Dungeon Workers - Chapter 1 Workers

‘Thud!’

In a setting dusk sky…a clear sound of someone’s foot landed on someone.

‘Ugh!’, y-you bastards!”.

A group of young delinquents wearing leather farmer’s vest and ragged shorts can be seen beating and kicking karel at the street alley relentlessly where alot of passersby.

Where not even a single person to help him, turning a blind eye in afraid to get caught up with trouble.

“Kah-“.Karel coughed up a little amount of blood while crouching on the ground feeling weak, before the delinquents decided to leave him.

Karel stayed down for awhile before slowly started getting up on his feet when he remembered the errand which her mother gave him.

It was to buy medicine for his sick mother.

He slowly walked out of the alley with heavy breathing and his gaze falls towards a pharmacy on the other side of the street.

He crossed the street where a lot of carriage, Horses and different kinds of people passes by.

Until he arrived in front of the reception desk.

“Oh my!, Karel what happened to you”

A young lady in the reception desk exclaimed upon seeing karel’s bruised face and smudge blood all over his body.

“It’s nothing to worry about Hannah! I-I just tripped and fell! Haha Ha Ha”.

It was Hannah! and he had a secret crush on her for years now and he’s still unsure to confess to her yet in afraid of their age gap.

Karel’s 14 this year and Hannah is 17.

He’s afraid of a chance where she might reject him and regret it later so thinking just maybe waiting for a few more years will have a higher chance with her.

“Jeez… Karel come and let me clean you up.”

Karel blushed crimson red after hearing the opportunity with hannah alone but he remembers his purpose which is to buy the medicine and come back fast to his mother sick in bed, he’s thinking of going to reject her by sounding natural.

“A-a M-m I-I tts o-okay! Just give me the medicine and H-Here the monayy”.

‘shit… i couldnt do it NATURAL!’.

“sigh…”

Hannah gave him the medicine while looking at karel’s back slowly getting smaller as he run while smiling at the side of the street.

“Pffft.”

Apparently to Karel’s point of view, Hannah didnt know his feelings for her yet.

But in fact, Hannah have known it since last year and she couldnt help but giggle to how the boy is trying to look tough and manly everytime infront of her.

VHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMM…

a very loud horn was heard that echoes in the whole city.

klank klank.

A metallic sound of plates and swords bumping each other can be heard as metal footsteps is also heard coming inside of a very large and huge tomb entrance at the center of the city.

Collos Alliance, Is the name of the largest city built by the 5 Grand race Alliance where buildings surrounding the Large Huge Tomb.

or in other words…

“The Great Catastrophic Dungeon”.

In the Alliance Tower just a few kilometers away from the dungeon, an elderly seated in a luxurious chair while explaining to another elder man watching outside through the luxurious room window at the arrival of the workers.

“They have arrived…” the elder man watching outside through the window exclaimed in a gentle voice.

while the other man seated watched the back of the other party talking to him with a cold glint eyes.

BOOM!

Magic fireworks and The people in different races can be heard with excited voices while crowding the side streets.

Different people as i mean… different races like elves, Humans, Dragons(in human form), fairies and Demons residing in Collos Alliance with equality to each other letting all past be gone.

A very loud cheer of people can be heard everywhere.

Karel arrived at their house a few while ago and is now helping her mother in bed drink her medicine.

And he heard the large commotion outside.

“WORKERS!”

“WORKERS!”

“WORKERS!”

Almost everyone is shouting ‘Workers’.

Karel paused for a brief moment upon realizing today is the day where workers are coming back up after 5 years of venture!.

‘cough… cough…’

“Karel… you can go”. his mother spoke to him in a gentle warm voice.

knowing Karel really admire the Workers so much as he grows up and he even talks to her about joining when he becomes an adult.

“B-But mom!, I cant leave you here alone”.Karel insisted.

as much as he loves the workers theres nothing more precious than her mother.

“It’s okay karel… i know you treat workers as your hero from since you were a little boy, dont worry about me and go” his mother responded with a smile.

Hesitation was seen on Karel’s look.

“okay how about this… I give you this record crystal and go outside and record everything you saw and so i can watch them too when you get back”.

His mother gave him a round crystal with metalic ring on surrounding the crystal center.

The crystal then floats besides Karel.

“Alright mother… I will be back!”.

since her mother also wants to see what it looks like happenning outside too…he is left with no choice.

“mhm!”. she nodded and a smile in response.

Karel runs towards the commotion while the crystal floating and following just besides him.

huff huff huff

after heavily panting and breathing he stopped at the alley where he got beaten up before looking down as his sweat drops on the ground.

At this moment people’s cheer and voice got louder and clearer suddenly.

and magic fireworks exploding above the sky while drums thuds and shakes the ground a little.

Karel raised his head and his eyes were glittering in shock and excitement.

He saw a large group of righteous, prestigious men slowly emerged from the shadows riding horses and carriage while waving its hands to the people with smile making their way to the Alliance Tower.

‘Workers!’. he spoke to himself.

He squeezed and squeezed himself to the crowd to get in front and have a closer view.

Before him was many renowned figures and legendary workers passing his gaze.

“Uwaaahahah! as expected! yay!”.he was full of admiration at the moment as he said that.

Just behind the Workers, specifically at the dungeon entrance there are people who manages the gate…they are termed as the gate keepers.

A very huge strong looking magic gate that prevents any monsters, spirits or diseases to leak outside.

“Luxu! hurry up and close the gate”. a muscular voice of a drunked gatekeeper was heard ordering his apprentice.

“Y-Yes!”. Luxu hurried his footsteps towards the HOS (Heart of System).

a room that controls the gate.

He arrived and saw a large dense blue crystal in a platform with 4 tubes in each corner.

“I think i remember Henmark saying to apply the unique magic circulation to close the gate or something like that.”.

Henmark is the name of the drunked gatekeeper earlier.

“so… let’s see…”. Luxu started circulating his magic into the large crystal.

“huh… that’s strange…”. Luxu realized that something was amiss.

Normally the crystal will glow red if its closed or starting to close after pumping some unique magic into it and blue when the gate is open.

But before him, the crystal turned white instead.

“I need to call Henmark!”. upon realizing that this is no small matter, he decided to return to the other room where henmark was drinking.

Just moments later after he left the HOS… it exploded and he got caught up in the explosion and even henmark drinking in another room.

BOOM!

The ground trembled even to the city and a large flame explosion was seen just near the Dungeon entrance.

Every workers and people halted and became silent, understanding the situation… they all had the face wraped in horror and people’s gasp was faintly heard.

While others turned ghastly pale just looking and realizing that this is NO LAUGHING MATTER!.

If there’s no gate, destruction only awaits them.

Dead cold silence still continues in shock of everyone.

Even Worker who just got back after 5 years had faces of horror in them just looking at what happened.

A few moments later a large horde of monsters in different species like orcs, goblins and more slowly emerged from the fire and smoke due to the explosion earlier while making strange sounds and noises with red bright glowing eyes in the shadow.

Behind all these monsters, there’s a huge tall monster surrounding his body in flames… one could vaguely see its face smiling with sharp teeth which gives of a scary and eerie feeling to those watching.
