Empire Of Jadase: New Day - Chapter 36
The sun shines brightly and cumulus clouds can be seen together with some flying birds that look like cats swirling above the execution ground. Jadasians are packed surrounding the area where beseeched Durtian children are lined up. The scene they are witnessing is something that is already familiar for those who had been into war for multiple times. In the center, there can be seen a young handsome man who has a jade-like skin. Contrary to the drops of blood that stained his body. This Jadasian is no other than Mozti. Going towards him is a Durtian child who has cracked scale on his face, thus making his presence to be one of woe.
“Please, spare me.” The Durtian child said towards Mozti crying. This is the 67th children who begged Mozti for their lives. He looked at the children full of regrets and sympathy. He regretted not being able to defend them and let them die like the others.
He now understands that the sun will never rise again in this land and if it will it is not the same as before. This War is at its end and tomorrow is the time they’ll leave this place desolated. He doesn’t know what are the plans the First Prince has regarding the Nymphos System but he knows at this moment there’s none.
One of the Jadasian escorted the child towards the execution podium. Bloods can be seen all around the floor of this raised structure. The child didn’t raise any concerns regarding his death. He looked at Mozti listless for 5 seconds and uttered something that he cannot understand.
Mozti raised the executioner’s sword closing his eyes and slashed it in a blink of an eye.
Sweat can now be seen all over his body. He just killed the 67th children making him feel heavy from within. He never anticipated that someday he would kill innocent children. Especially those who resembles himself as an orphan.
“Nooooooo!!!” The Archbishop shouted when he saw a certain Durtian child being dragged towards the execution podium. This Durtian child has a red scale on his forehead signifying that he is one of the royalties. Obviously, this child is no other than the son of the Archbishop. Seeing his son being killed in front of him is too painful. He wanted to free himself from the chains around his body as he struggled forcefully.
“Pipe down will you?!” Laquadia shouted at him scornfully. “Archbishop look how blood spills out of his neck.” He added bringing back the words he said when he killed Neros and the others. “I wish you are seeing this.” Laquadia said sarcastically.
“Papa, save me.” His son said to him teary-eyed.
On the other hand, Mozti doesn’t know what to do. He knows that the Archbishop is the one who killed Neros and he really wanted to let this lizard pay for what he had done.
Looking at the Archbishop’s expression, Mozti understands that killing his son will be a big blow to him. This is the revenge he is seeking all this time but how can he kill this child?
After some time, the Archbishop’s son is now in front of Mozti. He is still in trepidation whether to flash his sword or not. Unlike the children before, he doesn’t have any grudge against them. Now he understands what Laquadia meant. Still, he doesn’t want to kill this child even if his father is the one who ordered to kill his idol, Neros.
“What are you waiting for, kid. Kill that child and you can at least avenge Neros.” Laquadia told him convincingly.
“Don’t you ever slash that sword of yours, child!” The Archbishop shouted at him at the top of his lungs.
Mozti looked at Laquadia who is now smiling widely and looked at the Archbishop. Tears can be seen coming out of his bulging eyes. The Archbishop now looked more distinct from the proud face and spirited personality he had.
Mozti turned his sight away from the Archbishop and looked at the Durtian child who is now crouching on the podium facing his father. The Durtian child is now shaking all over his body as he cries waiting for his death.
Mozti began to raise the sword signaling that he is going to slash it any moment from now.
“Nooooooo!” The Archbishop howled painfully.
“Archbishop, you’ll see what I saw.” Laquadia said to him coldly remembering that time when Neros was been killed.
Slashhhh!
“Wahhhhhh!” The Archbishop roared plangently as he saw the death of his only child. “I’m gonna kill all of you!” The Archbishop is now struggling to free himself from the chains around his body. Furiousness or even anger cannot define what he feels. If he freed himself, he’ll surely kill anyone he sees. Whether they are Durtians or Jadasians, he’ll slaughter them all.
“Free him.” Laquadia ordered Deisham who is standing beside him.
“He is my prisoner.” Deisham replied to him coolly.
Laquadia looked at him in the eye as his response. When Deisham saw it, he just made a disappointed expression.
“Okay.” The only word Deisham had said and walks towards the Archbishop who is now struggling violently.
A couple of minutes had passed, when Deisham freed the Archbishop. He then madly wen towards his son’s body who is now headless.
“No…my son… Nooooooo!” The Archbishop cried painfully and looked at Mozti full of killing intent.
Suddenly, in a blink of an eye, the Archbishop pounced Mozti full force with his claws.
Boommmm!
The sound of a colliding body that resonated in the surroundings.
The collision is like the strike of a lightning bolt that even Mozti doesn’t know what happened. In fact, he doesn’t make a single reaction after the Archbishop attacked him. The happenings are just too fast for him and even to some of the Jadasians around.
Mozti looked at his surroundings with a shocked and widened eyes and raised his head in the air. His eyes are wider than before on what he is seeing. A headless body of the Archbishop is flying towards him. He blinked his eyes countless of times when the body landed in front of him.
His gaze had been fixed on it for 15 seconds. After he regained his senses, he looked at his surroundings and saw the head of the Archbishop being held by the First Prince.
“Continue what you are doing, Mozti.” Laquadia said casually and tossed the head towards the execution podium. “You should finish it as soon as possible. We’re leaving, the day after tomorrow.” He added walking back to his position.
Mozti only nodded his head as an answer to Laquadia. Until now, he cannot discern why had happened a while ago.
Another Durtian child is now being dragged towards him. He needs to do it again and again until the 500th Durtian child is killed. He closed his eyes and pondered his thoughts regarding the things he is doing. It is against his will but he has no power and voice to say no. He raised the sword again and slashed it guiltily.
Half a day had passed and now the sun is now waving goodbye from a rigid day it had witnessed. Cat-like birds can now be seen pecking their perverse beaks towards the corpses in the execution ground.
Mozti finished the felonious mission Laquadia had made him do. He is now looking at the blood-like sky above him contemplating on the things he had done and gives out a very long sigh. The departing sunlight caresses his handsomely sculptured face as if telling him to be strong. The execution ground is now desolated leaving him, Frazco, Rago, and Senus, together with some of the Jadasians who are cleaning the area and piling the corpses to be burned behind. Lowering his head, he then saw blood all over his hands and some of it is on his chest and face. He cannot believe this blood is not from any of his enemies nor from the criminals that deserve to die – this blood is from the innocent and orphaned children.
“What you had done will not make you a devil.” A very pleasant voice that can calm any storm entered his ears like a melodious song.
He turned his head and saw a gorgeous blue-skinned woman standing proudly at his back.
“Let it pass like a day and let it begin anew.” She added walking towards him like an alluring nymph. “You’ve done well….not from killing those children but from saving some of them.” She added standing in front of him.
“My name’s Mozti.” Mozti said calmly.
“Hahahaha.” The woman chuckled lightly on what she had heard. “My name’s Evolet.” She answered him pleasantly.
“It’s nice to meet someone who is beautiful like you, Evolet.” Mozti said grinning.
“It’s my pleasure.” Evolet replied and her body is now color pink.
“Can you be my pilot going back to my Command Ship?” Mozti said indifferently.
“What?!” Evolet shouted at him with a constricted eyes.
“You’re a Captain, right?” He answered her sarcastically.
“You!” Evolet is now changing her colors from pink to red.
“Why? What’s wrong with that?!” Mozti said running away from Evolet when he saw her reddened face. He knows that she is ready to attack him anytime.
“Get back here donkey! Never compliment a woman when you need something from her! That is ultimately wrong, idiot!” Evolet shouted at him and began to pursue Mozti furiously.
“Here we go again.” Frazco said rolling his eyes heavenwards.
“What are we going to do then?” Rago asked him anxiously.
“We’ll first need to find a spacecraft going back. Are you using your head?” Senus said towards Rago disbelievingly.
“Let’s go.” Frazco said to them and left Mozti who is now running away from Evolet. Senus and Rago followed him going back.
“Can’t you just escort me?” Mozti said breathing heavily.
“I’m not your chaperone!” Evolet shouted back at him full of killing intent.
**********
Inside a Frigate going towards a gargantuan spacecraft that is surrounded by thousands of other small and large Frigate, Cruisers, and Capital Ships; there can be seen two men having a serious conversation. They both wear a dark spacesuit, while the other has a golden crown on his head.
“What are we going to do with this System, Laquadia?” Deisham asked him earnestly.
“We’ll convert it into an outpost. The Nymphos System has a strategic location in this Galaxy. Thus, making the Guimduras Republic be interested in the Durtians.” Laquadia replied to him looking at the window. “Do you think he’ll understand what I had done?” He asked Deisham listless.
“Why, what had you done wrong?” Deisham asked him curiously.
“Sigh.” Laquadia gave out a long sigh a turned his back to look at Deisham in the eyes. “Station 1 million troops and the 2nd Armada to guard the System.” He said not answering the question he had been asked.
“When are we going back to the Empire?” Deisham asked him understanding the order he had been given.
“We’ll leave tomorrow. But first, we need to organize the troops who will be assigned to guard the System. Deisham, I will leave everything on you.” Laquadia said to Deisham seriously.
“Why can’t you do it yourself?”
“You know I have never done it before.”
“Why?”
“I just don’t want to do it.”
“You’re unlike Beru and Pozial.” Deisham said to him displeased.
“I’m not them.” Laquadia answered him full of indignity.
“Just do it!” Deisham shouted at him agitated.
“Ughs! Okay, if only you’re not my friend.”
After he said those words the air became awkward for the both of them. They then remembered Neros and the things they do together.
“I think, we need to let ourselves accustomed without Neros.” Deisham said breaking the silence.
“I didn’t found their bodies, Deisham.” Laquadia said looking out the window.
“Where can it be?”
“I’m sure they had burned it already.”
“We are arriving any time soon, Laquadia.” Deisham said to him after he received the message from the Captain.
Laquadia nodded his head and went to the nearest chair to seat and closed his eyes pondering over the things he needed to do after they have arrived.
The Frigate landed on the western section of Sylvestra 67. They were then greeted by 75 powerful Jadasians wearing golden armor inside the Armada Command Ship, who waited for their arrival. They immediately went into one of the private rooms.
“Gentlemen, we’re going to make this System our outpost and I want some of you to be stationed here to assess the rehabilitation of the whole System.” Laquadia started as soon as everyone finds their own seats. “This structure will be built in the 2nd planet.” Suddenly, an image of a majestic 1,200 feet skyscraper appeared in front of them in a hologram. The structure is mainly made up of glass, thus, making it like a crystal-clear water that reflects it’s surroundings.
“It will serve as our headquarters here in the Nymphos System.” Laquadia said letting everyone understand what he is going to say.
He then made a swiping gesture in the air changing the image to that of the whole Nymphos System.
“The 5th planet will be converted into a trading hub where everything is on sale. This is to make sure that money will be pouring in without the help of the Kingdom and to ensure the survivability of the whole System.” Laquadia said and the 5th Planet began to change. Cities began to change into that of luxuriousness compared to before.
“The strongholds of the 4th planet will be converted into factories where spacecrafts will be built for the Ice Kingdom. Also, academies will be built in here to widen the scope of our military power. The 3rd planet will be transformed into a stronghold and a Military Base for the Empire and of the Kingdom letting us control this sector. The 2nd planet will be the cultural hub of the Empire letting some of the civilizations to engage and to exchange ideas regarding science and technology. The 1st planet is essential to be transformed into a solar energy hub powering the whole System and trading some of the excess energies that are being made.” Laquadia explained everything that he has in mind regarding the terraforming of the whole Nymphos System.
“Everyone, if you have any questions you can ask Deisham regarding it. That would be all.” Laquadia said and looked at Deisham waving his hand. Deisham suddenly looked at him furiously after he heard those words from him.
‘BYE.’ He uttered with his mouth and vanished into thin air.
“Laquadia!” He shouted at the top of his lungs but without success to escape this grieve some destiny he has.
Actually, this is not the first time this Jadasian had made this on him. The number that he left him with this job cannot be counted with his fingers.
Dismayed, Deisham answered all the questions that are now flooding him.
‘I’ll definitely not going with that truant, again.’ He said engraving those words on his mind.
