Edict of the Blade Fiend - Chapter 55
Staring at a towering majestic huge wall from a distance, it looked as if a giant shouldering the very heavens above!
Waves of ancient and indescribable Blade’s Menace were emanating from the peak of this huge, thick and heavy wall.
This was an ancient city that clearly possessed its very own temperament, it felt like a huge dragon trapped in a state of slumber. However, it seemed if this beast had woken up, a terrifying calamity would befall the world.
Just by a glance, staring at the majestic yet unspeakably mysterious environment, it would make everyone uneasy, while uncontrollable waves of bone-chilling feeling engulfed everyone’s hearts.
Elder Xing unleashed his Blade’s Spectre to transport everyone across the very heavens above, as they brought out of a tiny void in space. Then, the huge wall and everything around it had all vanished. It seemed that Elder Xing had transported everyone across a huge distance; they had now arrived at a huge complex of the main branch of the Zhou family.
It seemed there were waves of other elders arriving at this location in a flash of their Blade’s Spectre’s light. Every single one of these people was followed by lads and lassies who had ascended to the realm of the Blade’s Menace or the Blade’s Enforcer.
Taking just a quick glance around the scene, there were groups of people gathering in this complex and there were in total close to seventy groups of people!
“Hahaha, well if it isn’t Elder Xing, so after traversing two great cities, what sort of geniuses did you bring with you this time? The six geniuses that you had brought along with you last time was far too disappointing, merely the first rank in the realm of the Blade’s Enforcer, what a joke! This time, could you possibly have found someone with four segmented Qi Columns?”
An elderly man chuckled loudly as he approached after Zhou Yan and the other people that came with him had landed.
However, his initial laughing and cheerful demeanor changed into an interesting look! He was staring directly at Zhou Gucheng and several other people around Zhou Yan as his eyes were seemingly popping out of his socket.
“Boom…”
Without holding anything back, the elderly man spat out a mixture of his saliva and breath filled with Blade’s Essence. He then proceeded to cackle like a madman. He said, “Ah? Hahaha, a swords…swordsman, another one, two, no three Blade’s Cardinal, let’s take a look at their Qi Column, a single Qi Column with a single segment… Elder Xing, it seems you can’t find anyone and you had to pick these useless trash… have you gone mad? You dare bring these people into the family, oh boy, you are done for now!”
That elderly man who never looked that old stared at Zhou Gucheng and the others around him as if he was staring at a monster.
At this moment, Zhou Gucheng, Zhou Yao and the others were blushing heavily and even their lips were almost bleeding from biting down nervously.
“Elder Ning, you think Elder Xing would be even more manic than you? You will know soon enough who was the mad one!”
Zhou Yuan stared at the elderly man with a pride-filled gaze. Before a single sentence could escape his mouth, the elderly man pointed directly at Zhou Yuan without giving him a chance to speak.
“What’s the matter, you detest me? But I’m very much delighted! Let me tell you something, these people are under the protection of me and Zhou Ting, if you dare do anything rashly onto us, then don’t blame me for being disrespectful!”
Zhou Yuan spoke in a prideful manner.
It was the same arrogant attitude he had used onto Zhou Yan back then, however, it seemed that the target of his arrogance had changed.
“Zhou Yuan, I was merely speaking to Elder Xing, we were secretly competitive, and this has nothing to do with you. Yes, it seems there are important matters for the master to attend to, and he has come searching for you twice now, hurry up and get to him then.”
That elderly man was slightly displeased, however, he was not furious as he sent a message to Zhou Yuan telepathically.
After witnessing such a scene, Zhou Yan had finally understood how truly powerful Zhou Yuntian was.
He was in so much power, even someone as insignificant as Zhou Yuan had such a high position of power! This was all due to how naturally gifted Zhou Yuan was and although it was outstanding to be in the peak of the third rank within the realm of the Blade’s Menace, after Zhou Yan had sensed Elder Ning with his soul, he was clearly able to tell that Elder Ning was a powerful man in the realm of the Blade’s Heart.
Based on raw combat prowess alone, Zhou Yuan was not even close to being a match to Elder Ning whose powers exceed an entire realm. However, his explosive pride and his speech had caused even Elder Ning to collect himself and would not dare to grow furious at the lad.
“Master was looking for me? Then I should get going now!”
Upon receiving such news, Zhou Yuan had a slight tremble as the initial intention he had to stand up for Elder Xing faded away while he darted off from the scene.
At that very moment, a sudden wave of immensely potent Blade’s Menace was shot up into the very skies above. A huge specter of a human manifested on the very heavens above, this was a young elegant looking lad, his age seemed to be younger than seventeen or eighteen, however through both his eyes, they seemed extremely aged as if those were the eyes of entire millennia, a pair of aging eyes nonetheless.
His long flowing hair was fluttering in the winds, as he stood in the heavens above, he seemed like an actual majestic deity.
His specter was enormous, it seemed as if his specter was shouldering the entire weight of the heavens above. As he stood in the heavens above, that specter was wide enough to keep half of the entire sky shrouded in darkness.
“To all the elders of the majesty that is our Zhou family, please make your way into the Tower of Souls for a discussion!”
This statement was only spoken once, however, it sounded like a roar of thunder. This voice echoed deep in everyone’s ears, mind and heart.
This was an enormously menacing rush of Blade’s Menace, as it instantly branded itself directly into everyone’s heart.
“This man, the powers of this man was immeasurable, even the realm he resided in was unpredictably high…”
Zhou Yan’s heart grew nervously unstable, since he was unable to even grasp this man’s realm with the ability of his soul. He had grown cautious toward this man.
“This man, could it possibly be the current lord of the Zhou family? Or could it be someone else?”
As Zhou Yan pondered, he heard Elder Xing spoke to him in a hesitant tone, “Zhou Yan, I’ll leave you here at the moment, I’ll be back in a few moments…Yes, Zhou Han, Zhou Ting and Zhou Yuan, come along with me you guys!”
“Yes, great elder!”
Zhou Han, Zhou Ting and Zhou Yuan replied in unison.
“Alright!”
Zhou Yan replied with a single word, as Elder Xing morphed into a ray of light while he brought along Zhou Ting and Zhou Yuan before flying off into the distance.
Thus, all of the elders gradually left the scene as the mood of the entire palace began to liven up.
As Zhou Yan was about to question Zhou Ying who was standing next to him about the identity of that man earlier and could that person be Zhou Yuntian, however, he noticed the group of people that were brought here by Elder Ning earlier were staring at Zhou Yan’s group with a malicious gaze.
As Zhou Yan glanced toward these people, he noticed a series of eight people that consisted of seven young lassies that were led by a young lad clad in a green robe and messy hair walking toward them.
“You people are the geniuses from Canglan City? So which of you is the son of Zhou Wangyou?
That young lad was staring at them with a judgemental gaze, he drifted his judgemental gaze across everyone in Zhou Yan’s group.
As that lad spoke, the maidens who stood behind him were glaring at Zhou Yan and the people in his group with a mocking gaze. It seemed like they were…staring at the dead.
Every single person was staring with the same look.
If it was a single person with such a look, there would be a possibility of that person was merely having blind faith, however, under the same judgemental look by a group of people…in addition to Elder Ning’s mockery earlier, then there would be a high possibility of an exceptionally powerful person amongst these people.
Zhou Yan grew cautious, however, it was not shown on his face, as the young lad was merely interested in finding out the true intentions of these people.
However, the instant Zhou Yan unleashed his soul’s detection ability, under detailed scrutiny, he was shocked to discover the lad that stood in front of him was in the first rank within the realm of the Blade’s Menace!
It was even more baffling as his age was not older than eighteen years of age! This meant, the young lad would absolutely be required to ascend into the realm of the Blade’s Menace before he was sixteen, only then would he reach the very peaks of the first rank within the realm of the Blade’s Menace!
As Zhou Yan began to focus deeper, his soul’s ability stretched deeper into the young lad’s Ocean of Qi, as he observed the lad’s Qi Column from a distance… his heart had a slight tremble.
As expected, this young lad was in possession of a single Qi Column with four segments!
The young lad’s heart grew heavier after that discovery. However, in a sudden moment, Zhou Xian stood out with pride.
“I, Zhou Xian is the son of Zhou Wangyou, where did a b*stard child like you hailed from, to have the audacity to bark like a hound here?!”
Zhou Xian was acting like a mad lad, especially it was unsure of where all of the young lad’s madness came from. He was arrogantly confident that with his single Qi Column of three segments was merely behind Zhou Yan and Zhou Ying, thus, his extreme display of arrogance.
“Oh, it seems the b*stard child was you! Your father and another man whose name was ‘Zhou Wangqing’ perished by my hands all those years ago; well today though…Die!”
As the young lad spoke, everyone assumed he had more to say, however, during this very moment, two inhumanly terrifying rays of Blade’s Menace shot out from the young lad’s eyes!
That was a Blade’s Menace filled to the very brim with a wave of destruction!
The Blade’s Menace this lad trained was the infamous skin-crawling Blade’s Menace, the Blade’s Menace of Murderous Destruction!
Both rays of Blade’s Menace had seemingly locked onto Zhou Xian’s soul in a sudden moment, and in that single instant, he felt he had already died!
However, at the same moment, a rush of spiritual energy began violently flooding into Zhou Xian’s body.
Zhou Xian trembled violently, then after that, he was shocked to realize, Zhou Yan was standing right in front of him as he stood at the same spot completely unscathed!
Zhou Yan’s back was facing him, it seemed Zhou Yan had shielded him from those terrifying rays of light, saving his life.
In addition to that, it seemed Zhou Yan had also poured his own spiritual energy from his soul into his body, saving his soul from almost being completely shattered!
In that single instant, Zhou Xian’s heart was moved beyond belief!
Thus, the young lad lowered his prideful head.
…
“Hmm? It seems another lad has a death wish!”
This young lad had a sharp face, it seemed as if a knife had carved into his face, he had a pair of long luscious eyelashes as a sinister gaze flashed across both of his eyes.
As the lad spoke, with inhuman lightning-fast speeds, he had reached for the hilt of his blood-stained sword that was hanging by his waist. The next instant, a flash of light rushed by Zhou Yan as he felt his neck had been slashed by that single move.
The pupils in Zhou Yan’s eyes constricted, as he could not even remotely anticipate nor see this single slash coming from his opponent.
However, Zhou Yan never felt the pressure of death, since Silver Frost had reacted to that slash in an instant, it had manifested an invisible defensive barrier around Zhou Yan, blocking that slash from his neck.
“Clang…”
A loud low-pitched sound echoed through the air, and the young lad stumbled six steps backward from where he stood. Zhou Yan was standing, unmoving at the same spot.
Zhou Yan’s expression was unchanged, as he stared emotionlessly at the young lad as if he was staring at the dead.
The dark pupils of that young lad contracted in response to that, as a look of surprise and seriousness morphed on the young lad’s face!
The series of lads and lassies that stood by his side were all frozen as if they were all witnessing a tense play. They were all shaken to their very core!
This lethal attack had slashed across his opponent’s neck and all that lad did was stood idly by without any form of reaction. On the other hand, the prime genius in their group stumbled six steps behind just by the recoil alone!
This opposing young lad, what kind of powers could this young lad possibly hold in his possession?
“You may leave if you are still standing after three strikes from me!”
Zhou Yan stared at this group of people with a huge wave of bloodlust pouring out of his eyes.
“Do your worst!”
That lad yelled with a cold tone.
As Zhou Yan’s hands moved, Sorrow’s Breaker that was hanging by his waist instantly manifested a single Blade’s Specter.
There was no earth-shattering display, nor were there any massively surprisingly potent Blade’s Menace, instead, it was merely a single invisible Blade’s Specter, it was similar to a flash of lightning, the light that was emanated from that Blade’s Specter was blindingly bright and cold, it was as if that light was about to stab everyone’s eyes!
“Swoosh…”
A single hum from the blade could be heard!
“Thud…”
In a single instant, the head of that young lad who was capable of unleashing a Blade’s Menace of Murderous Destruction instantly shot up into the sky as a fountain of blood gushed out of the gaping hole from his neck!
“Thud, thud, thud…”
Fifteen young lad and lassies who stood behind the young lad had all been decapitated, in a single instant, all of their heads shot up at the same time.
Zhou Yan had unleashed one of the three sealed Blade’s Specters that were within the body of Sorrow’s Breaker in that single attack and thus, with an instant he had slaughtered that young lad along with fifteen other lads and lassies!”
Hence, in the span of half a minute, one by one these heads fell onto the very ground beneath his feet. These were like balls that were stained in blood, as they roll by Zhou Lingyi, Zhou Lingyao and Zhou Xian’s sides.
Etched on the faces of these heads were interesting expressions of shock, loss, fear, and despair…
