Emperor of the Universe - Chapter 5 The Element of Fire!
Qin Lan’s teachers voice rang out in the empty hall “It seems like you have chosen, a manual you like.” the old man said with a slight smile curling up to the corner of his lips. “Now, if you don’t mind I will allow you to see your affinity rate for the primal elements. They are classified at average, excellent, and demonic. Normal warriors are at the average level, while geniuses are at the excellent level, while monstrous geniuses are at the demonic level. The Elements can be divided up into 7 categories, them being metal, water, earth, light, darkness, fire, and wind. Know lets test you shall we?”
The old man man said “This will only take a second, now come over here.”
Qin Lan walked over, his small muscular legs trembling from excitement. he stopped in front of his master, and kneeled. The old man then placed his long bony fingers on Qin Lans forehead, and concentrated. After a few seconds a gask could be heard, as the old man stared at Qin Lan in shock.
“Yo-You have incredible potential!” Qin Lans master said very surprised. “You have a demonic level of affinity for earth, fire, and wind, while everything else has an exceptional affinity!!!”
Qin Lan stood there stunned not knowing what to do. “Ha ha ha ha ha! To think that I Yan Bo would have such an amazing disciple, the heavens are truly blessing me!!!” Yan Bo looked at Qin Lan and said “I can’t have you dying on in life or death battles early on, so for 5 years I want you to learn how to use the different types of Qi.” Yan Bo said while waving his hand and causing multiple books to appear.
“You can start studying know.” Yan Bo said with a slight anticipation in his eyes. Suddenly he seemed to remember something, as he shouted to the already leaving Qin Lan “Wait!!!” Qin lan stopped and turned around confused. “Here take this spacial ring. It allows you to store any items that are non living in here at will, you just have to drop some blood onto it to allow it to recognize you as its master.”
Qin Lan immediately bit into his thumb, and winced slightly at the pain, and watched as a small crimson ball formed at the tip of his finger. The little droplet of blood slowly rolled off his finger, and landed on the ring, watching in fascination as the little droplet of blood got soaked up by the ordinary looking black ring.
Qin Lan slipped the ring onto his finger, and started to practice putting things in and out of the ring. After he got familiar with the feeling of putting things in and out of his ring, he set out to leave. walking out of the loud creaking door. He looked at his hunting squad, and said “Let’s move out!” before making a mental map of where his master lives.
By the time the squadron got back to the castle the sun was already setting. Qin Lan immediately rushed into his room, eager to start training. With a flip of his hand he got out the fire Qi training manual, and started to train according to the instruction of the manual. One had to close their eyes, and clearly think about flames, and see themself controlling them.
Woosh! Qin Lan suddenly appeared in a black space staring at a monstrous amount of fire. “According to the Fire Qi training manual the more control one is able to exert over this fire the more powerful one would be.
If someone could control half of the flames present then they will be able to break through to the Jindan stage. If you can control 75 percent of it you will break through to the Deity stage. If one could control all of it they would become a Godking! If one was somehow able to perfectly control all the power without wasting any amount of power, they would become a transcendent being.
Qin Lan looked at the fire, and tried to make it succumb to his will, but to no avail.
Qin Lan tried over, and over, and over again but to fail every single time. His eyes were bloodshot, and his hair was disheveled. He gritted his teeth “This time it will definitely work!!!” he roared as he tried again this time with determination. The fire rumbled as a small portion of it flew towards Qin Lan.
Qin Lan was immediately ecstatic, and his focus wavered a tiny bit.
BOOM!!!! A massive explosion rang out.
Qin Lan’s face paled “The power of that massive explosion had enough power to wipe out an entire mountain range!!! What kind of hellish power is this!?” Qin Lan exclaimed. “I was this close to being able to control to control it if I hadn’t gotten so excited I could have succeeded!” Qin Lan said while smiling bitterly, looking back at the massive tower of flame with heat so strong that it warped the very space around it.
Qin Lan backed away from the tornado of intensely hot fire, and started to try controlling again. Suddenly he started laughing “Ha ha ha ha ha! I’ve been focused on controlling the entire thing, even deities can’t do that! I need to focus on a small part of the flame at a time, and I will definitely succeed!”
Qin Lan then turned all his attention to a small flicker of flame from the huge ball of fire in front of him. The ball of fire rumbled as if it was reluctant of letting the small part of fire go. The small ball of fire, about the size of a fist, flew towards towards Qin Lan. The fist sized fire shot towards his forehead, and merged with him. A fiery red aura shot up around him, Qin Lan gritted his teeth. “The pain this made him feel, was like someone was burning his organs inside his body. “AAAAH!!!” Qin Lan screamed with bloodshot eyes “I must merge with this, and become more powerful!!!!” Qin Lan ferociously screamed. Blood could be seen flowing out of his nose, eyes, and ears. Qin Lan looked nothing like the elegant young man like before, he looked like a savage, brutal beast. “AAAAH” Qin Lan howled in pain, as he threw up mouthful after mouthful of blood.
His face immediately turned pale. He bit his tongue to keep himself from falling unconscious. “Im almost done!” he said with bloodshot eyes. Suddenly the pain stopped, and his injuries started to rapidly heal, as the fiery aura around him diminished. “I succeeded!!” Qin Lan said as he looked around and saw himself back in his room again.
He immediately ran into the training courtyard, and activated his fire Qi. A red aura suddenly sprung to life around him, as he swung his fist at a tree.
Boom! a fist shaped dent could be seen in the tree. Not even a second later the tree exploded into tiny little splinters.
Qin Lan shook in delight, and went to tell the news to his father.
