Duskaea And The Fatum Family - Chapter 6 Fatum Capturing Day
•Serus’ P.O.V.•
They told me about that I have this Phoenix thing in me, that I’m the one who replenished their health and the one who purified the corrupted part of Maroon Bells. Honestly, I believe them. In my temporary death, I saw six creatures. One of them is the Phoenix, and the other five are yet to be recognized. They already have their forms, but it’s vague, because of its foggy look.
“To be honest, I don’t want to tell you guys that I know about that. It’s just that, you might hire me, if I tell you that I know what happened to me.” I told them.
“Are you serious? You should be proud being hired as a superhero, and also, you’ll have your own code name.” Beatrix said.
“So, what about this event that happened to you?” Arlo asked.
“When I was being burned inside the vent of the volcano, my soul just shifted to a pitch-black area. I called out for help for a couple minutes, then suddenly six huge creatures spawned around me. One is the bird. As I went deeper and deeper into the magma chamber, the bird materialized and gained its color gradually. The other five aren’t like that. Their bodies are foggy, but represented themselves. There’s a literal serpent, then a serpent-bodied dragon. The other is a horse with two horns, then a muscular-like humanoid. And the last was in a shape of a literal dragon.” I explained.
“In other words, you still have something in you. I’m kind of confused with the dragon, and serpent part.” Grey said.
“Let’s just say that there is a dragon, and a serpent, then the other was a combination of both.” I said.
“Oh, I get it now. So, they are three then. Then the other two is a two-horned horse, and a giant humanoid, you say?” she asked.
“Yes, so is everyone okay?” I asked them. Their eyes are full of confusion, as if they heard of this before.
“This is strange, but we can help you with it.” Mason said.
for visiting.
“Strange?” I asked.
“This isn’t just an ordinary power, Serus. This creatures are legendary. They’re even a legend to the Emdelion clan.” Beatrix said.
“Fine, but what should I do with it?” I asked.
“Use it, dumb ass.” Grey told me.
“I don’t want to. I’m lazy, and it’ll just bring me harm.” I said.
“Not if you protect yourself with it, right?” Oceane said. Seriously, Oceane’s really getting good at convincing me to like them.
“Fine, you win this time. Where is Blaze though?” I asked. I think he hates me, but I’m fine with that. I always ignore things like that. But I still hate them. How ironic.
“He didn’t show up since last night. I’m kind of worried now.” Arlo said, but as soon as he said those words, Blaze opened up the door and went inside the house.
“Blaze, where have you been?” Beatrix asked.
“None of your business.” he uttered. How rude can he be?
“That’s rude, big bro!” Vita said.
“I’m sorry, Vita.” Blaze apologized only to her. He went outside again, with his overcoat and scarf, then a mask on his face. Maybe that’s his costume.
“Why is Blaze like that?” I asked.
“Because he was not treated like how our parents treated us, he said.” Oceane said.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“I’ll explain on the street, because we’re going to the grocery store, and buy some ingredients.” Grey said.
“Only the three of us?” I wondered.
“Yes, the others will rest for the moment. They consumed too much of their energy.” Oceane said.
“After we rest, we will start to locate our parents’ location. Is that alright?” Beatrix asked.
“As long as you’re fine with it, sis.” Grey said.
“Okay, we’ll head up now.” she said. The four siblings, including Arlo, went upstairs and rested in their rooms.
We changed our clothes to go outside. I just covered my white t-shirt with a black flannel shirt, then folded its sleeves. It comes along with black jeans, and white shoes. This is a classical style, and I like it. Oceane dressed herself with a blue Aline dress, and a sandals, while Grey wore a leather jacket, and a plain, blue t-shirt within it. She wore blue jeans, and a black sneakers along with it. I can’t say they have a bad fashion style, because they truly look gorgeous. Okay, stop it, I don’t want to compliment them again.
“Is it good?” Oceane asked us, blushing.
“Yeah, sis.” Grey answered.
“Let’s go.” I said.
The way to the store was a bit too long, but we managed to reached it. It’s almost noon, and we must hurry. They will not have food for lunch, if we didn’t. As we went inside the store, I saw mechanical robots that has an almost perfect humanoid shape. It also have the average height of a human. Everyone of them wears various clothing with various styles, but what bugged me are their creepy smiles.
“Get a bag of rice, then some pork chops. I’ll get the bread crumbs, and cheese.” I told them.
“Okay.” they went to buy some, and I searched for bread crumbs and a high-quality type of cheese. Because I’m picky when it comes to cheese, though I still love it.
As I am searching for the ingredients, a kid took my attention. He has a yellowish hair, with a plain hairstyle. The thing that got my eyes is that he wears a lab coat. He noticed me too.
“Why would a kid wear a lab coat? In a grocery store even? Maybe it’s just his costume for a party.” I thought to myself. I grabbed some Monterey Jack cheese, and mozzarella cheese. I think they would go pretty delicious if combined. I walked to the meat section to meet the two, but one of the robots moved and I startled. The robot didn’t usually possess any red eyes.
“Whoa!” the robot tried to slash me with a knife, though I dodged it.
“What are you doing?” I asked the robot. Okay, that’s a stupid thing to do.
“Command order: Kill Serus.” the robot’s audio system uttered. All of the humanoid robots started to to activate one by one.
“What the hell? What did I do to you?” I ran towards the meat section.
“We need to get out.” I told them.
“Yeah, we know that, Serus. The people are panicking.” Grey uttered.
“We can’t hold a battle within the store, many people will be hurt.” Oceane said.’
“Just evacuate them. There are more people outside, than inside the store.” I suggested.
“Okay. I’ll evacuate them.” Grey said.
“I’ll evacuate them, and you help Oceane. I don’t know how to use my powers yet, so I’ll leave it to you.” I told Grey.
“Fine, but be careful.” she replied.
“Always am.” I helped the people get out of the store, some are injured by cracks, and some are hit by the robots’ laser blades. How would they have a laser blade, if they’re just toys? Suddenly, the roof crashed, and Blaze performed a superhero entrance. Show-off.
“What’s happening here?” he asked.
“The toys attacked the whole store, they malfunctioned.” Oceane explained to Blaze.
“It’s amazing you handled it by yourself, Oceane.” he said.
“If you’re saying that sarcastically, I’ll drown you.” Oceane replied.
“No, I’m not, but let me finish it for you.” Blaze threw his giant, blazing shuriken across the whole store, and cut every robot in half.
“Done.” he told them.
“Help!” the kid that I saw from before yelled. I ran to his spot. He’s stuck under a huge debris.
“Behind you, mister!” the kid yelled. As I tried to carry the debris, one more undamaged robot attempted to slash me from behind. I held out my hand, thinking that it can protect me. A huge flame blasted from my hand that blew the robot away.
“What the heck? I have fire powers?! This is not-so-cool, yet I’m amazed by it.” I said. I carried the debris away, swiftly. When did I get so strong?
“The cook has my kind of power too? What a copycat.” Blaze said.
“No, Blaze. It’s just that–” he interrupted me.
“I don’t care about your reason.” he said to me, harshly.
As I carried the boy, he whispered “You’ll die soon, Serus, and we will be happy watching your end.” I released him from my arms, and I am unsettled.
“Why?” they approached me. The kid in a lab coat evilly grinned at me.
“You’re the reason behind the attack aren’t you?!” Grey said.
“Perfect. Now, you’ll know who I am. I am Rhys Telum, and also the so-called “Omega King” of the Telum clan. I am your end, and beware of your friends. Some just might betray you.” the kid is just a hologram this whole time. The hologram seemed so real, that I was caught by it.
“What is he talking about? Someone will betray us?” I asked.
“He’s one of the strongest in the Telum clan. The strongest call themselves the ‘Three Kings’. Alpha, Epsilon, and Omega. They might even know where our parents are. After all, they’re the ones who captured them.” Oceane explained.
“As for the traitor, I think I already who it is.” Blaze gazed at me wearily.
“Stop it, Blaze! Stop blaming anyone that you crossed your path.” Grey yelled at him.
My phone rang. The caller only represented the number “159”. I called it back.
“If you want their parents back, come to Disko Bay, Greenland. That’s where I’m going to finish you alone, and in reward for them, I’ll give them back their father. And also, another reward will be the freedom of their other siblings.” it was that kid Rhys who called.
“Who is it?” Grey asked.
“It’s…Rhys. He has your siblings, and your father.” I slowly said, shaking.
“That bastard.” Blaze said.
“We’ll move out at once.” he continued.
“They are located at Disko Bay, Greenland. He told me that I need to be dead first, before you can get them.” I started to step away.
“Then die.” Blaze jumped at me.
“Blaze, stop!” Oceane guarded me by transforming the thin air into an ice column.
“Why? You heard it, right?! He’s supposed to die, for us to get our parents back with our siblings.” he said.
“That’s not the right way. You’re a hero, and you’re going to stain your name for letting that kid trick you?! Are you that stupid?!” Grey shouted.
“Then we just need to make sacrifices for the greater good.” he rained down fire at me. I held my hand up, and absorbed those. I accidentally unleashed a huge ball of flames against Blaze.
“Arghh.” he uttered.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do that.” I said truthfully.
“Please, let’s just plan it out, Blaze. Vita and the others are also waiting for you.” Oceane held out her hand to him.
“I don’t need your help. I will save them by my own accords, and prove that I can do anything without you.” he swayed Oceane’s hand, and flew to the sky. Their eyes are concerned.
“Let’s just go home quickly. We’ll save them.” I said.
“But you’ll be involved again.” Oceane said.
“Who cares? Risks completely ignored. Let’s just get this over with.” I said.
We ran straight their home, and planned out, but we ate first. I guess this’ll be another hell of a week, but it’s my last week, so it’s completely fine. After this, I’ll have that money, and pay the school. Then I’ll be returning to my old routine again. A text appeared on my phone.
“Serus! I haven’t heard from you. Are you okay? Text me ASAP.” it says. It came from sir Ryan. He’s so worried about me, but I can’t let him know about my situation here, or else, he’ll end up being a target of that villainous clan. It usually happens to all superheroes, but I’m not a superhero, though I insisted to join them. I wonder what’s the goal of the Telum.
