Earth’s Alpha Prime - Chapter 86
*****
Through the mental transmission from Shadow Leopard MJ that was hidden in a tree’s shadow near the other Earth Alpha Chosen, I learned about all of their conversations when I was a few kilometers away from my destination.
Just as expected, there seem to be a few that think they could defeat me now that I am no longer in the top of the Alpha Rankings.
For what I am about to do next, I first have to crush their confidence that makes them think they have the power to stand against me.
In order to do that, using Tier suppression is not ideal as that would only intimidate them. What I wanted to show them was that the difference in our powers is not something they could overcome.
For that, I already have a few things planned out beforehand.
Soon, Storm Eagle MJ landed in front of them with a rather flashy landing as all the winds in the nearby area turned restless from the sudden deceleration of Storm Eagle MJ.
It took a few seconds for the winds to calm and the dust to settle down. Meanwhile, none of the other Alpha-Chosen made a single noise, and my footsteps echoed in the silence as I moved closer to them.
From reading everyone’s thoughts, I could see that I underestimated my reputation, since I could sense fear or caution in most of them.
Among them, only Dante was the one that was glad that I arrived and waved at me while smiling like a kid. In the last two 18-hour rest periods, Dante helped my siblings to train combat techniques he learned from Sergei. Because of that, they slowly grew closer to him.
Even though Dante is a trustworthy person and he genuinely considers me as his friend, I couldn’t bring myself to treat him the exact same way because of the trust issues that scarred me ever since the conspiracy incident.
Still, other than my only friend, Rownak, Dante was the only one who came closer to being considered as my friend.
After nodding at Dante, who was waving his hand at me, I broke the silence that permeated there by directly diving into the topic.
“Since all of you seem to know my name, let’s not go into any formal introductions. Now then, rather than telling you why I have gathered you all here, it’s better to start with a demonstration.”
I clapped my hands twice and in the next few seconds, a van sized Fire Salamander crashed from the sky, creating a wide gap on the ground between them and me.
Following that crash, Hobgoblin swooped into the scene and stood upright beside me.
Once all of them used skills such as [Analyse] on the Fire Salamander that had its feet and mouth confined by the shackles, and realised that it was a Low-Phase Tier-3 Monster, I continued, “This Fire Salamander is one of the 40 Monsters that will have their respective Dome restrictions lifted on Day-7, which is not long from now.”
“As most of you already guessed, I have the ability to enter the Dome restrictions. The reason why I had this monster brought out from its respective Dome is so that all of you would realise the reality of fighting a Tier-3 Monster. Let’s not waste and begin, shall we?”
I nodded at Hobgoblin MJ and with a wave of his hands, the shackles that confined the monster were removed along with the Fire Element suppression that Hobgoblin MJ had used his Grade-9 Fire Innate Talent on.
Since the Fire Salamander has Grade-3 Fire Innate Talent, it was rendered helpless against Hobgoblin MJ who has the same elemental Innate Talent that was several grades higher than it.
The Fire Salamander looked towards me and when it saw the Hobgoblin MJ beside me, it cowered in fear but when it saw the other Alpha Chosen, it suddenly turned ferocious as if it was taken over by the monster instinct that every Monster in the Trial World has and attacked them.
None of them expected that I would release the Fire Salamander at them until the last moment, so all of them were not prepared apart from Dante, who could practically see one minute into the future.
He shouted, “Kasim!! use your [Earthen Wall] right away, it’s going to attack you first!”
Since Kasim was familiar with Dante’s abilities, he cast the [Earthen Wall] in front of him and successfully managed to defend the Fire Spit that was thrown at him.
Soon, everyone recovered their wits and showered their skills at the Fire Salamander.
Other than the attacks of those at Low-Phase Tier-3, the others’ attacks only managed to slow down the Fire Salamander, who only wanted nothing else other than killing them.
The struggle lasted for several minutes, and with half of them being at Tier-3; it didn’t come as a surprise that they managed to defeat it.
Moreover, none of their injuries were fatal, making it simple for Andrea to heal everyone with her Light Element.
I took out a Stamina Fruit before saying, “Most of you might have come across Stamina Fruits of Common Grade or Uncommon Grade, but this right here is a Rare Grade one, which not only could recover your stamina but also could improve your Endurance Attribute by 10 Stats.”
Most of them had different thoughts as to why I was showing it to them, but I shattered those thoughts by simply throwing a Rare Grade Stamina Fruit at each of them before asking to consume them.
Before any of them could voice it out, I once again clapped my hands twice and said, “There is no catch and none of you would be owing me anything. So, feel free to use it. Anyway, you all are gonna need it.”
By the time I was finished, the Venomous Scorpion MJ entered the scene while dragging a Centipede that was the size of three train bogeys by its tail.
Unlike the Fire Salamander, the Orchid Centipede wasn’t shackled but was paralysed by Venomous Scorpion MJ’s venom neurotoxin.
I interrupted those who were still staring at the Orchid Centipede in shock. “You guys better hurry, this Mid-Phase Tier-3 Monster is going to recover from its temporary paralysis state any time from now.”
With the abilities that were shown by MJ’s corpse integrated monsters and the things they heard about by my capabilities from Dante and Min-soo, none of them stood forward to question me when I made them fight against the Fire Salamander.
But now, Brandon brought himself to question me, “Mr Jay, I know that you want to bring us awareness of fighting against Low-Phase Tier-3 Monsters but this Orchid Centipede is at Tier-3 Mid-Phase and on top of that, it is a poisonous monster. If you make us fight against it, the chances of someone succumbing to its poison are high. I hope you take this factor into consideration.”
As I could read Brandon’s thoughts, I could tell that he didn’t want to offend me at all. Hence his respect towards me, even though he could see that I am a few years younger than him.
Even though he sincerely meant what he said, I could tell that his other intention was to see if I would be pressured by others that I would not release the Orchid Centipede on them.
If I were to do that, he would conclude that I wasn’t as strong as what Dante and Min-soo said.
After a quick processing of thoughts, I responded to Brandon right away by pointing to my left, “With Venomous Scorpion MJ here, none of you need to worry about dying from poison. Coming to that matter, none of you need to worry about dying at all as MJ would personally save any of you when you are about to be killed.”
“Just like I said before, I want all of you to know what happens once the Day-7 begins. Think practically. Will the other Low-Phase Tier-3 Monsters be waiting while you fight against one of them? No, they wouldn’t and fighting against a single one of those 40 newly released Monsters would end up attracting the remaining Low-Phase Tier-3 Monsters.”
“You could all guess what would happen then. So, for all of you to get a better experience, what’s better than facing a Mid-Phase Tier-3 monster, which is the same as fighting several Low-Phase Tier-3 Monsters at once?”
With a single glance at Brandon, I could tell that he didn’t see my reply coming.
Oddly, everyone found my reply reasonable and quickly ate their respective Grade-3 Stamina Fruits.
Before releasing the Orchid Centipede, I gave them all an extra few minutes to adjust to their Stamina Attribute that was improved by 10 Stats.
Soon, the battle started, and Olivia did something that was unexpected.
Just like how I used [Soul Eyes] Innate Talent to come up with the Skill [Soul Marker], she also created a skill called [Mind Link] to face the Orchid Centipede.
By using [Mind Link] on all the other Earth’s Alpha-Chosen, she was able to bring an unparalleled coordination among each other.
Not even once did each of their attacks overlap or cancel out the others’ attacks.
All their attacks were used in the most efficient way possible. It seems they were in some kind of strategic formation, making it hard for even the Mid-Phase Monster to completely defend against them.
At first, I thought Olivia was controlling all their minds, but it took me a few seconds to realise that all of them have their own conscious state, but they were fighting as a single entity.
Dante’s presence in that formation brought the effectiveness of [Mind Link] to a whole new level.
It was because Dante could see the path and attack pattern of the Orchid Centipede for the next minute and Olivia, who acts as the core of that formation, mentally conveys the necessary information to the remaining Alpha Chosen, giving them an upper hand in the fight.
Even though it took them some time, they emerged victorious without having to be saved by MJ.
Once they slayed it together, Olivia seemed to be mentally exhausted from the high consumption of Spirit Energy to use [Mind Link] for a longer time.
Impressed by her wits to come up with such a suitable skill in that situation, I gave her a Grade-3 Spirit Fruit instead of just giving her Spirit Crystals to recover Spirit Energy.
With the amount of Magical Fruits I gathered from the Domes of 13 High-Phase Monsters, I don’t have to be thrifty in using them.
Plus, I am thankful that Olivia came up with [Mind Link]. Now, I just have to synchronise with the Origin Sigil I gave her once more to directly obtain that Skill.
As for others, they were also mentally exhausted, but not as much as Olivia. So, I simply gave them each a few Grade-2 Spirit Fruits and used them to recover their Spirit Energy.
All of them were not just exhausted mentally, but also physically from the earlier fight, and they reached their limit after defeating the Orchid Centipede.
All of them laid there exhausted by the rocks and trees while talking with each other.
Since they all fought together and defeated a powerful monster, they all got closer without realising themselves and the awkward atmosphere they had among both groups was no more.
Even though I didn’t expect that to happen, it would still be beneficial for the real reason why I gathered them here.
While they were relaxing, I drew their attention.
“Now then, since you all get to know what it takes to fight a Mid-Phase Tier-3 Monster, let’s end this demonstration with one last Monster.”
Once again, I clapped my hands twice, but this time, MJ didn’t show up with any monster. Instead, a huge door shaped entrance opened in the Dome behind me and a 6-meter tall Ogre walked out of it and let out a roar that shook the ground within a few hundred meters, almost like there was a 3.0 Richter scale earthquake.
Just the appearance of the huge dark-green Ogre that had a horn on its face, scaring the hell out of some Earth’s Alpha-Chosen.
Gabriel was the first one to shout, “Mr Jay!! That’s a Lv.46 Monster. Even if all of us fight together like the last time, defeating such a powerful monster was nigh impossible, much less when we were not in our best conditions!”
The Ogre ran towards me, as I was the one closest to it.
Without even turning back, I activated [Strength Boost-III], temporarily enhancing my Strength Attribute by 25% for the duration of 3 minutes.
My muscles bulged a bit from the sudden increment of 41 Stats in my Strength Attribute, but that pain was nowhere close to the pain I experience every time I enter [INVERSE] mode.
With the Strength Attribute of 207 Stats, which was 7 stats more than how much I could use in [INVERSE] mode, I sent it flying with a punch on its chest before it could land a hit on me.
From the impact of the Ogre’s collision with the Dome, a few cracks appeared on the barrier before they recovered in the next second.
In the time that the Ogre recovered from the punch, I looked back at Gabriel who had his jaw dropped and said plainly, “Well, I never said you guys would be the ones to fight this Monster. Just lay back and watch what it takes to defeat a High-Phase Tier-3 Monster.”
Turning towards the Ogre, I walked towards it while cracking my knuckles, with each crack causing a loud boom in the nearby surroundings.
There wasn’t any need for me to use [Strength Boost-III] in order to defeat the Lv.46 One-Horned Ogre. But since I wanted to show the other Earth’s Alpha-Chosen the true gap in our power, what’s better than completely overwhelming a High-Phase Tier-3 Monster right in front of them.
