Enchanting Martial Doctor - Chapter 7 The Last Days Of The Past Life Pt.1
In this world there was a legend that every child born will inherit some potential and some power from their former life. The child also had a chance to acquire their former life’s martial aura. Usually martial aura not only serves as a way to identify people when they are in disguise but it also tells a cultivator which road in cultivation they should walk on.
In Ying Yue’s case the Ying Yue whose body she had taken over was in fact her own reincarnation. Her soul had been in this body all along it was just that she hadn’t remembered her past life until the incident with her brother happened. Her regaining the memories from her past meant that the she had now gotten access to proper information on the best techniques for her to cultivate as her current body had inherited the same potential and martial aura as her old body had.
You could say that she has a huge advantage when it comes to both potential and knowledge compared to the other cultivators. Even when you compares it to her past life as she didn’t know which cultivation techniques suited her best back then. This time she didn’t have to waste time finding the perfect technique since she already knew which suited her best. Thanks to her past memories and knowledge she can advance faster than anyone else! She may even one day be stronger than anyone else! Then she won’t be betrayed. No one will look down on her!
“Uncle.”
“Yes, Yue’er.”
Ying Yue handed a list over to Uncle Feng Dai.
“Could you please try to gather these herbs and cores for me? I need them for my cultivation.”
Uncle Feng Dai quickly reads through the list and looks up at Ying Yue.
“Yue’er, some of these are really hard to come by. I’ll do my best to find them but don’t be surprised if I can’t get ahold of all of them.”
“That’s fine, if that’s the case then list them up and I will give you a list of the substitutes that are easier to get ahold of. They won’t give as great effects as the originals but they will give at least some effects. And about the possible negative effects of using substitutes, my master told me to contact her if I need help purifying substitute ingredients.”
“You have a way to contact your master?”
“Yes, Uncle. We established a master-disciple bond in the forest and my master is a high level cultivator. I can call on her pretty easily and she can summon me to where she is.”
In Ying Yue’s past life she was at this level where she could summon her disciple to her side if they ever were to be in danger. So she knew this was possible. Back then she had only made this master-disciple bond with her most treasured disciple who also happened to be her closest aide who betrayed her in order to kill her with the help of her enemies.
Telling Uncle Feng Dai about the master-disciple bond made Ying Yue recall her last days in her past life.
The Heavenly Sect wars between the three heavenly sects, Heavenly Dew Sect, Heavenly Flame Sect and Heavenly Breeze Sect had just ended with the Heavenly Dew Sect winning. The other two losing sects were forced to sign a peace agreement stating that they would receive heavenly punishment if they were to break it. A council was made with the sect leaders and some of the sect elders from each sect.
As the Heavenly Dew Sect won the war Ying Yue was the one who took the position as the president of the council while her closest aide and most treasured disciple, Jung So Young, was given the position of secretary. The position of vice president was given to the first elder of the Heavenly Dew Sect, Shou Ke Lang as Ying Yue was indebted to him since before she started the sect.
The Ying Yue of the past had been born an orphan. Her father died in a war and her mother died while giving birth to her in grief of losing her husband. First Elder Ke Lang found her at an orphanage when she was 6 years old. He noticed her talent in martial art and raised her as his own child, teaching her cultivation techniques in the process. He became a fatherly figure for her, she was saved by him. As she didn’t want him to risk losing any face she gave him the vice president position in the council. She also didn’t want to hand power to the other two sect leaders so choosing First Elder Ke Lang was the best option.
Of course the Sect leaders of the Heavenly Flame Sect and Heavenly Breeze Sect weren’t happy about this outcome but they couldn’t do much about it after signing the peace agreement. Ying Yue at the time wasn’t so worried about them. To her they couldn’t even hurt a fly in their current state.
A week passed since the two sect leaders signed the peace agreement and Ying Yue was sitting in her study signing and looking over sect documents when she heard a knock on the door.
“Come in”
Ying Yue said looking up to see who it was that disturbed her while she was working.
“Disciple greets master!”
“Oh, it’s just you, Young’er.”
So Young had walked in through the door and made a greeting as soon as he came in.
“I just want to let master know that First Elder Ke Lang will be helping me train in the forest and will be gone for awhile.”
“Why isn’t he here with you to tell me that himself?”
“He told me that you wouldn’t really mind it if he didn’t tell you directly, master.”
“I see… well he knows me alright. Young’er have a safe trip.”
“Yes, master.”
So Young leaves and carefully closes the door after himself.
To Ying Yue, So Young was her treasured disciple while Ke Lang was like her father. She couldn’t see any harm in Ke Lang going out with So Young to help him train. Also despite being an old high level martial master, Ke Lang didn’t like books. Ying Yue’s study was filled with them so Ke Lang preferred to not go in and inform her himself. Ying Yue was aware of this fact and didn’t really mind it much but she would of course once in awhile want the man who is like a father to her to show his face and tell her directly.
