Dxd: Master Of Shadows - Volume 1 Chapter 1 Prologue
A tall, androgynous person stood in front of me. He had black long hair that reached all the way to the floor and seems to blend with it, making the hair look like a universe by the tips. He was entirely n.a.k.e.d, no clothes as he sat on a wooden chair. He was smiling at me, a look of fondness, I looked around me and all I saw was black, I looked up and also black. Just as I was about to ask where I was he spoke.
“After chaos, comes peace, the bigger the chaos, the better the peace becomes. If we take all this into account, Alexander Love. You have a terrifying amount of Good Karma, would you like to be reincarnated?”
His voice was a mixture of both a male and female, his question was a simple one and my answer was none other than.
“Who are you?”
He laughed, his laugh was pure joy and it contained no fake emotions. I assume that this person should be-
“Yes, Alexander. I go by many names, YHWH, Creator, Allah, God from the bible, but I usually like to be called just God.”
I scanned him again, looking at his features, he was handsome and beautiful at the same time, his eyes contained mercy and grace. His body was both chiseled and fit but at the same time his skin exudes the aura of purity and kindness, but the most eye-catching part of him was that he was missing a limb, specifically his right arm.
He took notice of my gaze and stared at his right arm with wry smile, he then looked back at me and waved his left arm in front of me in a ‘don’t worry about it’ manner, not that I did care actually.
“You’re quite mean aren’t you?”
“I’m not a saint, that’s what I know.”
He pouted at my reply, surprisingly for God, he was quite amicable. A chair appeared behind me and he gestured me to sit, I still haven’t answered his question and out of respect for this being, I did exactly that.
“In regards to being reincarnated, there’s no reason to not accept right?”
He laughed, a hearty laugh with a toothy grin after, I felt like I was just having a conversation with an old childhood friend of mine with this atmosphere.
“That’s cool, but we have to wait, anyways. I’m all knowing but I want you to tell me about yourself, there’s a difference between knowing and hearing it from the person itself you know?”
I tilted my head and sighed, I had another question so I asked it first.
“Why am I not in hell?”
His face froze, he gave me a stoic look but slowly a grin replaced it instead. He rested his head on his hands while leaning slightly to the left, because that’s where his arms are. Duh.
“Why would you go to Hell? Hell’s not even actually a place, it’s only a term used to refer to the underworld where all the Devils reside. Well, the humans did so.”
“Then where do all the sinners go? Rapist, Murderers, Cheaters, Liars, and most importantly, the person who caused your world to engage in a 30 way battle of no return. I saw chaos, chaos in it’s most purest form, treachery left and right, people trying to assassinate the leaders, kidnapping and forced s.e.x.u.a.l relations between influential people of big and smaller countries to gain power, I saw blood, blood of nearly 5 billion people, all for my joy. Tell me God, where does he go, where do I go?”
“Reincarnation. Like, I said all of them reincarnate, each with a different life, to learn from their mistake when they were evil or enjoy their next lives when they were good. If they become corrupted, then they become the ones with the worse life next. If the evil becomes good then it’s his time for enjoy, an endless cycle. But you? You made the world realize, you made them remember that even in the deepest, darkest, dimmest of all despair. There would be hope, a shining light, that hope was in the form of a man called August Hate.”
As he said those last words, he giggled and even teared up a little, I see, he wants me to say how-
“Ironic it is.”
“Indeed, Alexander and August. One cause the world true chaos, the other gave the world true peace. After your death, that man who was still a baby came to being, he grew up in a state of war and he was trained for war, until he met a young girl who changed his ways and slowly, he became a leader. He founded his own group and went through war, not to kill but to save, he gave the people who followed him a home and even the main 30 countries saw him as a threat. But regardless, he kept true to his promise and saved more and more people until he gained enough to be a country. Did you know? His country is also the same country where you died? He got hold of all your savings and money you decided to hide to cause a lack of money for the entire world and with that his country became stronger and stronger until a few years later, he finally ended the war, he achieved his promised peace, although from the stairs of blood, he kept it and became know as the ‘Gaia’s True Child’.”
I looked down at a certain spot on the floor, I assume if those were actually the universes then that would be where earth is. After realizing the silence he kept, he continued.
“You. You however, were mysterious. For over a hundred years of continuous war, the man who orchestrated it was never found and when the truth came to light thanks to August, they found out the he had already passed, long before the war even reached it’s climax. All the people, all the lost, all the spirits of the dead that was caused by you shouted. They wanted you to suffer, they wanted you to die but how could I?”
“Why? It’s only fitting, I’m aware of my actions and I was prepared to go to the worst place in hell for it, yet here I am chatting with God like an old friend.”
“Simple, before the world was already corrupted, the world was only pure war hidden behind the others, the weak fought against the strong and lost. All that one-sided suffering until you came, you gave 24 different oppressed countries a chance, power, men, and an equally powerful weapon. The one-sided suffering became equal and the war came about. Your actions were already good but even better was when the people realized they needed a hope, a person who will rule with peace, all that came from you, the one titled as “The Grand General of Chaos”, cool name right? In other words, if August would come to die then he would also have a blinding amount of good karma. And you who technically was the cause of that peace, was also flooded with good karma, now enough of that. Let’s talk about your childhood”
I was taken aback, I enjoyed his story of my great antics. I was in a state of joy, but what caused me even more joy was the fact that he wanted me to tell about my life, I could tell God about the things I deemed interesting and fun.
And that I did. We talked, we laughed, we teared up a bit at some parts, but overall we were having the time of our lives, if me seeing the whole world fall into chaos was the greatest moment of my life, talking to God and telling him my story would be the undisputed second greatest moment. Our talked reached all the way to likes and dislikes of ice-cream flavors, heck he even created one in front of me and we argued, I haven’t realized it but despite me being a pathological liar, talking to this God made me honest, a fresh breath of honesty. I didn’t even notice the time as I felt no exhaustion despite me being in my grandpa body, until he finally ended the talk.
“Okay! Looks like your body has finished being created. I’d love to talk with you forever but the true joy is things with limitations right?”
“True, forever might be boring, but what do you mean?”
He stood up from his chair and went to a certain spot in the floor, he pointed at it and a universe came about, it continued zooming until we reached a planet, it was identical to earth but also different, it zoomed even more until we reached a man and pregnant woman in, what I would call ancient clothing, God smiled at me with a sparkling thumbs up as he cheerily told me.
“This isn’t your world by the way~ It’s time to be reincarnated, Alexander Love, my dearest friend! Your mother has been eager to see you for 1 year now!”
Oh. Cool.
