*Krrrryaaahhhh*
The loud shrill shrieks of the two monsters can be heard echoing all over the silent cave.
Zhang Shan ran as fast as his legs could, his heart beating loud and fast like bass drums in a rave party. Adrenaline kept pumping in his veins as he continued to run.
*krrrryaaahhhh….*
After a few feet of running back towards where the others where, Zhang Shan regained his composure.
He noticed that the shrieks, although continuous, seemed to be getting fainter and fainter by the second. As he started to look back he also slowed down his steps.
He saw the two black spider-like creatures still bent on catching him with anger in their eyes, shrieking and crawling their way towards him and as with their current distance they now seemed to be the same size as his fist.
After turning around and completely stopping in his tracks, he carefully placed his torch in the ground, sheathing his jian sword as he arrogantly crossed his arms.
“F*ck, these spiders sure are slow…” Zhang Shan said.
“Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!”…
“Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!”…
for visiting.
“Hush… We might get noticed”
Somewhere behind him, Zhang Shan heard the voices whom he believed came from Ye Qian and Lan Ranyan as they laughed and giggled while being reprimanded by Ye Qing.
“…..”
Zhang Shan felt akward thinking how funny he would have looked like as he was running away in a cowardly manner from those spider-like monsters. If there was a hole that he could bury himself into, he would have done it long ago.
Seeing there’s nothing he could do about it at this point, he steeled himself and shamelessly stood there looking far into the horizon as if he never heard a thing.
The speed of the spider-like creatures were more like that of a five year old child.
The others weren’t really kidding around when they mentioned how mismatched it looked like in comparison to their build, he thought to himself.
Zhang Shan was contemplating whether he should sit down for a while and draw circles on the ground while waiting for the creatures to catch up. However, as he thought back on how he was laughed at by the girls, he then immediately set aside the idea and just kept on waiting, he regained his confidence now thag he knows that the others are there to back him up.
After a few more breaths, when the creatures are roughly 12 feet away from him. He started hearing shuffling movements from the back.
“LUMINAS!!!” shouted Lan Ranyan
Without looking back, Zhang Shan knew that the others have started to take action. A bright light seemed to have appeared out of nowhere behind him and Zhang Shan noticed his shadow appeared in front. The light appeared so suddenly that it seemed like a flash bang causing the spider-like creatures to stop as they tried to turn their eyes away, but it was a little to late.
“PETRIFICA!” Ye Qian followed up
Out of the ground small blocks of earth can be seen crawling up the creatures limbs. seemingly holding them down to stay in the same spot.
The illuminating light, which was too bright a few seconds ago has started to grow dimmer but continued to illuminate the surrondings as if it’s daytime.
“Endless Resolve…” Ye Qing growled with seriousness and blood thirst in his eyes, he glowed with a reddish aura, at the same time he slowly crouched and grabbed the handle of his sheathed dao sword.
He stayed in this position in less than an eight of a breath and suddenly disappeared.
*BBBOOOOOOOMMMMMM*
Zhang shan toppled over with the might of the sound of the sonic boom and he was now on all fours with his ears ringing due to the noise, as he finally got his bearings back, he saw one of the spider-like creatures getting hit with what seem to be like a red human cannon ball. On the other hand he noticed that the other spider creature was already planted firmly on the walls of the left part of the cavern.
As the human cannon ball hit the remaining spider, there seemed to be a fraction of a second that the scene looked like it was paused and then resumed before the spider came barreling towards the right part of the cave, again, firmly planted on the walls while the human cannon ball stopped in mid-air and dropped to the ground as if losing all of its power.
Zhang Shans mouth was agape with shock, he never expected to witness something that was almost impossible to believe. It was like how a billiard ball would hit other stationary balls, except this was an entirely different league .
It never occured to him how powerful these guys are, until he saw it with his own eyes. These guys which were usually clowning around during their journey on the way here didn’t seem to carry that much skill nor power, but as soon as the fighting starts, they seemed to transform into something entirely different.
After Ye Qing attacked the second spider he sheathed his dao sword, readied his hands to unsheath again at any time and resumed his crouching position. The red aura still glowing around him as he slowly closed his eyes as if waiting for something.
Suddenly, the first spider moved and slowly crawled its way out of the wall while the second one also did the exact same thing. As they struggled free from the wall, it was only then that Zhang Shan noticed these two spider-like creatures have incurred a large gash at the sides of their bodies, blueish blood was flowing and spraying like water while the blue fleshy internal organs are hanging out in the open. It was a gruesome scene, Zhang Shan bet himself that if these spiders have red blood and flesh, he woul’d have puked at this point.
Zhang Shan was surprised how tenacious these spiders are. He has now firmly believed that these creatures are roughly the same level as Ye Qing and Lan Ranyan.
“Get ready” Ye Qian said, as he approached Zhang Shan from the right side from her hiding place.
“Get ready for what?” asked Zhang Shan with a confused look?
“I did tell you that your job is to run around right?” Lan Ranyan smiled sweetly and calmly answered as she approached from the left side as well.
“Yes, you did say that earlier…But it doesn’t seem that I need to do that at this point.” Zhang Shan was still confused.
“Look closely…” Lan Ranyan said as she pointed towards one of the spiders.
When he examined the spiders from afar, it seemed as if the blood and flesh of the wounded spiders are crawling back into their bodies and started to regenerate. Zhang Shan rubbed his eyes in case he saw it wrong, but it really seemed to be what was occuring in front of him.
Zhang Shan was quite surprised as he saw this happening, he never thought that this regenerating scene that only happens in movies would actually appear to be part of these spiders abilities.
“Sh*t! That’s too OP!!!” Zhang Shan cursed. Although some monsters in the game were said and can regenerate their wounds, he never really read or heard of any that could do it this fast, and in this manner.
As the spiders completed their regeneration phase which only took two breaths, they shook their bodies as if trying to ward off their dizziness. Zhang Shan in turn, had resolved himself into running, he was now preparing to run even though he doesn’t understand why and which direction to run off to.
From his current point of view he can see both spiders to the left and right sides of the cavern wall, while at the center was Ye Qing.
Ye Qing was frozen like a statue made of ice, looking very majestic, in his glowing red aura while in a crouching position.
Both spiders glared at Ye Qing and shrieked.
*Krrrryaaahhhh*
But instead of moving forward to Ye Qing’s position in the middle. Both spiders next looked at Zhang Shan and turned their bodies in his direction.
“Crap… Something is very wrong about this picture” Zhang Shan thought to himself.
This time he felt danger unlike no other, and as he did. The two spiders disappeared successively leaving behind two loud sonic booms in their wake.
*BBBOOOOOOOMMMMMM* *BBBOOOOOOOMMMMMM*
He glanced at both his left and right side and found that Lan Ranyan and Ye Qian have also dissappeared.
“I’m f*cked..” Zhang Shan thought to himself, and then flashes of memories of his childhood appeared in front of his eyes.
“…”
“…..”
“…..”
*TTTHHHAAAADDDDUUUMMM*
*TTTHHHAAAADDDDUUUMMM*
Zhang Shan was brought back to his senses after hearing those noise. Out of nowhere two large walls of ice appeared from the ground and when they did it seemed that both spiders ending up crashing to them causing their speed to drop drastically, although it slowed them down they were still heading towards him, and this time with the visible speed of a truck.
Zhang Shan didn’t know when Ye Qing disappeared in the middle, but in his previous location, Ye Qian can be seen crouching down with hands spread outwards as if readying to catch something…
Or someone…
When the realization of this set-up dawned on Zhang Shan, Ye Qing appeared on his left facing the direction where the two spiders are charging from, while Lan Ranyan re-appeared on his right.
Lan Ranyan grabbed Zhang Shan’s collar with her right hand, smiled sweetly at him and jumped a bit while twisting her whole body together with Zhang Shan.
Feeling wronged, Zhang Shan started to speak aggresively to Lan Ranyan.
“HOW THE F*CK CAN THIS BE CALLED…”
Before he can finish his words, Zhang Shan went shooting off like a meteor towards Ye Qian and passing in between the two spider-like monsters.
“RRRuunningggggggggg…..” his voice fainting as he gets farther away and into Ye Qian’s arms.
Simultaneously as this was happening, in his crouching position, Ye Qing opened his eyes and murmured…
“Endless Resolve…”
