Once Lee Tae Yang left the ballroom with his assistant to discuss something important, Li Juan returned to her seat before someone approaches her with requests to join the dance floor.

Bai Yu who was left spellbound by the chemistry of Li Juan with Lee Tae Yang looked at his sister who was blushing unconditionally,

“Jie,” He called Li Juan who was fanning herself with her palm.

“How long since you guys are in a relationship?”

“Huh?” Li Juan lifted one of her eyebrows in a query,

“Bro Tae Yang and you, seem to be closer than before…I mean you guys were friends but now it’s obvious that you like each other,”

“I am waiting for him to confess,” She didn’t even try to hide her blissful face,

Bai Yu’s lips curled into a big “o” as he continued listen to her words,

Lee Tae Yang confessed in front of the whole world the reason for attending today’s award ceremony and even shared the dance floor with Li Juan. Even an idiot could easily understand that they are a couple.

“But Jie, he just did it…in front of everyone, what else is there to confess?”  Bai Yu couldn’t help but ask, “He used to be your suitor and you are the one who refused him. I seriously don’t understand your ways,”

“You don’t understand even if I told you,” Li Juan smirked, “Just don’t tell anyone at home…not yet,”

Bai Yu wobbled his head like an obedient kid and beamed,

“You know, I will support you in your every decisions, I will be always your faithful knight, majesty,”

He jokingly said as he handed over a cock tail drink,

Li Juan warmly smiled and picked up the cocktail before standing on to her feet,

“I will be outside, I terribly need some fresh air,”

“Ahhh… call me if someone tries to approach you, I will make sure to kick their asses,”  Bai Yu proposed and made a fist,

“My baby brother is the best,”

With a flashy grin, Li Juan pulled his cheeks, before leaving the ball room.

She somehow managed to escape from the crowd and headed towards the balcony.

Since everyone was busy enjoying the ball and the interactive sessions with each other, the wide balcony in the backside of the hall appeared vacant and eerie,

Li Juan gazed at the full moon in the dark sky. She raised the cocktail glass and sipped her drink while enjoying the night view.

When her olfactory senses were faint smell of tobacco, Li Juan looked around,

On the dark staircase leading to the rooftop, an almost invisible silhouette remained detached from the world.

Fiery orange cigarette flames gleaming in the lips of the shadow,

Li Juan stared at the vague silhouette, which appeared familiar to her eyes.

While the whole world was preparing to welcome the new year, this person was hiding away from the joyful present.

It was Tang Wei Sheng.

He never expected to crash into the person whom he has been trying to avoid, but secretly yearned for.

After the night in the Yun mountains when they encountered each other’s past, they decided to end their contact and move on with their life…

As soon as he accepted the award, he walked away from the event hall but couldn’t leave.

When Tang Wei Sheng felt someone’s gaze on him, he turned and found a beautiful woman looking in his direction.

When his eyes met with Li Juan’s beautiful face, his face brightened along with a surprised smile on his lips.

She acknowledged his presence with a faint nod.

Tang Wei Sheng put out the cigarette and walked towards her with heavy steps.

“Congratulations,” He raised his champagne glass, to clink with her cocktail glass,

“Thank you. Congratulations to you too,” Without any hesitations, Li Juan clanked her glass.

She did appear different,

He believed that Li Juan may not be interested to have a conversation with him…again, but she didn’t refuse.

Since there weren’t any objection from Li Juan, Tang Wei Sheng leaned on the railing, little away from her.

Though their standing positions appeared closer to each other, their hearts were light years apart, there is no way that they will go back together.

It was over between them.

“So did you quit your research?” Tang Wei Sheng initiated a conversation with her,

“No. I am still working on it,” She replied casually,

Hearing her reply Tang Wei Sheng’s thin lips bloomed into a proud smile,

“Hmm, you struggled a lot for that, don’t leave it halfway.

“How is LanLan?” She suddenly remembered Tang Wei Lan.

“She went back to Z country. Her music school is conducting some kind of concert,”

“Hmm, convey my regards to her,”

“You don’t talk to her?”

“I don’t have her contact number,” Li Juan replied honestly. After breaking up with Tang Wei Sheng, Li Juan changed her number.

“I can give-”

“Wei Sheng,” suddenly someone called out for Tang Wei Sheng and interrupted their conversation,

It was Ye Wu Fan. Since he was the only one who keeps in touch with Tang Wei Sheng after their school days, he felt that his friend must be having a hard time when he saw Li Juan with some other men.

However he never expected to find Tang Wei Sheng with Li Juan, away from the hassle,

“You were here, I was looking all over the place for you,”

“Oh!!!,” Tang Wei Sheng moved a bit closer to Li Juan and picked up his cell phone to show her Tang Wei Lan’s contact number,

Li Juan unlocked her phone and Tang Wei Sheng couldn’t help but notice the screen saver applied.

It was a photograph of a tipsy Li Juan clinging to Lee Tae Yang with a cute expression on her face, she appeared happier than ever,

Tang Wei Sheng glanced the girl before him with agonized eyes,

Did she accept that man?

After copying the number, Li Juan bowed and tried to walk away.

“Li Juan,” Ye Wu Fan called her in an apologetic tone, “Sorry for that day,”

“Hmm?”

“Xie Long and Mo Yan, they went overboard with their words,”

“Did something happen between us?” Li Juan asked indifferently,

Ye Wu Fan stared at her in dubiety, is she really acting like that she doesn’t know him?

“If you don’t have any thing else to say, then,” She slightly bowed and headed back to the ballroom.

“Sometimes, I just have this thought that, some people never change. Look at her, even after all these years she doesn’t give a damn shit about us,” Ye Wu Fan gritted his teeth,

“Why are you here?” Tang Wei Sheng’s voice lacked warmth,

“I just wanted to check whether you are alright,” Ye Wu Fan slanted his body on to the railing and sipped his drink,

“Xie Long and rest of the guys are arguing with each other whether Li Juan is faking a new identity or-”

“There is nothing to fake, she is the young miss of the Bai family,”

“But the Li Juan we know was poor,”

“Her father is the fourth son of Bai Corporation’s chairman. Since he married without his family’s permission, she had to live in poverty. Recently they took her in,” Tang Wei Sheng explained briefly about Li Juan’s relation with Bai family,

“Woahhhh, it seems like a fairy tale,” Ye Wu Fan commented,

“Actually I have met her few months ago, with Zhang Zhi Jun. That time she was his fiance, now Bro Jun revealed that they are cousins. That’s why Xie Long is agitated. She even ignored us and treated like strangers,”

“She was in an accident and lost her memories,” Tang Wei Sheng informed,

“Did she forget everything?”

“Her recent memories before the accident, she remembers her life in Silver Oak,”

“Aiishhh it must have been nice if she forgets that period too,” Ye Wu Fan chimed,

“What?”

“Huh..Its nothing,” Ye Wu Fan tried to hide his flustered face,

“Then why are you so flustered?” Are you hiding anything from me?” Tang Wei Sheng’s eyes narrowed as he continued to interrogate Ye Wu Fan,

“Ya, don’t, it is better that you don’t know about it,” Ye Wu Fan tried to avoid answering, however Tang Wei Sheng was not ready to back off, “Both of you are moved on with you life. There is no point in-”

“Ye Wu Fan!!!” Tang Wei Sheng raised his tone,

“We also believed that both of you hooked up and got her pregnant,” Ye Wu Fan confessed with a guilty face, “Knowingly or unknowingly we also played an important role in ruining her life,”

Once the party got over, Li Juan was planning to crash into Zhang Zhi Jun’s condominium. However after hearing Lee Tae Yang’s words, she changed her plan and return to their pent house.

“Where do you live Jie?” Bai Yu asked Li Juan as soon as they got into the car,

“I live near the university,”

“Are you sure want to go back, can’t you stay with us?” Zhang Zhi Jun inquired her,

“No first brother. I got work tomorrow, how about I visit you tomorrow evening?” Li Juan suggested, “We can even invite Tae Yang,”

“What do you say, Bro?” Bai Yu who was curious to know more about Lee Tae Yang’s relationship with Li Juan pestered Zhang Zhi Jun,

“As you wish Majesty,” Zhang Zhi Jun agreed with her and giggled, “I never thought I will become close to my rival,”

Once Li Juan suggested to treat Zhang Zhi Jun as her brother, he killed whatever feelings he had for Li Juan.

After a while the black Limousine reached the thirty floored apartment in the vicinity of Jing university.

“You live here?” Zhang Zhi Jun asked with a surprised face,

“Yes,” Li Juan stepped down from the car,

“Jie, let me escort till your door,” Bai Yu tried to follow her,

“No, no..it is already late,” Li Juan refused his offer , “And I live on the top floor and you already look tired,”

“It is okay Jie,”

“Bai Yu, let her go…” Zhang Zhi Jun stopped  his brother from escorting Li Juan,

“Let’s meet tomorrow…Good night then,”

“Good night first brother, Xiao Yu, drive safe,” Li Juan bid adieu to them and walked towards the elevator,

“Brother, why did you stop me from going with Jie..It is already late and what if some creepy guy hides somewhere and tries to attack”

“Do you know who owns this building?” Zhang Zhi Jun shut down Bai Yu with a question,

“No,”

“It is owned by Lee Corporations,” He said with chortle,

“Don’t tell me,” Bai Yu closed his mouth with his palm and looked at his brother with a petrified face, “They live together?”

“I don’t know about it…but Tae Yang lives in the top floor of this building…No wonder she was so excited to go back to her friend’s house,”
