Dante watched everything transpire from far away, his thoughts in turmoil. The Fate Halos stacked over the Plasma Predator as its halo remained white, meaning that Jay’s ultimate skill manifestation wouldn’t complete, or it might miss the monster.
The same could not be said with Felarial as his halos turned purple, indicating his death in the next 100 seconds.
It was similar for everyone within his range of Fate Sequence perception
Dante wasn’t sure about Jay’s safety since he couldn’t see either his Fate Sequences or Fate Halos because of the Origin Energy.
An unknown fear crept up his heart at the uncertainty of the outcome. He didn’t wish to believe Jay would fall there, but something inside nudged him to act, or it might be their end.
In the next few seconds, he saw an opening where the Plasma Predator’s body would be punctured with oversized thorns.
Without delay, he summoned his Growth-type Equipment and the card tattoo on his forearm shone before turning into a deck of illusionary white cards.
Each illusionary card in the <Deck of Fate> had a random buff effect, and when used, the cards drawn would grant him the buffs best suited to the situation he was in.
Due to his Growth-type Spirit Equipment being an Uncommon Grade one, the cards he could draw were limited to two.
Two illusionary white cards swooshed out of the deck and dispersed into Dante’s body, granting him two temporary buffs.
——————-
<Weak-Link Haul>: The user’s attacks physically draw the target’s weakest link towards the attack within a limited range of 20 meters.
Buff Duration: 20 mins.
——————-
<Penetration Power>: The user’s attacks will be laced with high penetration capabilities.
Buff Duration: 20 mins.
——————-
Just as he comprehended what those buffs could do, something happened out of his expectations.
Dante’s 2nd Innate Exclusive Skill activated by itself.

[<Fate Sequence Alteration> activated upon the User]
[38.5 Fate Stats Consumed]
Not only did it activate by itself, but it even targeted him. Dante already tried using <Fate Sequence Alteration> on himself, but that never worked before.
The first time he used it was in a life-and-death situation against the Hobgoblin Shaman on Day-2.
Later, he tested on different lifeforms and even inanimate objects, and every time, it worked at the expense of some measly amount of Fate Stats but never worked when he tried using the skill on himself.
His thoughts were interrupted, and the second buff he received was replaced with another one.
——————-
<Vitality Diffusion>: The user’s vitality wouldn’t be limited to the fatal organs and instead be diffused to be contained throughout the body uniformly.
Buff Duration: 20 mins.
——————-
While the first buff was crucial in dealing with the monster, the second increased his survivability.
Dante didn’t know why his Innate skill replaced the second buff, but he believed it was for his own good, so he didn’t linger on it and nodded at Min-soo, who stood not far from him.
Min-soo didn’t understand why Dante had asked him a while ago to teleport him by Jay’s side at his signal.
If he were to do that, Dante’s death would be on his hands, but seeing the seriousness on his face, Min-soo took a leap of faith and teleported him using the last bit of recovered Spirit Energy.
Min-soo reminded himself of Dante’s ability to predict future outcomes and eased in.
Meanwhile, Dante appeared within the dome, between Jay and Felarial, and began shooting arrows at the visibly recovering holes in the monster’s body.
As the first arrow neared, the Essence Crystal flew out of the monster’s control, and by the time it was about to land, the Crystal had surfaced over the monster’s flesh.
With a sharp clang, the arrow landed a clean hit on the Essence Crystal, simultaneously dumbfounding and enraging the Plasma Predator.
The monster couldn’t believe how the Essence Crystal within its body had lost control for a brief moment and opened itself to be hit by an arrow.
If it wasn’t for the attack’s low lethality, that would have been the monster’s end.
Fearing the worst, Plasma Predator willed the Essence Crystal to move within its body as fast as possible.
However, that didn’t change the inevitable as every single arrow Dante shot passed by the spot where the Crystal was at that moment, and some strange force pulled it to collide with the arrow.
After many successful hits, cracks began to appear on the Essence Crystal, which aggravated the gigantic monster to no end.
If it didn’t take care of the newly appeared individual, it might die even before Jay could launch his skill.
Despite the fiery thorns constraining it, the Plasma Predator pressed ahead, ignoring the self-harm and extended its arm long enough to pierce Dante’s body.
With bloodshot eyes, Dante watched as all four claws pierced his chest and waist. The monster was too fast to evade at such close range.
If it wasn’t for the buff, <Weak-link Haul>, demanding to be within 20 meters of the target, he could have dealt with the monster.
Dante wondered if he had the <Penetration Power> buff instead of the <Vitality Diffusion> buff, just three arrows would have sufficed in breaking the Essence Crystal.
But there were no ifs at that point, and regrets can’t change what had already happened.
