Empire Of Jadase: New Day - Chapter 33
Ravaging fire and thick black smoke can be seen all over the 3rd planet’s cities, villages and towns. Skyscrapers ranging from 400 – 1,500 meters are now on the verge of collapsing. Some cities now looked like a ghost town – no soul can be seen and only sounds of animals and raging fire can be heard. Large quantity of smoke inundated the skyline of the 3rd planet. Beams, missiles and all sorts of powerful weapons can be seen being fired in all directions hitting their targets. These kinds of scenarios are among the things that can be seen when you are looking at the 3rd planet and when you witness it personally.
Some of the Durtians are now being captured and they have chains all over their body. Crying and screaming can be heard all over the prison camp of the Ice Kingdom as those Durtians are being decapitated in front of 15 other Durtians who have their eyelids clipped by a metal like string into their eyebrows so that they can see all the scenarios playing in front of them.
“This is too much Jadasians! I curse you all to death!” Screamed the Archbishop painfully and tears began to inundate his eyes. He cannot take every second that is passing through as he watched his people die in front of him. For him, this is much more than he had felt when he had been tortured by Deisham. If he had to choose between those two, he will surely never make a second thought in choosing being persecuted rather than to see your kind being butchered and slaughtered in front of you. This is worst than dying without justice. This needs more than justice, freedom and democracy can offer. It needs righteousness of the Universe where everyone must be equal.
“Too much? This is not too much, I am just fulfilling my oath. I’ll let see what I saw when I never blinked my eyes when I witnessed how you killed my friend and my comrades. You’ll suffer hundred times more than what you had done. That is my oath and I will do it until the last Durtian from children to elderly has been decapitated in front of you and together with your company.” Laquadia said to the Archbishop and to the rest of the Durtians in front of him with a scornful expression. He never show pity and he never sympathize to those he believes that are not worth it. You crossed the line and you must see what is the end of that line.
“Wahhhhhh! My child, not my child! Please, I beg you my Lord, show mercy! Please!” The Durtian mother said to Laquadia. She is crying painfully as she saw that her son is being dragged into the execution ground. 9 other Durtians are being dragged together with her son.
“In what form shall my mercy be shown?” Laquadia asked the mother coldly.
“I’ll do everything – I’ll give all my life to serve you and all my soul to be your slave! Please, my Lord – spare my son. Please!” The mother answered him painfully. She is now shivering hysterically from the outside as she is begging Laquadia and the other Jadasians in front of her to spare her son.
“I follow my mind on all the decisions I am making…..” Laquadia cut what he had to say and looked at the mother intently. “….but all the time it is my heart. I am also hurt to see these Durtians being killed but don’t you think this is fate?” He finished his response to the mother and looked at the Jadasian who is escorting his son to the execution ground. “Release him together with his mother. Bring them to the prison cell of Sylvestra 67.” Laquadia said resolutely. The mother and her son was then escorted by three Jadasians towards a transport ship. “Continue the execution, kill everyone.” He added and began to spread his wings and flew high up in the sky. Commotions continued when they heard what Laquadia had said.
“No!” Cry and sobs can be heard on the whole area as more than 100,000 Durtians began to voice out their own mercies. They hope that the First Prince will also spare them when he heard their own stories and letting them live as a slave of the Empire. They are now hoping that they can avoid the execution just like the mother and her son.
“Please, spare me my Lord! I have two kids!”
“I will do anything you say, my Lord!”
“I’ll give anything for you, my Lord!”
“Please, spare me!”
Durtians in the execution ground is now in a turmoil as Laquadia didn’t pay any heed to what they are saying and leave them with a deaf ears and blind eyes.
‘My heart is bad.’ He said to himself after he realized what he had just done.
He knows that sparing a life from death is against the Imperial Way.
‘Sigh.’ He gave out a long sigh and leave the execution ground towards the other side of the planet.
“Laquadia, your heart is too soft. What are you going to do then?” Someone said beside him displeased.
“Deisham, you don’t need to follow me. Those Durtians are the only one I’m going to spare. They are remembrances coming from those lizards, don’t you think?” Laquadia said to Deisham casually. He cannot believe that this Jadasian would follow him.
‘He truly is a good friend.’ He said to himself astonished.
“Are you sure they will be the ‘last one’ your going to spare?” Deisham asked him curiously with a hint of furiousness in his expression. “That brat had rescued 500 Durtians, Laquadia. What will be the reaction of our enemies? They’ll surely insult us because we showed these Durtians some mercy! Annihilation means extermination – that is the Imperial Way. Do it for the sake of our reputation!” Deisham added with a displeased and maddened expression. He knows Laquadia very well, that’s why he needs to let him remember what he needs to do. A soft heart is a weak Jadasian – that is what he believes, but looking at the Jadasian beside him, he is now doubting that belief of him. He is displeased towards Laquadia and also to himself.
“I know that, Deisham. I’m going to have a conversation with that brat! Those Durtians will be the last one I’m going to spare…” He said cutting what he had to say and stopped flying in midair and looked at Deisham meaningfully. “…but, if he gives me a good reason I’ll let him do whatever he wants to.” Laquadia added resolutely and began to fly towards the Frigate above them.
“Ugh!” Deisham responded with a harrumph and followed Laquadia towards the Frigate.
“Go to the Ganivade FCS.” Laquadia ordered the Captain of the Frigate and they then changed their course flying towards the space.
**********
Inside the private room of the Ganivade FCS which is only exclusive for a Fleet Commander. A handsome young man can be seen leaning in a large window looking towards the 3rd planet with a somber look. He gives out a very long sigh for the nth time as he imagined all the possible scenarios that are happening in the 3rd planet and to all the children in there. He wished that nothing untoward will happen to them. If only he can rescue every children, he’ll do it without any exceptions.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
Three consecutive knocks can be heard in his door and it has been followed by a deep voice outside.
“Commander, the First Prince requested for you to meet him.”
‘I think it is now or never.’ Mozti said to himself confidently. He knows why the First Prince is here, it is no other than about the 500 Durtian children he had rescued.
He then walk towards the door and opened it. To his surprise he saw Frazco, Laquadia and Deisham standing outside his room. He didn’t expect to see them immediately after he opened his door especially, Laquadia. Frazco looked at him anxiously while Deisham and Laquadia have a furious expression plastered on their faces.
“Mozti, how dare you rescue those Durtians?! Hand them over and lead them towards the execution ground in the 3rd planet, they have to die!” Deisham yelled at him madly.
“Deisham, let me handle this.” Laquadia looked at Deisham with raised eyebrow. He then looked at Mozti with displeased expression. “Mozti, those children must die together with their parents. That is their destiny and hand them over to me.” Laquadia said to him fiercely. He don’t care whether this Jadasian in front of him is just a young man, he still needs to reprimand him like what he had done to all his subordinates.
Mozti looked at Deisham coldly and then he turned his head towards Laquadia with a determined glint on his face. He do not want to back down and follow what Deisham and the First Prince had told him. He’ll fight for those children even though his name and reputation is at stake or even his own life.
“If you think, children of our enemies deserved to die because of their parents – you don’t deserve to live.” Mozti said to Laquadia with a straight face.
“Gasp!” Deisham gasp after he heard what Mozti had said. Not only him who had an expression like that – Frazco is even more flabbergasted towards the words he heard from Mozti. Saying those words to a powerful being like the First Prince, is like digging your own grave.
“What kind of gall you have here brat!” Deisham added and began to wave his hands making a powerful spell to slam towards Mozti. He cannot believe that the mouth of this kid is much more than he expected it to be.
“Stop it!” Laquadia said towards Deisham with cold voice.
“But….” Deisham reported back but he didn’t finished what he had to say when he saw the coldness in Laquadia’s eyes.
“Let him finish.” He said calmly towards Deisham.
After Mozti heard what Laquadia had said he gave out a long deep sigh inwardly. He is truly horrified by what he had said and he never expected that those words would come out of his mouth.
Without pondering more on what he had said he continued to look at Laquadia confidently. He needs to convince this powerful Jadasian in front of him for the sake of those children – he must. He gives out a deep sigh for the second time before he starts what he have to say.
“Children don’t know what is wrong from what is right. Even us, don’t truly know what it is; that is because there’s no right and wrong – only differences on what we know on what is right and wrong. Those children are orphans, we have no right to let them suffer after we had destroyed their homeland.” He said resolutely towards Deisham and the First Prince. He now knows how to use the right words. Using ‘we’ is a wise decision to talk to these Jadasians. “I am an orphan and I know what is the life of an orphan. I feel envy towards all those children who have their parents on their side who will always be there for them in the ups and downs, fails and successes they encounters in their life.” He paused for a while and looked at Laquadia in the eyes seriously. “Let me raise them and I assure to you – I will be a good father.”
Deisham looked at Mozti with a shocked expression but he immediately get back to his senses. He cannot imagine that those words would come out of Mozti’s mouth.
‘A good father? Is he out of his mind?!’ Deisham said to himself and looked at Mozti with a raised eyebrow saying; ‘Are you serious?’.
“I have my own prejudices and impartiality but let me learn from it. I might not be the best but let me be a good father to them. I’ll teach them, on how to be a Jadasian.” Mozti added earnestly.
“To be a Jadasian?!” Deisham yelled furiously at Mozti when he heard those words came out of his mouth. “Watch your mouth brat! They belonged to the lowest form of beings in this universe and you’ll teach them on how to be a Jadasian?!” He added unsheathing his swords. Deisham now looks very furious as if smokes came out of his head. He truly wanted to cut Mozti’s mouth if he only has a chance.
“Deisham, be calm.” Laquadia said looking at Deisham casually and turned his head towards Mozti.”You cannot teach those Durtians to be a Jadasian. They don’t qualify to be one because in the first place they are a dead civilization. Also, they belonged to the Imperial Lower Individuals, didn’t the academy taught you about it?” Laquadia said casually. “Mozti, I can only allow you to raise 250 Durtian children and the rest will be killed.” He added resolutely.
“What?!!!!” Mozti was shocked on what he just heard. “You’re going to kill half of those children after I had given them hope? I’ll die before you’ll do it!” Mozti said resolutely towards Laquadia.
“Are you challenging me child?” Laquadia asked Mozti full of killing intent.
“Can’t I?” Mozti replied with a cold eyes.
“Hahahaha!” Laquadia laughed disbelievingly on what he heard. “I underestimated your dignity and passion towards those children.” He said casually. “But still, I won’t allow you.” Laquadia is now looking at Mozti with a furious expression. He needs to give this child a lesson he’ll never forget.
