe… The field will get livelier with the addition of these new sprites.
Next stop, Leticia’s clinic.
…
Reaching Leticia’s clinic I see her new assistant sleeping in the front desk.
Good sigh. If little Silvia can peacefully rest here that means no new problem appeared.
As I started to wonder if I should wake her up or not Lucia appeared from behind the sheets wall.
“Shh!!!”
She made a silent sign and called me inn.
I followed her in silence while being careful to not wake up Silvia as I passed through.
Inside, she started talking in a low voice.
“Plate, where did you meet this girl?”
“Finally willing to listen to me?”
“Just answer!”
“I summoned her, just like I did with the goblin and the wolves. Why? Is there a problem?”
“I did my best healing her, used herbs bandage and even the last medium grade health potion I had saved but…”
“W-what? Don’t tell me she was unable to make it.”
“No. I’m frustrated! It seems like it was all unnecessary!”
“??? Unnecessary?”
“Yeah! This girl got a scary innate regeneration! It’s way above what a Dryad should have! Like a whole league above! So all my efforts were unnecessary, it was just a waste of resources! She would have been fine even if we left her alone untreated.”
“Hmm….Well, but isn’t that a good thing that she is well?”
“You say that because you don’t know how much work it is to make these potions! To waste one is the same as waste 2 days of material collection in the mountains and another full day preparing it! It seems like I’m still too green and should study more…”
“Well, don’t worry too much. Mistakes happen.”
Leticia sighed again and too a deep breath to recompose herself.
“OK, then the good news. The girl is completely healed and should wake up at any moment, and you own me one of those rubies for the treatment.”
Grabbing one ruby from my Storage and throwing it to Leticia, I answered.
“No problem. Thanks for your hard work! Oh, and I got news for you.”
Leticia squint her eyes, waiting for me to continue.
“Remember I promised a Sprite for you? It has just been born. I want you to accompany me to retrieve it.”
Leticia’s eyes went wide open in surprise.
“Really!?”
“Yeah. Do you want to go now?”
Leticia jumped off the bench and grabbed my arm, pulling me along.
“Let’s go! What are you waiting for??”
“Calm down! They are not going to run away nor disappear!”
