Dungeon System: World Of Chaos War - Chapter 96
The Slime was gone and defeated, it had melted away into puddles of nothingness. However, it did leave something behind, and that was a large nucleus that was of higher quality than the standard. Vitiate let the group have the Nucleus, it would provide more leverage for him to get his hands on the core later.
‘That fatty is tired after using one fireball, this guy is weak but there’s something strange about him that I can’t put my finger on.’ The Little Dragon analyzed Lucas and said.
‘Strange?’ Vitiate looked to Lucas, who was panting, but he soon pulled out a bottle filled with blue liquid before drinking it. He didn’t reply to the Dragon or ask what and why, but he didn’t really sense or see anything off about the guy.
After conquering the supposed boss or guardian of the first floor, they kept walking onward.
Lucas was contemplating to himself on how much they would make with the Nucleus they had just received; it would be around 2 to 3 Gold coins, maybe 5 on a good day. The group could finally see the way leading to the second floor. The device Lucas had was extremely pricy, it was so high in quality that it could accurately tell how many floors the Dungeon had!
Vitiate was shocked that such a thing was possible, he wondered how Lucas got such an item. Lucas only told him that these were limitedly available, and were very hard to make since Dwarves could only do it. Vitiate sighed in relief, this was a very dangerous tool in his book if it could come to such an accurate number.
They found out earlier that there were only 5 floors in this Dungeon, so it wasn’t bad at all.
Continuing on, there were no traps Vitaite and the group had to worry about, so their advancement through the cave had picked up. Descending down deeper into the Dungeon, they eventually arrived on the second floor.
They came to a forest, it wasn’t snowing but the trees and the ground were covered in it.
“Is it me or did it get colder?” Zelman blew heat from his mouth into his hand as he said.
“Nope, not you, it has definitely gotten a bit colder.” Vitiate said. The temperatures had hit a new low for sure.
“That only means the next floor may be even colder than this one, and so on.” Rigor frowned slightly as he gazed at the forest covered in thick snow.
“More than likely, yes.” Lucas only nodded. He had a scarf around his neck and heavy clothing on to guard against these weather conditions; they had come prepared for this.
“Let’s go, we need to make it to the 5th floor and beat the boss and Dungeon Master of this place.” Right as he said that; something came flying out of the forest.
Rigor jumped over and slapped whatever it was before looking in the direction it had come from.
“We’re under attack that fast?” Zelman’s eyebrows lifted as he looked in the same direction. Vitiate wasn’t surprised by the attack, he knew how Dungeons operated. Big threats would be attacked with the full force of that Dungeon in question.
At that moment, a group of creatures came out of the forest, well, Vitaite wouldn’t call them creatures but monsters instead.
“Are you kidding me, hahaha!?” Lucas took one look and laughed out loud after seeing them.
Vitiate decided to analyze them to see more about them.

There was an uncountable number of these snowmen, they glared at the Vitaite and company with killing intent. Their eyes beaming with blue menacing light with smiles that looked cold and sinister.
They wore a strangely small top hat on their heads, they had only eyes and a mouth as features with no nose representation present. They had branches as arms, typically twigs that looked like they could be broken with ease; they also had 5 buttons going down the center of their bodies.
Like the typical snowman, they had a 3 segmented body with each snowball getting bigger as you got lower.
“Ugh!” Right them, Rigor looked at his hand and saw a series of frost over his Gauntlet; this was from blocking that snowball earlier!
The snowmen didn’t give any of them time to ask or say anything. They attacked together by throwing a barrage of snowballs at the group!
“Oh, shit, take cover!!” Zelman’s expression turned ugly after seeing what these snowballs did to Rigor’s Gauntlet. They all ran to take cover and hide for a bit, they couldn’t be hit by so many snowballs or they might become snowmen themselves!
Vitiate didn’t move, he wasn’t worried about the snowballs, however, he knew what they could do. He was soon bombarded with snowballs, 1 hit him in the face, they hit him everywhere, to be honest.
“Slay’d!” Zelman looked over and called out in shock.
“Damn! Why didn’t he run to cover?” Lucas gritted his teeth, he couldn’t understand why he would allow himself to be hit like that.
“…..” Rigor didn’t know what say, but there was no way anyone with common sense like this guy would allow himself to be hit, right?
“Gehehehehehe!” The group of snowmen started to laugh seeing the invader being defeated and killed.
[Ding! Ice Resistance has risen to Level 4!]
“Ah, yes, the sweet sound of those notifications!” Right then, the Ice sculpture that was Vitiate—began cracking. With that, the Snowmen all stopped laughing and looked at the Ice sculpture with surprise, now way!
“I thought so…” Rigor sighed, he knew he wasn’t an idiot but still, why would take those hits for no reason?
The Ice around Vitiate collapsed and revealed a fully functional guy who didn’t seem phased by the attacks. For Vitiate, there were honestly too many of these snowmen, he could defeat them over time, he was sure of it. However, he would need to use a lot of mana and use his Lightning and Earth Element to fight them.
‘Tihihi, let me help you with these little pillars of snow!’ Without waiting for Vitiate to reply; a strange energy began to fluctuate around him. The attack quickly went crashing towards the numerous snowmen, as they and the secret spectator looked on in shock.
Their bodies were instantly turned into regular snow!
Lucas and Zelman’s mouths hung wide open, while Rigor just looked on with wide eyes. The Snowmen were gone just like that!
“What the heck was that? Was that some kind of Anti-Ice attack or something?” Lucas knew a few things, but these types of skills were used by very few people in the world, just who was this guy!?
‘You see that; you like those skills, don’t you? I just learned that one in my sleep, haha!’ The Dragon laughed and gloated about her skills, but Vitiate wasn’t concerned about that. He was more concerned about her laugh before she attacked, it was flat-out annoying.
‘Don’t ever laugh like that again, or I will have to seriously drop you off at the Dungeon. Like never ever laugh like that again, like ever!’ Vitiate had cringed hard hearing that laughter, it was just too hurtful to listen to ever again.
‘Uhhh…’ The Little Dragon was very confused, but she just shrugged and continued to gloat. Vitiate shook his head and simply asked her if there were any more enemies, to which she replied that there were none she could sense so far.
“You guys can come out now, there aren’t any more snowmen.” Vitiate wasn’t loud but they could hear it.
“Goodness, what the hell was that attack?” This was Lucas’s first question. They knew that he was an Enhancer since had used the Wood Element before, but the attack he just used was from the Ice Branch.
“It’s a Warrior’s secret.” Vitiate concluded… trying to act wise by looking into the distance with his eyes close and his hands wrapped behind his back.
‘Why is he acting like this all of sudden, and what Warriors secret!? I’ve never heard of it!’ Black lines appeared on Lucas’s forehead as he thought of this.
…..
Moments later, they were sitting in the forest over a fire and cooking something to eat. It was a full chicken they had bought while in Goa. Vitiate began to talk about the slime from before, Zelman had mentioned Liquid Nitrogen which was a scientific term.
Turns out, science did exist but it wasn’t popular amongst the populous. Zelman’s grandfather wanted to push the agenda of science, and what it could do along with the world’s current power system.
Too bad, though, it had failed. In fact, science had created some abomination-like monsters that now roamed the world today. For example, the mutants were a product of such failed experiments like these. Vitiate only saw that the Mutants were failed experiments from their titles, that’s all he knew.
They all ate the chicken and drunk hot chocolate before setting off again. As they went on, they didn’t run into any monsters, it looked like the main force of this floor had attacked them earlier. Without much effort, they started to advance to the 3rd floor.
“Man, this is easier than I thought, haha!” Zelman was elated.
“Shut up, don’t say things like that, are you crazy?” Lucas slapped Zelman’s back, was he trying to jynx them?
“Lucas, you know I don’t believe in that crap…”
Once they made it to the 3rd floor, they saw that it was snowing. It wasn’t snowing hard but just coming down slowly, it looked quite beautiful from Vitiate’s standpoint. However, there was something else that made the scenery all but more beautiful, and that was the trees.
Some of the trees were decorated like Christmas trees and even had a star at the top of them.
“Now that’s something you don’t see in a Dungeon every day.” Rigor couldn’t help but say.
Lucas and Zelman were interested and wanted to get a better look at the trees. They all decided to walk over and have look, there were even presents hanging from the trees.
‘Careful!!’ The Little Dragon hollered suddenly.
At that moment, the Christmas trees’ vines flung out, Vitiate called out while moving away at the same time. Everyone moved away in alarm, but Lucas wasn’t so fortunate with this encounter. He was whipped crossed the c.h.e.s.t by the tree as blood squirted out of him.
Lucas squealed and grabbed his c.h.e.s.t in pain before falling to the ground. However, he was quickly grabbed by Rigor and taken away from the vicinity.
