- Chapter 517: - Crossover(part 7)
“E…enough. I…I give up…!” Exclaimed Zarina, after a good ten minutes or so had passed.
“She couldn’t break free from the paralysis even after that long? Guess she must be pretty weak willed,” Mused Az, as Zarina got teleported out.
Guess the Duel Field activates when one of them surrenders, huh?
“How easy is it to break free from that?” Inquired Kilzachs curiously.
“See for yourself,” I replied, as I placed a hand on his shoulder and activated the spell.
“Wha-…woah, this feels really weird,” He muttered, before closing his eyes and focusing, and then breaking free from it, “Oh…that was surprisingly easy. Though I guess the instant it takes to break free could be fatal in a real fight.”
“That was impressive, not many people can break free so quickly and easily,” Remarked Persia, as Zarina walked back with a sour look on her face while muttering to herself, while Belia had a cheerful, content look on her face.
“Just for some clarity, I kept activating my paralysis spell again and again with each and every spank,” Grinned Belia smugly.
“That went well…you’re totally gonna be the butt of everyone’s jokes for a while, pun intended,” Smirked Kilzachs tauntingly, as Zarina walked past him with a scowl, tenderly rubbing her butt.
She left the training room and slammed the door shut…she’s gonna want to forget about what just happened as soon as possible, I bet she’s going to fill herself up with booze.
“So, who’s gonna go next? I’d like to fight two on one,” I spoke up, feeling amped up after watching the previous fights…well, except the most recent one, I can hardly call that a fight.
“Heh, hope you don’t regret that…we’ll oblige you, dude,” Grinned Altan, as he stepped forward with Iro.
“Sounds good to me, I won’t be holding back,” I responded, not totally truthfully.
I do plan to go Diablo Mode right off the bat, but I won’t be too relentless in my attacks, at least not right away. I’m also not planning on using my Fangs of the Basilisk, I’ll use my bare hands instead.
“Bring it on,” Nodded Iro with a smile, accepting the challenge.
He gives me some serious battle junkie vibes, he’s practically glowing with excitement and anticipation. Hm, this duel might be a good opportunity to test out the abilities I gained from the Spectre.
I wonder if his Nullification technique works on the energy of this world? Guess I’ll find out soon enough.
The three of us then stepped onto the Duel Field, the two of them taking their places on either side of me while eyeing me warily, as the the countdown began.
“Alright, <Manifestation Surge: Accoustic Armor>!” Chanted Altan, as purple energy burst out and took shape around his body.
It formed in the shape of headphones around his ears, a loudspeaker by his mouth, along with strings across his forearms and torso. He also had what looked like circular speakers on his palms, possibly on the soles of his feet as well.
And there were flaps across his legs, upper arms and back. If I had to venture an educated guess, it looks like that armor fires out sound-related attacks. I should keep my distance from him.
“My turn now, <Manifestation Surge: Super Light Armor>!” Iro chanted with a grin, as bright white energy manifested around his body.
It wrapped around his body and head, before a pair of extra energy arms formed out of his sides, below his normal arms, before two more energy arms extended out from his shoulder blades.
He then formed different weapons in each hand, a sword, a spear, an axe, a club, a hammer and a scythe.
Guess it’s my turn to power up…I then unleashed Diablo Mode, a shockwave of power bursting out from me as wings sprouted out from my shoulders, along with horns on either side of my head, and my third eye opened up.
The countdown is almost over…I should fly up once it is, gauge their abilities and then counter once I have a decent understanding of what they’re capable of.
As the countdown ended, I activated Nullification…but it had no effect, their energy armors staying intact. Oh, well, it was worth a try.
Iro then flung his axe up at me, I swiftly responded by activating the Support Magic switch and trading places with Altan, before taking aim and firing out a powerful lightning bolt at Iro.
He managed to just barely get out of the way of my attack by springing back, as Altan fired out sound blasts from the speakers on his palms to blow away the incoming energy weapon.
I then shot towards Iro after firing a lightning bolt at Altan as he began to plummet back down, which he evaded by firing out another sound blast to shoot himself out of the way, before I closed in on Iro and drove my foot up towards his chest.
He quickly crossed his arms in front of himself defensively, getting sent flying back as my foot slammed onto the cross section of his arms, his back crashing onto the barrier wall as he let out a stifled gasp.
Altan then shot towards me, the flaps across his armor fluttering as he did, a slight distorting sound emanating from them…I see, that’s pretty disorienting. I’ll dull my sense of hearing using my Healing Factor, and sharpen my other senses to make up for it.
I then extended out wooden vines from my wrists towards Altan, he began to race away in alarm as they came shooting towards him, but he was too slow, as they caught up and wrapped around him, before swinging him across towards Iro as he began to regain his bearings.
Iro reacted in alarm and managed to catch him, before throwing him away and jumping off to the side as I fired out a lightning bolt towards them.
Hm, these wooden vines are pretty useful. If I remember right, Minise Mefvis gained this ability from the life force of the Undead King. Looks like the Spectre must have obtained it when he killed her. And now, I possess it.
Suddenly, Altan swung his arms across, his fingers striking the strings across his forearms and torso and sending out a powerful, disorienting blast of noise in my direction.
I formed a barrier in front of myself to block it, but the sound traveled around it, dazing me slightly…wow, even with my hearing dulled, that’s seriously nauseating. Talk about an effective attack, he could defeat almost anyone if he hits them directly with it.
“Take this, <Manifestation Overdrive: Light Beam>!” Exclaimed Iro, as he suddenly fired out a massive blast of white energy in my direction.
I could teleport away…but let’s see if I can block this instead. I formed a wall of Obliteration Magic in front of myself as the mass of energy barreled in towards me, right as Altan zipped around and leapt up to my right, his fist drawn back.
He then drove his fist towards my face with immense force, as I used the intangibility Support Magic in response. As his fist phased through my face, I swung my arm up and across, hitting his chest with the back of my fist and sending him flying away.
He managed to halt himself by firing out sound blasts from his palms and feet, as Iro leapt up above my Obliteration Magic shield towards me, forming a massive shuriken and flinging it down at me.
I teleported to evade it, reappearing behind him and hitting his back with Repulsion, sending him crashing down onto the ground. Damn, he’s pretty sturdy and durable, he’s already getting back up.
As I spotted Altan racing across, I swiftly pointed my palm in his direction and activated Beckon, rapidly pulling him up towards me as he let out a yelp of surprise, before swinging him across and switching to Repulsion, throwing him towards Iro.
Iro sprang back as Altan fired out sound blasts to keep himself from crashing onto the ground, before firing out several sound blasts up at me, which I swooped down to evade, landing on the ground.
Okay, those sound blasts are annoying, but not a genuine threat to me so long as I avoid taking a big one on directly, I think I can afford to be a bit more aggressive in my attacks here.
Still though, I’m having fun here, so I won’t be too aggressive and end it right away. Hm, maybe provoking them a bit might help make this even more fun…
“Alright, I think I’m gonna get a bit more serious now…so come at me with everything you’ve got!” I taunted them with a smirk…
