Electra 1 How It Begin - 4 Chapter 4
The rest of the day was alright. It was 3 hours before I got back home and a further 2 until my parents got home. We had pizza take out and then Blades got a cake out. “Who is that for?” mum asked.
“For Electra, it’s her birthday.” Blades replied. My dad and mum went out of the room and came back with 2 cards and six presents. On top there was a flat present and underneath was a rectangular box. I got a new set of art things (including paper canvasses and stuff to draw with), a pair of trainers, a whole new set of clothes, and a new set of books, a new phone and a phone case. I had a card from mum and dad, and each had £50 in it. We had cake and set up my new phone. We watched TV and then someone came knocking at the door. At first I thought it was one of our friends but it wasn’t. It was a man and he looked like the ones in my dreams. “What are you doing here, and who are you?” My dad asked sternly.
“They are both ready to be trained. They both have anger thanks to you to and until they get help it will only get worse!” Said the mysterious man. “No, we will train them.” Mum said. “Kids, go to your rooms, it’s a school night.” She continued. We went upstairs and listened to the conversation. “Remember what happened last time you said that?” The man asked.
“How can we? You won’t let us forget Slither.” My dad said. I could hear my mum sobbing slightly. I wanted to find out more about Slither. However, I wanted to find out who they were talking about. The answer soon came. “We have to tell her. She already has the mark of the twin on the wrist. Only you can give those out. If she has it then she’s ready for the truth.” My mum said. I could hear regret and sadness in her voice, like she was hiding a big secret, which she never wanted to tell. Whilst I was deep in thought dad called my name. I went downstairs and sat down. I really thought I was in trouble. “It’s time you know the truth.” My dad said. “You and Blades are not the only children we have.” Taking a deep breath in, he continued. “You have three older brothers and a twin brother.” He stopped. I’m not sure if it was to give me time to think, or because he didn’t want to carry on. “Tomas is 18, Alex is 15, John is 14 and Loki is your twin. The reason we moved is because they started a storm. They couldn’t control it. It came too close to the house. You were always the better person when it came to storms. They directed all their power to you and you tried to stop it. Then it came too close to Blades and you got scared. You struck yourself with lightning and the storm stopped.” My dad stopped. Tears were in his eyes. My mum was sobbing harder now and I was fighting back tears too. “Your brothers ran away. You were in a coma for half a year. You never used your powers for the rest of the year. Until, you and your brother wiped your mind of all magic. You said that when he needed you, you will get the mark of the twin. Then you would need to know the truth.” My mum finished through sobs. Tears rolled down my cheek. “No! Blades is my brother, magic doesn’t exist.” I shouted. I knew it was the truth deep down. It was true everything they said, but I didn’t want to believe it. There was another knock on the door, and I answered it. He had black hair and dark green eyes. “We need your help Electra.” He said. We walked into the living room and my parents went over to him. They stated fussing over the 18 year old boy. I wish I didn’t know who it was, but I did. I grabbed my bag and went. I didn’t know where I would go, I just wanted to think. I wasn’t even down the road when someone came and talked to me. “Are you Electra Storm?” He asked. I nodded and a van came and parked behind me. I tried to run but they were pulling me in. I shouted and my parents came out. “No, they can’t get her.” The boy said. “Let her go! She doesn’t know. Take me instead.” He finished. I was the most scared I had ever been. One of the men came out of the van and got him. I was ready to run, but they had already put hand cuffs on me. I tried to scream but nothing came out of my mouth. We were both shoved into the van. The two men that got us went to the front with the driver. The van started to go. It was hard to see what was going on because the back of the van was dimly lit by a light. I managed to back myself into a corner. The boy came over to me. “Go away!” I shouted.
“No, I’m here to protect you, whether you like it or not. I am your older brother. I’m Tomas or Tommy whichever one you like best.” He finished. “So what mum and dad said was true?” I asked.
“Yes.” He replied. The van turned a sharp corner, and something hit my head. It was a sharp pain and it stayed. In the dim light I could see blood. What had hit my head? Then I realised, a knife had been on the shelf above my head, and now it laid on the floor, with my blood on it. Everything went blank.
