As it finished saying that, the image on the screen changed as it seemed that Goddess Titiana turned and tried to run away.

“Sh*t!” Vice-Chief Liu snapped.

“Kalar!” the humanoid being’s voice rang out in the background and the screen went black.

After a minute of silence, Vice-Chief Liu shouted as he gave orders.

“I want this video to be sent to the Investigations Department… Yue Jing, send the audio to the Linguistics team and Titiana’s data logs to be sent to the AI Support Department… Wang Lie take charge of the department in my stead, also have a team to salvage Titiana’s corpse… Yang Sun follow me, we’ll be flying to Hong Kong…”

The facility itself is similar to the other buildings around it with a middle-eastern look, it has a floor area of four Mu, and is three storeys high.

“Shan-shan, you can go over there at the Gene Extraction room for the tests, I’ll drop by the Discovery hall to submit my reports.” Lan Ranyan said.

“Sure thing, I’ll come look for you once I’m done” Zhang Shan replied.

Zhang Shan entered the Gene extracting room as the system prompted in his mind.

Unlike other games, when a player logs-off from Alternate Realm Chronicles, the Avatar doesn’t disappear, instead it goes to sleep, which is why it is important to ensure that you log-off in a safe and secure place. In cases of emergency however, like game disconnection or you are unable to proceed with safely logging-off, the system will “drive” your Avatar in auto-pilot, if it’s engaged in a fight it would fight to retreat for safety but it may not be successful 100% of the time. If successful on its retreat, your Avatar will then look for the nearest town and head there. This would incur penalties as though, as your account will be suspended in the game with increasing increments to a maximum of one month. Once a player logs-out. The Avatar will enter a sleeping state, thus, other players will see your Avatar in game, sleeping.

Zhang Shan smiled after reading the skill explanation of the gene. It seems that the skill directly provides the abilities that the Spiders have exhibited earlier. However he frowned when he saw the limitations, although he heard that some genes do have certain limitations due to compatibility, he found that his genes could only accept 8 more Main Gene Types.

This was a bit disappointing, given that other users have multiple Gene Types which are definitely more than 10. Being an optimist though, he thought that the 9 additional subset options for gene evolution could make up for this short coming. He believed he would have enough time to plan carefully when choosing to devour more Genes in the future.

The NPC was an bald fat old man called Wahab Shaif, he was wearing spectales and a middle eastern garb.

“How much for the identification fee?” asked Lan Ranyan

Wahab Shaif responded, “100 Selas for the scales, 200 Selas for the meat.”

Lan Ranyan nodded as she gave the Selas and the loot. Wahab Saif picked up his Monocular and started inspecting the Scales, nodding here and there as he turned it over multiple times. He paused for a while, contemllated and then asked Lan Ranyan.

“Where did you get this?” Wahab Saif asked

“I only paid you to identify the items, I didn’t pay you to ask questions…” Lan Ranyan answered coldly.

“Right, right.. hmmpphh…” Wahab Saif nodded and went to the back of his store, then after a while he bought out an old book which seemed to be falling apart due to its antiquity. He checked the scales and the book from time to time, while turning it’s pages.

Afterwards, he checked the meat as well doing the exact same thing. He kept silent as if thinking hard and then looked at Lan Ranyan seriously.

“If I waive the identification fee and returned your money, would you humor this old man as to where you got these items?” He asked Lan Ranyan again.

Lan Ranyan calmly looked at him for a while and then said with a blank and murderous face “Give my money and items back.”

Wahab Saif backed off a bit, paused, and then laughed.

“Ha!Ha!Ha! Don’t be too serious, If you really don’t want to tell, I won’t push any further.” He said awkwardly.

“Based on what I learned, this Scale and meat is most likely a Scale of an Ancient Draco Spider, in Sylvannic Toungue we call it “Ratu Al Draka”, however they should have been extinct long ago. Seeing how fresh both of these are, I’d say they were acquired from the beast itself within the last two days.” He added.

Lan Ranyan asked, “I don’t mind you giving me a history lesson but that’s not my question. What tier is it?”

Wahab Saif paused and stopped smiling.
