Emperor's Reckoning - Chapter 1114: Need Aid
Seraphina led the way to a spacious room with large windows that offered a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. As they entered, all the elders bowed in respect to the matriarch. Seraphina, however, held her head high and made a commanding announcement.
“Leave us,” she said firmly, “an important guest will be using this room.”
The elders didn’t hesitate to obey, their reverence for her authority clear in their actions. Upon seeing Lyon and the group, their sense of reverence only deepened. One elder quietly whispered to another, “They are the ones we’ve heard so much about, the legendary figures. Treat them with the utmost respect.” n))In
The mention of ‘infamous’ brought a smirk to Lyon’s face, and the girls couldn’t help but giggle at the playful undertone of the conversation.
Seraphina smiled and nodded, expressing her gratitude for hosting one of the greatest emperors in history. She continued, “Our finest rooms are being prepared for your stay, and in the meantime, we’ve arranged some snacks for you.” As she spoke, the door swung open, revealing a spread of delicious treats, and she gestured for them to enjoy.
The snacks were a sight to behold, as well as to taste. They were artfully arranged on ornate platters, showcasing an array of colors and textures. There were delicate pastries filled with sweet and savory fillings, fresh fruits and berries glistening with natural juices, and various nuts and cheeses that delighted the senses. The room was immediately filled with the tantalizing aroma of these delicacies, enticing Lyon and the group with their mouthwatering fragrance. It was a feast for both the eyes and the palate, a reflection of the Moonshadow Clan’s culinary expertise and their warm hospitality.
The matriarch watched with a bemused smile as Lyon and Kesya eagerly indulged in the delicious feast, their playful antics lightening the atmosphere. Cecile’s warmth and humor were evident as she interacted with her companions.
Cecile grinned mischievously as she watched Lyon and Kesya indulge in the feast, occasionally playfully nudging each other while trying different delicacies. The matriarch couldn’t help but be intrigued by their dynamic.
After a few bites, Cecile turned her attention back to the matriarch and inquired, “How is the Elven Emperor these days? The last time I met his daughter, she mentioned that he was facing some turmoil. I hope he’s managing well.”
The matriarch’s surprise at Cecile’s mention of the Elven Emperor’s daughter quickly shifted to a somber expression. She nodded and replied, “You are well-informed. Yes, the Elven Empire has been facing some challenges recently. There have been political tensions and external pressures that have put a strain on our once-peaceful realm. It’s a trying time for our people.”
Seraphina’s eyes sparkled with hope as she looked at Lyon and then turned her attention to Empress Cecile. “With the Emperor’s presence, we may find the change we need,” she said with optimism.
Cecile chuckled at the idea. “Lyon may work miracles, but there are more pressing matters we should attend to as soon as possible,” she replied with a thoughtful tone.
Seraphina’s expression was a mix of curiosity, concern, and a hint of urgency. Her brows were slightly furrowed, and her eyes bore into Cecile, searching for answers as she asked, “Empress Cecile if you don’t mind me asking, what brings you to Second Hell realm? There seems to be an urgent matter on your minds.”
In the elegant room with a breathtaking view of the surroundings, the conversation took a serious turn. Cecile, with a worried expression, explained to Matriarch Seraphina the reason for their visit.
“We are on a search for Maria,” Cecile began, her tone grave. Seraphina raised her finely arched brows in response, a touch of surprise flickering across her features. “The Benevolent Empress?” she inquired, seeking confirmation.
Cecile nodded solemnly. “Yes, that’s right. We believe something might have happened to her, and it’s essential that we find her as soon as possible. If anything bad were to befall her…” Cecile trailed off, casting a meaningful look toward Lyon, who was cheerfully indulging in the snacks provided.
Seraphina felt a shiver run down her spine at the unspoken implications. She knew the power and the reputation of the Zodiac Emperor, and the thought of his wrath, let alone his beloved Empress being in danger, sent a cold chill through her.
The weight of the situation hung heavy in the room as Seraphina considered the urgency of their quest and the consequences of not finding Maria in time.
Matriarch Seraphina, her graceful demeanor unfaltering, nodded in response to Cecile’s concerns. “You have my full support,” she assured them. “If there’s anything I or the Moonshadow Clan can do to assist in your search for the Benevolent Empress, please don’t hesitate to ask. It’s not just a matter of your empress; it affects the balance of the realms.”
Cecile, relieved by Seraphina’s willingness to help, smiled gratefully. “Thank you, Matriarch Seraphina. We appreciate your assistance and understanding in this matter.”
The atmosphere in the room shifted from one of concern to a sense of unity and determination as they all understood the gravity of the situation and the need to find Maria as quickly as possible.
Matriarch Seraphina, intrigued by the mention of this cloaked figure, leaned forward and asked Cecile, “You’ve encountered this healer? What did you hear about her? She’s known to cure people for just a single flower?”
Cecile nodded and elaborated, “Yes, that’s the one. From what we’ve gathered, she’s a mysterious figure who helps those in need by accepting a single flower as payment. We believe she might have information about Maria’s whereabouts or her situation.”
Seraphina contemplated the information and said, “I’ve heard stories about her as well, though nothing substantial. People from various clans have sought her aid when in dire need. She’s known for her discretion and her ability to help with seemingly impossible conditions. If you have any leads, it’s worth pursuing. I can assist you in your search, and together, we might uncover more information.”
Cecile, appreciating Seraphina’s willingness to help, replied, “That would be invaluable, Matriarch Seraphina. Your knowledge and resources could greatly aid us in this quest.”
Cecile nodded in agreement, fully aware of the delicate balance they had to maintain when involving Lyon in their quest. Their mission to find Maria had just taken a new turn, and the path ahead was uncertain. With determination and Seraphina’s support, they embarked on their journey to locate the mysterious cloaked healer and uncover the truth about Maria’s situation.
